R2-D2 endeavors to shield his incapacitated master, Luke Skywalker. Triple Zero ridicules R2-D2, while Dr Aphra observes that R2-D2's bravery is overshadowed by his denial of the situation. He labels R2-D2 as pitiable and instructs the astromech droid Beetee to demonstrate the behavior of a "proper droid."

R2-D2 and Beetee engage in a debate using Binary. Triple Zero comments on R2-D2's vulgar language and questions whether the R2 series astromech droid can substantiate his words with action. R2-D2 brandishes a spark projector, but Beetee counters with an array of blasters, flamethrowers, and rocket launchers. R2-D2 is compelled to retreat.

Concurrently, Han Solo and Chewbacca are piloting the Millennium Falcon over the terrain. Solo directs Chewbacca to be vigilant for Skywalker. Solo notices distant explosions. Triple Zero commends Beetee as he launches rockets and blaster fire, praising the droid's enthusiastic approach to destruction. He expresses a desire to extract Skywalker's blood, but Dr Aphra reminds him that Darth Vader requires him unharmed.

Before Aphra and her team can return to the Ark Angel, Solo, having positioned himself atop a rock formation, demands that Aphra release Skywalker. Aphra recognizes Solo's voice and taunts him for not attacking her immediately, introducing herself as Dr Aphra. She threatens to have Triple Zero electrocute Skywalker if Solo does not retreat. Triple Zero concurs and expresses interest in draining Solo's blood.

Solo retorts by questioning how Triple Zero will electrocute Skywalker without arms. Aphra is caught off guard, but Triple Zero recalls Solo's association with Chewbacca. At that moment, the Wookiee appears and rips off one of Triple Zero's arms. While Triple Zero confronts Chewbacca, Solo and Aphra exchange gunfire.

At the Rebel Refueling Base, Princess Leia Organa puts on rebel infantry attire and leads Delta Squad toward Quadrant Seven. The rebel squad leader and C-3PO implore Leia to remain at the base, but Leia is resolute in her mission to hunt down and eliminate Vader. The rebels then set off on landspeeders.

Meanwhile, Skywalker regains consciousness and discovers Beetee attacking R2-D2. He kicks Beetee off a cliff and converses with the astromech, inquiring about the identities of the droids. At that point, Beetee reappears with rocket boosters and fires upon the rebels, forcing Skywalker and R2-D2 to escape. Elsewhere, Chewbacca assaults Triple Zero with his severed arm. However, Triple Zero injects the Wookiee with 500 milligrams of Mandalorian xenotox, rendering him unconscious.

Elsewhere, Han Solo takes aim at a wasp-worms hive above Aphra's head, unaware of another hive above his own. Aphra, however, notices the hive above Solo. Both fire at their respective targets and are overwhelmed by the enraged wasp-worms. Before Triple Zero can subdue Chewbacca, Skywalker severs his left arm with his lightsaber before impaling Triple Zero through the chest.

Skywalker assists Chewbacca in standing. Together with R2-D2, they encounter the unconscious Solo and Dr Aphra. Skywalker helps Solo up and informs him that the assassin droids are employed by Dr Aphra. Triple Zero and Beetee pursue them, with Triple Zero instructing the astromech to eliminate the rebels. However, R2-D2 sprays Beetee with a purple paint, blinding the droid and causing it to unleash its firepower indiscriminately. The rebels then flee the rocks.

Meanwhile, Leia and Delta Squad receive reports from the second platoon of heavy casualties and Darth Vader's destruction of their tanks. Despite the unfavorable circumstances, Leia is determined to proceed with the mission. Suddenly, an unseen force Force chokes the rebel troops escorting her. Princess Leia is confronted by a lightsaber-wielding Vader.
