Hawk

A pilot and Clone Lieutenant, Hawk fought for the Galactic Republic within the Starfighter Corps during the Clone Wars. Hawk, bred using the genetic template of the human bounty hunter Jango Fett, frequently provided support for Jedi General Anakin Skywalker's 501st Legion through assignments such as escorting, delivering, or extracting personnel.

Biography

Early life

As a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, Hawk was produced and trained on Kamino to serve in the Galactic Republic's burgeoning military. After the Clone Wars began with the outbreak, Hawk took on the role of a pilot for the Republic Navy and the Grand Army of the Republic's 501st Legion, holding the rank of Clone Lieutenant.

Battles of Christophsis and Teth

Hawk rescues the remaining troops.

During the Battle of Christophsis, Hawk was piloting a LAAT/i gunship when Jedi General Anakin Skywalker requested a rescue for himself, fellow Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, Clone Commander Cody, Clone Captain Rex, and their clone troopers, whose position was being overwhelmed by Separatist battle droids. As Republic forces retreated from their location, Hawk extracted the surviving personnel from the roof of a structure.

In the wake of the Republic's triumph on Christophsis, Hawk was among the LAAT/i pilots deployed to the Battle of Teth to transport members of Torrent Company, including Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, to the planet. As the gunships descended into the atmosphere, heading for the B'omarr Order Monastery, they came under fire from battle droids stationed at the monastery. Hawk informed Skywalker, who was aboard his gunship with Torrent Company, of the enemy fire, and Skywalker instructed him to activate the blast shields on the gunship. Subsequently, Hawk landed the gunship, allowing Skywalker, Tano, and the other Torrent Company members to ascend the Teth monastery.

Battles of 20 BBY

Hawk's LAAT/i at Umbara

During 20 BBY, Hawk participated in the Battle of Umbara, where he transported troopers of the clone 501st Legion to Umbara's surface aboard the gunship designated Valkyrie 2929.

Later, Hawk delivered Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Rex to the planet Onderon, where they were assigned to train Saw Gerrera and Lux Bonteri's rebel group, who were opposing the Separatist leader recently installed on the planet.

Battle of Scipio

Hawk was one of many pilots on the Battle of Scipio.

In 19 BBY, Hawk joined Skywalker's fleet in their mission to reclaim the Outer Rim planet Scipio, the central hub of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, which had recently fallen under Confederacy control. Upon entering the Scipio system, Hawk and his fellow pilots launched from the three Venator-class Star Destroyers to retake Scipio. General Skywalker, en route to Scipio aboard a gunship, contacted Hawk via comlink, requesting air support upon reaching the planet's surface. Hawk assured Skywalker that the pilots would be ready to provide support as needed. Hawk and the other pilots then engaged the Separatist flotilla's vulture droids in their Clone Z-95 Headhunters. After breaching the Separatist blockade, Hawk and his comrades managed to penetrate the planet's atmosphere. Under orders from Count Dooku, the Separatist blockade withdrew from Scipio, abandoning the droid forces guarding the Main Vault of the InterGalactic Banking Clan on the planet's surface.

Personailty and traits

Hawk, a human clone derived from Jango Fett's DNA, stood at a height of 1.83 meters (equivalent to 6 ft). His training as a pilot encompassed the operation of gunships, transports, and starfighters. A crucial attribute for Hawk was his unwavering composure, essential for navigating transports through intense combat zones, remaining grounded during troop embarkation and disembarkation.

Skills and abilities

Hawk's expertise as a clone pilot lay in his proficiency in piloting both gunships and starfighters. Furthermore, Hawk possessed a comprehensive understanding of military strategies.

Behind the scenes

Hawk made his debut in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film, released in August 2008, which served as a prelude to the television series of the same title. Like all clone troopers featured in the series, Hawk's voice was provided by Dee Bradley Baker.

The deleted scene featuring Hawk.

Originally, Hawk was intended to meet his demise in a scene from the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In this sequence, Anakin Skywalker would have called upon Hawk for extraction from the B'omarr Order Monastery on Teth; however, during the extraction process, Hawk's gunship would have been shot down by a vulture droid. This scene was ultimately omitted from the final cut of the movie, sparing Hawk from his intended fate.
