After the Battle of Starkiller Base, Dar'en guides Captain Phasma, and TN-3465 to the R'ora's island stronghold, where Lieutenant Sol Rivas was taken. As rain falls, Phasma touches the water, noting its lower salinity than anticipated. When TN-3465 seeks clarification, Phasma responds that the lower salinity has implications. Dar'en advises immediate departure due to the perils near the water's edge. Phasma learns from Dar'en that low tide occurs at dawn and that the Tsw'ells inhabiting the lake only slumber during the early morning hours.
When TK-3465 expresses a desire for their TIE/sf space superiority fighter's weapons to be operational, Phasma asserts the need for an alternative approach. Back at Lupr'or Village, Phasma inquires of a young Lupr'or girl the origin of her necklace. The girl escorts the offworlders to the residence of her great-grandmother, Ali'ane, the eldest Lupr'or native born among the stars. Ali'ane informs the First Order travelers that her necklace originated from the "old world". Phasma's inquiry about locating more necklaces is met with Ali'ane's declaration that it is forbidden.
Phasma persuades the girl to inform Ali'ane that Phasma has been divinely sent to combat the R'ora and Tsw'ells, necessitating their assistance. Ali'ane asserts that they were annihilated by the ancestors due to their status as "soul killers." Subsequently, the girl observes Phasma's superior rock-climbing skills compared to her companion. Phasma reveals to the girls that she matured on a World characterized by rocks and a harsh existence.
Over the ensuing hours, Phasma, TN-3465, the Lupr'or girl, and Dar'en traverse the rocky terrain toward the location of an ancient Lupr'or starship. While Phasma and the Lupr'or child navigate the rocks with ease, TN-3465 struggles with the physical demands and voices complaints. Upon sighting the ship, TN-3465 questions whether everyone should assist in moving it.
Later, back at the village, BB-K8 inaccurately translates TN-3465's message, instructing Da'ren to gather everyone, not solely the men. TN-3465 vehemently disputes BB-K8's translation, reprimanding the droid for misinterpreting the Lupr'or term for everyone as men. The TIE pilot is startled by Captain Phasma, who has already donned her chromium armor. TN-3465 complies with her captain's command to resume her uniform.
Addressing the Lupr'or villagers, Captain Phasma declares her shared experiences. She acknowledges their pursuit of a different life, deeming it unsustainable. She cautions them of impending extermination by a more powerful indigenous species. She urges them to utilize all available resources and embrace transformation, including that which they have abandoned. She implores them to unite in arms, asserting her divine appointment to lead them to victory. The Lupr'or begin chanting Phasma's name.
Examining a holomap generated by BB-K8, Phasma formulates a strategy involving the use of electric currents from generators salvaged from the abandoned Lupr'or ships to attack the Tsw'ell guarding the R'ora stronghold. When TN-3465 inquires about their subsequent actions, Phasma states that they will address the situation as it arises. She clarifies that her plan aims to minimize casualties to maximize their numbers for confronting whatever lies beyond the wall. When TN-3465 commends Phasma's inspiring battle speech, Phasma admits to using the Lupr'or as expendable forces to navigate the Tsw'ell-infested lake.
Executing Phasma's plan, the Lupr'or discharge electricity from the generators into the lake, electrocuting the dormant Tsw'ell sentries. With the monsters eliminated, the Lupr'or celebrate and sail across the lake toward the R'ora stronghold. While scaling the wall with her diverse army, Phasma experiences a flashback of climbing a cliff-face on Parnassos with Siv, Torben, and Frey. When Phasma calls out Siv's name, TN-3465 inquires about Siv's identity. Phasma dismisses her as someone from her past who is no longer relevant.
She commands TN-3465 to accelerate. The pilot complains that she hopes to never climb again. Upon reaching the wall's summit, Phasma and TN-3465 confront a formidable R'ora army.
