Blaster
Blasters exhibited a wide array of forms and dimensions.
A blaster, otherwise known as a gun, encompassed any type of ranged armament that projected concentrated bursts of plasma or energy based on particles, frequently confused with lasers.
Blasters, which function under similar principles to laser weaponry and utilize magnetic induction at least in part for firing, transformed gas rich in energy into a radiant particle beam capable of penetrating and melting targets. When discharged, the "blaster bolt," as it was commonly known, acted as a fragment of energy impacting a target. Blasters were manufactured in a multitude of configurations and sizes, including stun blasters, blaster pistols, blaster rifles, reconfigurable blasters, scatterblasters, shock blasters, ion blasters, percussive cannons, heavy repeater cannons, repeating blasters, and blaster cannons. Blaster-type artillery could also be mounted on droids and various vehicles. The damage intensity they delivered varied, ranging from stun settings to lethal force. Some blasters, such as Satine's Lament and the Glie-44 blaster pistol, were named in honor of particular figures. Certain blasters also existed as hybrids, combining with melee weapons like the bo-rifle, the blaster spear, and Ketsu's staff.

Blaster bolts could also exert a variable degree of concussive power upon impact, potentially inflicting supplementary damage around the area of impact, contingent on the target's hardness and density. Consequently, some blaster impacts could induce bleeding rather than burning, or both simultaneously, given sufficient force to rupture organs and fracture bones, particularly if the target was protected by armor. Despite the concussive nature of their energized particle blasts, these ranged weapons could be neutralized by magnetic seals and deflector shields. A lightsaber's blade could also be used to redirect incoming blaster bolts. Within the Security Forces of Naboo, certain blasters were outfitted with ascension guns. Some blasters were capable of firing reduced-power training bolts, distinguished by their orange color.
Dedlanite served as a material in the construction of blasters. BlasTech Industries stood out as a prominent manufacturer of blasters.
A Trandoshan doubler or tripler together with an actuating module augmented a blaster's destructive capability. Hair triggers facilitated quicker firing rates. Blasters also had serial numbers on them.
Components of blasters included a stock, scope, safety, cautionary pulser, blaster power pack, cooling unit, barrel, barrel-shroud, glowrod, and bayonet.

Blaster bolts manifested in diverse colors. Red represented the most prevalent color, resulting from the utilization of less expensive gas. This color was adopted by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Empire, and the First Order. Blue found use by the Galactic Republic and the Resistance. Green was employed by Naboo Security Forces, the Umbarans, and the Starfighter Corps of the Galactic Empire, indicating a more costly and potent type of blaster gas. Yellow was favored by Mandalorians. Purple characterized the Geonosian Starfighters, the Malevolence, and notably the Magna Guards. Purple was also a color chosen by the Techno Union octuptarra tri-droid variants present on the planet Skako Minor. Orange was the color of choice for the Marksman-H training remote and training droids on Kamino, signifying a low-power, non-lethal variety of blaster bolt. Cyan served as a reduced-power version of the blue blaster bolt, utilized by clone cadets during their training exercises against training droids.
Kyber crystals typically provided power to lightsabers, but they also had the potential to energize other weapon systems. Attempts have been made to construct kyber bombs and kyber blasters, and a small number of weapons, such as a lightsaber rifle, existed within the Jedi Archives.
Slugthrowers differed from blasters through their mechanism of firing slugs, which were solid projectiles propelled at significant velocities.
