Nooranbakarakana

In the era of the High Republic, a Frozian Jedi Knight named Nooranbakarakana, often shortened to Nooran, served within the ranks of the Jedi Order. Stellan Gios, a Jedi Master, was familiar with Nooranbakarakana's reputation. She was one of the many Jedi present at the Valo Republic Fair, where she assisted in the defense against an attack by the Nihil. Subsequently, Nooranbakarakana became a member of the Unified Republic Task Force, an organization dedicated to eradicating the Nihil threat.

Biography

Events at Valo and the Subsequent Aftermath

During the High Republic Era, Nooranbakarakana, a Frozian Jedi Knight, was a member of the Jedi Order. Jedi Master Stellan Gios recognized her by her established reputation. He noticed her among the numerous Jedi attending the Valo Republic Fair. Later, when the Nihil launched an attack on Valo, she was among the Jedi and forces of the Galactic Republic who reported to Gios after Padawan Ram Jomaram reestablished communications.

Following the assault on Valo, the Republic and the Jedi established the Unified Republic Task Force to pursue the Nihil. Nooranbakarakana was a participant in this task force. During the Battle of Galov, she was stationed on the bridge of the cruiser Ataraxia, as part of the response team to a distress call from a relay post that was under assault by Lourna Dee's Tempest. The Task Force successfully defended the station from the Nihil, rescuing two survivors and capturing several of the attackers. Among those captured was Lourna Dee, disguised, who was believed to be deceased by the Jedi and Republic forces.

Infiltration of the Nihil

The Jedi at Starlight Beacon incorrectly believed that Dee had been the Eye of the Nihil. They then focused on identifying her replacement and gathering intelligence on the Nihil's plans. To accomplish this, Marshal Avar Kriss and the Jedi of Starlight, including Nooranbakarakana, orchestrated a skirmish within the Soola system. They disguised two Jedi Knights as Nihil, hoping they could infiltrate the marauders' ranks. The selected Jedi, Keeve Trennis and Terec, used the captured Stormship Ransacker to attack Wayseeker Orla Jareni's starship Lightseeker. This prompted Jareni to send a distress signal to the Ataraxia, while Trennis sent a signal to the Nihil. After the drift of Jedi Vectors from the Ataraxia had launched, Nooranbakarakana informed Kriss that the scanners were detecting multiple ships about to exit hyperspace, responding to Trennis's distress call. Kriss, confirming she sensed the approaching ships' presence in the Force, ordered the Vectors to prepare for their arrival. Nihil ships from Zeetar's Tempest emerged from hyperspace and used magclamps to attach to the Ransacker, under the pretense of a rescue. Nooranbakarakana soon verified that the pirates had reentered hyperspace, taking the undercover Jedi with them.

While Trennis and Terec were on their mission at the Warcloud Forge on Xais, Nooranbakarakana and the other Jedi aboard the Ataraxia continued to monitor the situation. When Zeetar ordered the two disguised Nihil to execute the Jedi's former ally Myarga Anjiliac Atirue as a test, Jedi Knight Ceret sensed the distress of their bond-twin and informed Marshal Kriss. Nooranbakarakana commented that such unease was common during these types of missions, but Ceret insisted on Myarga's involvement. Concerned, Kriss instructed Nooran to track the coordinates provided by Ceret. Later, while being tortured by Zeetar, Myarga revealed Trennis and Terec's true identities, forcing them into a confrontation with Zeetar and his Tempest members. This fight was interrupted by Lourna Dee, who murdered Myarga and revealed her survival to Terec. This revelation was also made known to Ceret and the other Jedi. Dee seized the opportunity and ordered Doctor Kisma Uttersond to use the Great Leveler on Trennis and Terec, severing the latter's connection with their bond-twin. Nooranbakarakana expressed shock at this, stating she had never heard Ceret refer to themselves with the singular "I". Nooran, along with the others on the Ataraxia's bridge, were dismayed when Ceret collapsed to the floor and began to calcify, similar to what happened to Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm.

Nooran after encountering the Nameless

As Ceret struggled, Marshal Kriss realized she could no longer sense either of the Kotabi twins in the Force. Although Ceret was determined to reach Terec's location, Nooranbakarakana questioned the wisdom of such a move, advising them to instead go to the Ataraxia's sick bay. In a panic, Ceret pushed Nooranbakarakana out of her chair and seized control of the ship. While Kriss helped the Frozian to her feet, Ceret rerouted the ship to Xais. After exiting hyperspace, the ailing Kotabi fell into a hibernation trance, prompting Nooranbakarakana to call for the Marshal. While the Jedi attended to Ceret, the Ataraxia was struck by fire from Nihil ships, causing Kriss and Sskeer to deploy in their Vectors, leaving Nooran and Galdros to pilot the cruiser. During the battle, Nooranbakarakana informed Kriss about the fighters' origin, the refinery, and Sskeer soon confirmed his sighting of the Ransacker. Eventually, Sskeer leaped from his Vector, aggressively engaging several Nihil on the ground, eliciting a shocked reaction from Kriss. After defeating the marauders, Sskeer and Kriss reunited with Trennis and Terec, the former in severe distress and the latter in a hibernation trance like their twin. As the Jedi recovered, Lourna Dee escaped the planet, despite the exhausted and anguished Kriss's attempts to stop Dee's ship using the Force.
