The Mimbanese constituted one of several sentient species indigenous to the planet of Mimban. Renowned for their expertise in the art of guerrilla warfare, the Mimbanese possessed an uncanny knack for seemingly vanishing into the muddy and murky terrain of their native world.
Also referred to as Mimbanites, the Mimbanese were a sentient species native to the planet Mimban. A notable characteristic of the Mimbanese was their vivid, red skin, coupled with blue eyes lacking eyelids, and two rows of diminutive horns positioned above their brow ridges. Their eyesight was particularly well-developed, perfectly adapted to the dim lighting conditions prevalent in their subterranean dwellings.
Among the various sentient species populating Mimban were the Mimbanese. These beings primarily resided beneath the planet's surface, demonstrating exceptional skills in camouflage. Demonstrating high levels of both aggression and intelligence, the Mimbanese were adept at constructing makeshift traps and employing mud as a form of concealment.

Although Mimban remained largely unnoticed by the broader galaxy throughout much of its existence, the Mimbanese eventually established contact with the Galactic Republic during the era of the High Republic Era. During this period, some members of the species would later align themselves with the Nihil.
During the Clone Wars, the Mimbanese forged an alliance with the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. Under the command of tribal chieftain Iasento, the Mimbanese organized a Liberation Army. Junior Representative Jar Jar Binks was dispatched to facilitate communication between the 501st and the Mimbanese. Aided by the Mud Jumpers of the Grand Army's 224th division, the Mimbanese fought against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, successfully driving the Separatists away from Mimban.
Following the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire, the Mimbanese fought against swamp troopers belonging to the Empire's 224th Imperial Armored Division.
Iasento, a male Mimbanese tribal leader, played a crucial role in organizing and leading the Mimbanese Liberation Army during the Clone Wars. Subsequently, he led the army in opposition to the Empire's forces throughout the Imperial Era.
Waydurk, a Mimbanese individual, joined the ranks of the Cloud-Riders after witnessing the subjugation of his homeworld by the Empire.
Kierah Koovah, a Mimbanese woman, sided with the Galactic Republic during the Battle of Mimban, where she suffered the loss of an arm. She was later fitted with a cybernetic prosthetic to replace the missing limb. Following the Battle of Endor, Koovah aligned herself with the New Republic and assumed the role of leader of Vanguard Squadron, piloting a U-wing.
