"On the Wings of Keeradaks" is one installment of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. It was initially shown as a story reel at Celebration Anaheim on April 17, 2015, and then made available online on April 29, 2015.
The announcement that a finished edition of the Bad Batch story arc would be included in Star Wars: The Clone Wars revival season was made on April 14, 2019 at Celebration Chicago. Its release occurred on March 6, 2020.
Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, and the Bad Batch are engaged in combat with numerous D1-series aerial battle droids, while Rex and Tech are working to liberate Echo from the tubes that connect him to the stasis chamber. Echo's memory is fragmented since his last mission to the Citadel. His vital signs are still reliant on the machine, and his body is under the control of computer-generated brainwaves. Because their mission to Skako Minor lacked authorization, Skywalker and the clones are unable to request backup.
In the meantime, outside the core systems chamber, the D-wing commander informs Wat Tambor, the head of the Techno Union, that the clones are surrounded and confined within the lab. Tambor instructs his forces to ready the Decimator, a prototype combat droid capable of eradicating organic life through vaporization.
Returning to the Techno Union facility, Skywalker and the clones are surrounded by a multitude of D-wing droids. Tambor unleashes the Decimator against the intruders. Simultaneously, Tech succeeds in disconnecting Echo, who reveals that they can make their escape via an exhaust pipe located above the chamber. After Echo unlocks the top exhaust door, Crosshair questions their method of ascent, and Wrecker declares his readiness, propelling a surprised Hunter upwards into the vent, which causes the irritated sergeant to complain about the lack of warning. Subsequently, Wrecker hurls the other clones upwards as well, although Anakin declines his assistance. Before their departure, Wrecker strategically places several detonators as a parting gesture to express his opinion of Tambor's "science experiment". Skywalker manages to use telekinesis to levitate Wrecker just as the Decimator enters the chamber. Following the clones' escape, an explosion obliterates Tambor's machinery and years of research. Enraged, the Techno Union leader pledges vengeance against Skywalker and the clones.
Skywalker and the clones navigate through the facility's cooling systems. When Rex inquires about his knowledge of the vents' location, Echo explains that the Techno Union's cybernetic implants granted him access to their database concurrently with the use of his memories. Anakin deduces that Echo can identify a secure escape route. The ARC trooper indeed possesses an escape route, but he expresses doubt about its appeal: Upon reaching a door, Echo indicates a path across a lengthy, narrow pipe leading to a building with a landing pad. While Tech voices concerns about their slim chances of survival, the clones and Skywalker attempt to traverse the pipe but find themselves cornered by D-wing droids on both ends. Crosshair loses his footing and nearly falls, but Wrecker overcomes his fear of heights to rescue his comrade, resulting in both of them dangling from a protrusion on the pipe's underside. Tech devises a solution by utilizing a recording he made earlier to summon several keeradaks for their escape, and the entire group leaps onto the flying reptiles. Despite surviving the jump, they are pursued by the D-wing droids, which possess flight capabilities. Skywalker and the clones flee on four keeradaks into the wilderness. Their droid pursuers crash into a cliff face, but the clones successfully return to the Poletec village they encountered previously.
The Poletec leader expresses admiration for the offworlders' ability to tame the Keeradaks but conveys his displeasure at their return to his village, which brings the war with them. Tech offers an apology on behalf of the group for overstaying their welcome. Shortly thereafter, several D-wing droids follow, but Crosshair manages to shoot them down, except for one, which flew back to Tambor. Rex apologizes for breaking their promise and delivers a speech condemning the Techno Union, displaying the cybernetic prosthetics that the Techno Union inflicted on Echo. The Poletec are swayed by the Clone troopers' arguments. Meanwhile, Tambor dispatches a force of D-wing droids and two octuptarra magna tri-droids to eliminate the clones and the villagers sheltering them.
During the ensuing battle, Skywalker, the clones, and their Poletec allies strategically lure the droid army into a valley and launch a coordinated attack from all directions. The Poletec swarm the droids, but many are killed by blaster fire. The clones then engage in the fight while the Octuptarras descend into the valley. The clones also deploy charges that cause the D-wing droids to short circuit. After instructing the clones to take out the Octuptarras, Anakin uses his lightsaber to disable one of the tri-droids' weapons. Wrecker throws Rex and Hunter onto an Octuptarra. Rex and Hunter manages to disable the droid by destroying its eye sensors. Meanwhile, Anakin causes his tri-droid to topple onto the other one, crushing more enemy forces in the process, and ending the threat of the Octuptarras. The surviving D-wings retreat to Wat Tambor empty-handed, who views the loss of Echo as a significant setback to his company's profitability. He resolves to devise a strategy to recover the Techno Union's losses.
Returning to the village, the Poletec chief commends the bravery and valor of Skywalker and the clone troopers, assuring them that they will always have an ally on Skako Minor. Rex also acknowledges Echo for his courageous performance during the battle. As everyone else boards the Marauder, Rex apologizes to Echo for the delay in his rescue, but assures him that upon their return, it will be just like "old times". Echo repeats the phrase, but sounds doubtful as he heads for the ship.
The completed version of the episode exhibits several differences when compared to the story reel. Anakin Skywalker does not engage in communication with Wat Tambor to negotiate a deal concerning Echo's rescue, which leads to Tambor demonstrating the organic decimator (the full name of which is no longer mentioned) by disintegrating a Poletec test subject. Additionally, a reference to Admiral Trench was omitted from the scene in which Tambor decides against immediately informing the Separatists about Echo's rescue.
During the sequence where Rex is crawling up the exhaust vent behind Tech and Echo, Rex's kama is absent.
On Tech's visor, Purrgil is incorrectly spelled as "purgill."
