Pax was a pirate of the Gran species. During the New Republic era, he was a member of Captain Silvo's crew. Pax participated in the forceful takeover of a merchant freighter, assisting in the subduing of its crew. However, after it was discovered that the freighter's vault contained only a single credit, Pax joined the other pirates in a mutiny against Silvo.
Following this, with Brutus taking over as captain, the pirates journeyed to Port Borgo. There, Pax assisted Brutus in the capture of a group of children. After Silvo made an escape, only to be recaptured, Pax was present at his trial aboard Brutus's frigate. He showed his agreement by nodding when the former captain received a death sentence. Yet, when Silvo promised the pirates untold riches if they would follow him to an Old Republic mint on the planet At Attin, Pax enthusiastically pounded his chest as Silvo began to sing a shanty.
Subsequently, the pirates made their way to At Attin, only to find it protected by a Barrier that prevented their passage. After they seized control of the Onyx Cinder, a ship capable of traversing the Barrier, Silvo eliminated Brutus as the pirates boarded the vessel. Once again in command, Silvo gave Pax and the pirate Kona the order to capture the group of children who were on board the Onyx Cinder, a task which they completed. After viewing a holographic message from the parents of the children on the ship, Pax, Kona, and Silvo were rendered unconscious by the droid SM-33 after the child Fern successfully reclaimed ownership of the vessel.

Pax, a pirate of the Gran species, served under Captain Silvo as part of his crew on a pirate frigate during the New Republic era. Following a string of unsuccessful operations that caused some of the crew to doubt Silvo's leadership, the [frigate](/article/frigate] launched an attack on a merchant freighter, using drill-tipped boarding tubes to pierce its hull. Pax, along with many other pirates, charged down the tubes and onto the [freighter](/article/freighter], with the first pirates through being shot down by the merchant crew. Pax was in the next wave, successfully boarding and opening fire on the merchants, swiftly overwhelming them.
After the remaining merchants were taken prisoner, Pax and the other pirates proceeded to the freighter's magnetically sealed vault, where Silvo attempted to force the merchant captain to open it. When the captain refused, Silvo ordered him to be ejected through the airlock before instructing a pirate to use an arc welder to breach the vault. As Pax and the assembled pirates waited, Silvo spoke of their recent hardships and promised credits within the vault. However, upon opening it, they discovered it contained only a single credit. As the pirate Brutus criticized the captain for the loss of life over such a meager sum, other pirates turned their weapons on Silvo in mutiny. Pax, instead of drawing his weapon, patted Silvo on the shoulder while baring his goat-like teeth. Silvo responded by punching the Gran in the head before attacking other pirates.

With Brutus now in command, the pirates piloted the frigate to the asteroid station of Port Borgo. After a group of children from the mythical planet At Attin arrived at the port, they became involved in a dispute with Pax's crewmate Vane and other pirates over the Old Republic credits they possessed. Hearing the commotion, Brutus, accompanied by Pax and other crew members, made his way to the children's location, where he shot down the childrens' droid SM-33. Brutus then instructed Pax and the others to imprison the children in the port's brig.
The children managed to escape from the brig, along with Silvo, who had also been incarcerated there. The pirates eventually recaptured Silvo on the planet Lanupa and brought him back to Brutus' frigate for a trial. Pax was among those who gathered to observe, nodding in agreement as others cheered when Brutus found the former captain guilty and sentenced him to death. The pirate Chaelt then interrupted, reminding Brutus of Silvo's Right of Last Appeal as stipulated by the Pirate's Code, granting Silvo equal time to present his defense.
