The Core Fleet, alternatively called the Core Forces, the Galactic Alliance Remnant Fleet, or simply the Galactic Alliance Fleet, functioned as a significant fleet within the Galactic Alliance Navy during the period of the Sith–Imperial War. It was established to defend the Core Worlds and was under the leadership of Admiral Gar Stazi. A portion of this military force managed to survive the ambush during the critical Battle of Caamas, eventually forming the foundation for Stazi's Galactic Alliance Remnant. Consequently, the Galactic Alliance Remnant was sometimes referred to as the Core Forces, alluding to the fleet that played a pivotal role in its creation.
Throughout its operational history, the Galactic Alliance Core Fleet utilized a diverse range of capital ships. Prominent among these were the Scythe-class main battle cruisers, the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyers, and a single Imperious-class Star Destroyer.
The CF9 Crossfire starfighter was the primary starfighter employed by the Galactic Alliance throughout both the Sith–Imperial War and the Second Imperial Civil War.
The Core Fleet included various smaller vessels, such as corvettes and frigates. One example of a corvette used was the CR90 corvette. Examples of frigates used were the ShaShore-class, Tri-Scythe-class and EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigates
Additionally, the Core Fleet deployed Sabertooth-class assault/rescue vessels, a YT-2400 light freighter, a YZ-2500 heavy transport and Venator-class Star Destroyers
