The Onderon Civil War reached its conclusion with a climactic battle fought in 3951 BBY on both the planet Onderon and its moon, Dxun. This event marked one of the final significant occurrences during the First Jedi Purge. This battle not only brought the Civil War to an end but also served as a pivotal moment that ultimately led to the cessation of the purge. It acted as the impetus, provoking the Sith to expose their presence, which in turn allowed Meetra Surik, the Jedi Exile, to destroy them.
Throughout the duration of the civil war, Jedi Master Kavar, who served as an advisor to Queen Talia, believed that they possessed the capability to secure victory independently. His confidence stemmed from the fact that the majority of Onderon's military forces maintained their allegiance to the Queen, rather than her cousin, General Vaklu. The Jedi Master came to understand that the conflict extended beyond a mere power struggle between two members of Onderon's royal family. Instead, it represented a clash between the Galactic Republic, which was fighting to keep Onderon within its world, and Vaklu's clandestine allies. Kavar's intention was to force these hidden allies into the open, but their true identity proved to be the Sith—a formidable adversary that the Onderonians were ill-equipped to confront.
Consequently, Kavar made the decision to summon another Jedi, Meetra Surik, who had recently visited Iziz and encountered him. The Exile, having just completed her search for the remaining Jedi Masters, viewed this summons as an opportunity to bring together the three remaining Masters—Kavar, Vrook Lamar, and [Zez-Kai Ell](/article/zez-kai_ell]—and once again answered the call to war.
The Ebon Hawk, the Exile's vessel, made its landing in the jungles of Dxun, Onderon's main moon, in close proximity to the Mandalorian camp led by Mandalore the Preserver. Upon arrival, she discovered that the Sith had established a base nearby, situated near the ancient tomb of the Sith Lord Freedon Nadd. Recognizing the urgency of the situation in Iziz, where Kavar and Talia required immediate assistance, the Exile delegated three of her companions to support the Mandalorians in their fight against the Sith. Subsequently, she, along with Kreia and one other companion, departed for Iziz aboard a Basilisk war droid that had been modified to accommodate three individuals.

The Exile's companions were successful in their assigned task. They overcame the Sith guarding the entrance to the tomb and, upon entering, disrupted a ritual being performed by four Sith Masters near Freedon Nadd's sarcophagus. After the tomb's master attempted to sway them to the dark side, Meetra's allies retaliated by eliminating the Sith and claiming Freedon Nadd's short lightsaber from his sarcophagus.
Simultaneously, upon the Basilisk's landing in the devastated merchant district of Iziz, Vaklu's patrolling forces fled in the belief that the Mandalorians had allied themselves with Talia. Aided by Captain Bostuco and his loyalist soldiers, the Exile launched an assault through Vaklu's defenses on the Sky Ramp, an extended bridge that connected the merchant quarter to the royal palace. Despite facing overwhelming odds, the Exile's formidable Force abilities proved too much for Vaklu's troops, the Sith, and the beasts. After a bloody campaign on the Sky Ramp, which involved rescuing a besieged Royalist unit in a pillbox and eliminating Vakluist aircraft, the Exile reached the palace.

Inside the palace, the Exile discovered Vaklu and Colonel Tobin attempting to breach a force field, the final barrier separating them from the throne room, using a drexl beast. Compounding the situation, Tobin sealed off the exit, and Kiph, a Twi'lek computer slicer hired by Vaklu, activated traps and prevented Captain Kadron of the royalists from reopening the door.
Ultimately, the Exile located Kiph and thwarted his access to the security system. Kadron reopened the door, allowing the Exile to reach it just as the drexl breached the force field. However, the beast turned on Tobin, who was left for dead but narrowly survived. Vaklu's soldiers charged into the throne room, only to be met by the Exile, who swiftly dispatched the beast.
Within the throne room, Vaklu engaged Talia in a duel. At a crucial moment, Master Kavar arrived and fought his way into the throne room. Kavar and the Exile swiftly dealt with Vaklu's soldiers. Vaklu himself sustained severe injuries at the hands of the Exile.
Talia decreed that her cousin should face immediate execution. Despite Vaklu's desperate pleas, he was put to death by a Royalist firing squad.
With the civil war concluded, the Sith threat remained. Kreia formulated a plan to confront the Sith Lord, Darth Nihilus, whom she knew to be Vaklu and Tobin's secret ally. Kreia deceived Tobin, informing him that the Jedi were concealed within Atris' academy on Telos IV. This deception ultimately set the stage for the even more dramatic Battle of Telos IV.
Following these events, Kavar departed Onderon, seeking to meet with two other Jedi Masters on Dantooine. The Exile boarded a shuttle back to Dxun, where she received congratulations from G0-T0 for stabilizing the political situation on the planet, before departing on the Ebon Hawk.
Alternatively, the player has the option to persuade the queen against executing Vaklu, arguing that it would only turn him into a martyr. Instead, they can suggest focusing on rebuilding the planet and regaining the support of her people. In this scenario, Talia orders Vaklu's imprisonment and awaits a proper trial. The player can also agree with Kreia that Vaklu poses too great a threat to be left alive and personally instruct soldiers to execute him. Choosing the dark side path leads to an alternate ending where the Exile sides with Vaklu against Talia and ultimately kills Kavar in the throne room. The Exile can then choose to either kill Talia personally or allow Vaklu's soldiers to do so. Vaklu expresses his gratitude for the Exile's actions and offers Onderon as a safe haven should the Exile ever need a place to hide.
If the player possesses proficiency in Battle meditation, they can utilize this power to aid the allies of their chosen side without directly engaging enemy soldiers.