Pax listened as Silvo reminded everyone of their hunger for wealth, having barely survived on the scraps offered by the galaxy. The former captain then claimed to have a way for them to generate unlimited wealth, revealing an Old Republic credit that caught the Gran's attention. Silvo then revealed that he had discovered the location of a mint capable of producing these credits, belonging to the legendary pirate Tak Rennod, and began to sing a chant about Rennod's journey to At Attin. Pax pounded one fist against his chest as Silvo sang, with other pirates joining in and cheering when Silvo revealed the mint's location on At Attin. With the allotted time expired, Brutus declared that they would travel to At Attin to search for the mint, but that Silvo would still be executed if they were disappointed.
Upon arriving at At Attin, the pirates discovered it was surrounded by a Barrier that destroyed the snub-fighter of the pirate Glerb, who had volunteered to test it. The Onyx Cinder, a starship known to Silvo for its ability to safely pass through the Barrier, then arrived alongside the frigate and was captured, with the pirates using a tractor beam to drag it into the frigate's hangar. Pax was among a group that accompanied Brutus and Silvo to board the Onyx Cinder, waiting at the base of its boarding ramp with weapons ready as Brutus went up first.
The captain was then seized by a cargo arm from inside the ship, leaving him suspended helplessly in mid-air as a voice from within demanded that the pirates allow them to leave to prevent Brutus from being harmed. Silvo took Brutus's blaster musket and shot the mutineer, turning to Pax and the other shocked pirates and asking if anyone still wished to follow the Shistavanen. Lowering their weapons, Pax and the others accepted Silvo's return to command. The restored captain ordered the Gran and the pirate Kona to board the Onyx Cinder and capture the four children they would find inside, the same children they had previously captured on Port Borgo.
Pax and Kona successfully took the children hostage, confining them to one of the Onyx Cinder's tables as Silvo and the droid SM-33 searched the vessel's cockpit for the technology that allowed the Onyx Cinder to pass through the Barrier. Noticing an incoming transmission, Silvo played it and discovered it was a holographic message from the childrens' parents on At Attin. Kona left Pax to guard the children and entered the cockpit to watch, but when the children tried to follow, Pax held them back with a large knife, growling at them in Huttese.
The Gran then moved through to the cockpit to watch the hologram as well, leaving the children to plot how they might regain control of the ship. As the message ended, the child Wim charged into the cockpit to try and attack Silvo, but Pax quickly grabbed him. However, the other children then attacked Pax, allowing Wim to break free and continue his charge. Kona then grabbed Wim and Pax used his knife to push back the other children, with the child Neel quickly apologizing to the armed Gran. Silvo ordered Kona to chain up Wim, but when the child claimed that the Onyx Cinder belonged to him and the other children rather than Silvo, SM-33 pointed out that the ship was currently unclaimed, since Silvo had become captain of the pirate frigate instead.
Wim attempted to claim the ship, but Silvo covered the child's mouth and reclaimed it for himself. SM-33 accepted this, but the child Fern then pushed past Pax and called "unclaimsies" before claiming the ship, which SM-33 decided was "close enough" and knocked out Silvo. Pax and Kona then opened fire on the droid, but he deflected their bolts with wrist shields and knocked the pair out, dumping all three unconcious pirates on the hangar floor of the frigate. Silvo then woke quickly enough to re-board the Onyx Cinder before it took off and entered the Barrier.
Pax was dressed in a green tunic paired with tan pants, black boots, black gloves, a brown belt, and a black eye patch. He carried a blaster pistol and a knife for combat.
The character of Pax was brought to life by performance artist Mike Estes in the Disney+ live-action series titled Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. His initial appearance was in the first two episodes—"This Could Be a Real Adventure" and "Way, Way Out Past the Barrier"—which premiered simultaneously on December 2, 2024. Before the series began, Pax was first unveiled at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event between August 9 and August 11, where his costume was displayed alongside those of other pirates from the show. The character's name was later revealed in an Entertainment Weekly article published on September 18, 2024. In the show's sixth episode, "Zero Friends Again," which aired on December 31, 2024, Pax participated in a shanty that was originally intended as a poem to be read solely by Silvo's actor, Jude Law, until Law suggested the change.
