During the Galactic Civil War, a Rodian by the name of Neihero served the New Republic as a starfighter pilot. Flying under the callsign Meteor Four, Neihero was part of Meteor Squadron. For approximately a month, this pilot and Wyl Lark, a fellow pilot, shared a brief, flirtatious connection. In the year 5 ABY, Neihero, along with the rest of Meteor Squadron, was dispatched to defend the planet Catadra against forces from the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing. While heading to their destination, the Rodian communicated with another New Republic pilot about the dangers posed by one of the 204th's vessels, but was told to be quiet by "Meteor Leader". Once engaged with the 204th's TIE fighters, Neihero, along with the majority of Meteor Squadron, met their death.
Neihero, a Rodian, functioned as a pilot for the New Republic during the Galactic Civil War. This pilot was assigned to Meteor Squadron, an X-wing starfighter squadron that was a component of General Hera Syndulla's battle group, and went by the callsign Meteor Four. For a month or so, the Rodian and Lieutenant Wyl Lark of New Republic Intelligence's Alphabet Squadron exchanged flirtatious remarks in passing. Around 5 ABY, during a campaign in the Cerberon system where Meteor Squadron fought at the planet Troithe, squadron members were eventually sent to safeguard Catadra from the Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier Aerie, belonging to the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing.
While they were on their way to Catadra, following a discussion between "Meteor Leader" and Wyl Lark, Nath Tensent, a pilot from Alphabet Squadron, wondered if the cruiser-carrier was just a diversion while the 204th's other vessel, the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Edict, was attacking Troithe. Neihero voiced skepticism about the Edict's ability to overcome Troithe's planetary defenses, which prompted Meteor Leader to instruct the pilots to refrain from socializing on their communication channel. The New Republic fighters then got to Catadra, although Lark and Tensent decided to head back to Troithe, and they engaged the Aerie's squadron, which was composed of nine TIE fighter drones and three manned TIEs.
In the ensuing battle, the vastly outnumbered Imperial squadron lost all but two TIE pilots, one of whom was disabled. Simultaneously, Meteor Squadron was almost completely destroyed, with Neihero among those who died. Several months later, Lark commanded a starfighter wing against the 204th during a major fleet engagement at the planet Jakku. During the dogfight, as both fighter wings decimated each other and exchanged words over a shared communication channel, pilots from both sides shouted out the names of those they had lost to the opposing side, with one pilot mentioning Neihero's name.
