Nipaltoo was among the six acolytes serving Ferren Barr, a Jedi Padawan who had fallen from grace. As a youngling, their sibling Palabee was inducted into the Jedi Order. Learning of the Jedi's demise in 19 BBY, Nipaltoo was coerced by Barr to join his followers, under the false pretense that the Galactic Empire had murdered Palabee along with the rest of the Jedi. Barr's hideout on Mon Cala planet served as the base for Barr's disciples until Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, and his Inquisitors, who were hunting Jedi, uncovered their location in 18 BBY. Barr and his disciples fled the refuge, navigating beneath the waves in diving gear, only to discover Vader had arrived in an Imperial submersible. Nipaltoo fired upon the vessel, but Vader employed the Force to crush their [headgear](/article/helmet], resulting in their death.

In the time preceding the rule of the Galactic Empire, during Nipaltoo's youth, they witnessed their sibling, Palabee, being taken by the Jedi for training within the Jedi Order. When Nipaltoo inquired of their grieving mother about their sister's destination, she informed Nipaltoo that Palabee was departing to seek a more fulfilling life as a Jedi.
Following the implementation of Order 66—a command instructing the clone troopers of the Galactic Republic to eliminate the Jedi—in 19 BBY, Nipaltoo joined a crowd to observe a news report on a massive screen detailing the new Emperor Palpatine's declaration to the galaxy. After Palpatine announced that the newly formed Empire had annihilated the Jedi, Nipaltoo concluded that their sister had been slain, fostering a deep-seated animosity towards the Empire. Eventually, Nipaltoo crossed paths with Ferren Barr, a former Jedi Padawan who had succumbed to the dark side of the Force and begun presenting himself as a Jedi Master, at a local bar. Barr pledged to Nipaltoo that he would avenge their sister's passing, though Nipaltoo was initially uncertain as to how they would achieve their objective. Subsequently, they were manipulated by Barr, using the Force, into enlisting in the former Jedi's group of followers.
By 18 BBY, Barr and his disciples, including Nipaltoo, had established a base on the Outer Rim aquatic world of Mon Cala. During their stay there, Darth Vader, the Sith Lord, traveled to Mon Cala to pursue Barr, locating their cave sanctuary by subjecting King Lee-Char to torture. Upon learning of Vader's impending arrival, Barr informed Nipaltoo and his disciples that Vader was originally Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi who had embraced the dark side and assaulted the Jedi Temple on Coruscant planet. By using his astromech Endee to project a hologram of recordings of Vader's actions, Barr revealed that Skywalker had transformed into Vader and was now hunting Jedi alongside the Inquisitorius, a group of former Jedi who had become Jedi hunters. Barr assured his disciples that he had devised a strategy to avenge the Jedi and sow the seeds of rebellion.

Nipaltoo then joined Barr and the other disciples in observing the progress of Mon Cala's battle against the Empire on a hologram projected by Endee. Barr was then warned that Vader knew their location by Lee-Char and prepared to evacuate the refuge. After Nipaltoo and the other acolytes donned self-contained diving suits, Nipaltoo asked Barr where they were going. Barr explained that they would look for a nearby settlement and then find a way off of the planet. Nipaltoo and the others then dived into the sea via a hole in the grotto and used Underwater Turbo Sled Pikes to travel. However, they soon encountered Vader in an Imperial submarine, disciple Stell urging them all to scatter. Nipaltoo told Stell not to, though, insisting that if they could concentrate fire on the Imperial sub they could end the fight quickly. Nipaltoo then shot at the submarine with a blaster, only for Vader, who was on board, to crush their helmet by using the Force, killing them.
When their sister was taken as a child, Nipaltoo wore an orange shirt and pants with a brown necklace that had a white ornament. When they first met with Ferren Barr, they wore an orange jacket over a white shirt. As one of Ferren Barr's disciples, Nipaltoo wore Jedi apparel and carried a blaster. They also utilized a scuba-diving outfit and an Underwater Turbo Sled Pike to try to escape from the disciple's cave on Mon Cala.
Nipaltoo made their initial appearance, albeit unidentified, in the fourteenth edition of the comic book series Star Wars: Darth Vader (2017), penned by Charles Soule, illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, and published by Marvel Comics on April 11, 2018. They were first identified as Nipaltoo in the sixteenth edition of the series, also by Soule, which was released by Marvel on May 9 of that year.
