Stell

Stell, a human individual, existed during the ascension of the Galactic Empire. After Stell and their partner, Rebb, personally observed the forces of the Empire, they jointly decided against raising their children under its dominion. Consequently, they became followers of Ferren Barr, a Jedi Padawan who assured them of purpose and assistance in dismantling the Empire, accompanying him to the planet of Mon Cala. However, in the year 18 BBY, they were discovered by Darth Vader, the Imperial Sith Lord, and members of the Inquisitorius, an organization dedicated to hunting Jedi, who pursued them to Bel City on Mon Cala. In that location, Stell and Rebb remained behind to impede Vader and his team, enabling the rest of their group to escape.

Biography

Resisting the Empire

Stell and Rebb watch the Galactic Empire occupy their home.

Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Stell, a human, and their romantic interest Rebb witnessed the occupation of their home by the new regime. Rebb voiced immediate disapproval of the Imperial forces' takeover, insisting that their children should not live under the Empire's reign; Stell, however, expressed doubt about their ability to resist. Nevertheless, given Stell's deep affection for Rebb and their prioritization of their partner above all else, Stell acted as though they were dedicated to fighting the Empire and agreed to join Rebb in resistance. Subsequently, Stell and Rebb encountered Ferren Barr, an Iktotchi, at a cantina. Barr, who presented himself as a Jedi Master despite actually being a Padawan who had succumbed to the dark side of the Force, informed them that he could provide them with a purpose in opposing the Empire. Rebb, speaking for both of them, consented to join him.

In 18 BBY, Stell, Rebb, Barr, and four additional followers of Barr were stationed on the planet of Mon Cala. Emperor Palpatine dispatched the Sith Lord Darth Vader to Mon Cala to conduct an investigation. Vader arrived accompanied by three Inquisitors—former Jedi who had become Jedi hunters—and a squad of Purge Troopers. Lee-Char, the Mon Calamari King, promptly informed Barr of Vader's presence on the planet.

Final Stand on Mon Cala

Stell and Rebb make their last stand.

As Imperial forces drew nearer, Barr projected biographical details of Vader's history via a hologram and revealed to Stell and the other followers that Vader's hidden past identity was that of the Jedi Anakin Skywalker. Barr elucidated to his followers that, after Vader had betrayed and assisted in the destruction of the Jedi Order, he commenced hunting surviving Jedi in conjunction with the Inquisitors. Shortly thereafter, Barr received notification that Vader had located their position and was likely en route, prompting the Iktotchi to decide to evacuate his hideout. Stell and the other followers donned self-contained dive suits to enable them to swim and breathe underwater, after which Barr announced his intention for them to flee the planet. The followers then departed the hideout, traveling via Underwater Turbo Sled Pikes, only to discover that Vader and his team had arrived in an Imperial submarine.

As Stell and the others dispersed, the follower Nipaltoo engaged Vader's submarine but was killed when Vader crushed their helmet using the Force. As Barr directed Stell and the others towards Bel City, the follower Orvek turned back to provide the others with sufficient time to reach the [city](/article/city] alive. At the city's entrance, Rebb resolved to remain behind to further delay Vader's forces. Refusing to abandon Rebb, Stell vowed to stay and assist them.
