Skirmish in Nixus Hub 218

During the year 4 BBY, in Nixus Hub 218 located on the planet Nixus, a scuffle broke out. This involved members of the Spectres, who were temporarily working alongside the pirate Hondo Ohnaka, and the crime lord Azmorigan along with his subordinates.

Background

In the Age of the Empire, the Devaronian crime lord Cikatro Vizago came into possession of multiple crates filled with power generators. He then arranged a transaction to sell these to Azmorigan at Nixus Hub 218. Not far from the planet Garel, Vizago crossed paths with the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka. Ohnaka incapacitated Vizago's bodyguard droids, rendered Vizago unconscious, and commandeered his starship, known as the Broken Horn. Due to damage sustained during the takeover, the ship's engines were disabled. Consequently, Hondo transmitted a distress signal, which was intercepted by the rebels Ezra Bridger and Chopper, who were stationed in Garel City and occupied with maintaining the Spectres' starship, the Ghost.

The other members of the Spectres had departed for Garel City's marketplace to acquire power generators, acting under the instructions of Phoenix Cell's commanding officer, Commander Jun Sato. The planet Rinn, currently experiencing an energy shortage, desperately needed these generators. As a result, the rebel cell dedicated their resources to finding them. However, Hera Syndulla had assigned Ezra the task of removing ion scoring from the Phantom, the Ghost's auxiliary ship, a task he had been putting off. After mocking Ezra's predicament, Hera instructed Chopper to assist him.

Seeing an opportunity to avoid their assigned tasks, Ezra and Chopper took off in the Phantom and met up with the Broken Horn in space. Once aboard, they encountered Ohnaka, who falsely claimed to have won Vizago's ship in a game of sabacc. When Hondo inquired about Ezra's identity, the boy identified himself as Lando Calrissian. Hondo, familiar with the name Lando, accepted the lie, though he expressed surprise at "Lando's" youthful appearance. After Ezra aided Hondo in evading an Arquitens-class command cruiser, Hondo unveiled his scheme to sell the power generators at an inflated price to a mysterious buyer on Nixus. Ezra agreed to assist Hondo in exchange for two crates of generators and half of the profits. Hondo agreed to the terms, and the trio set course for Nixus.

Clash

Upon their arrival at Nixus Hub 218, Hondo and Ezra proceeded to meet with their prospective buyer, while Chopper remained on the Broken Horn guarding one crate of generators. Ezra instructed Chopper to remain alert for any potential trouble. Hondo and Ezra transported four crates of generators with them. The pair soon discovered that their buyer was none other than Azmorigan, a familiar enemy whom Ezra had previously encountered during a skirmish at Lando Calrissian's farm on Lothal. Azmorigan demanded to know Vizago's whereabouts, and upon learning Hondo's identity, he captured both him and Ezra, intending to claim a bounty placed on Hondo's head by the Rang Clan. As they were being taken prisoner, Ezra secretly activated his wrist-comm to notify Chopper of their predicament. Noticing that Hondo's companion was wearing a helmet, Azmorigan ordered one of his henchmen to remove it, recognizing Ezra as one of the rebels who had confronted him at Lando Calrissian's farm. When Hondo insisted that Ezra was Lando, Azmorigan clarified that this was untrue. Hondo was unfazed by Ezra's deception, remarking that he had suspected as much. Azmorigan decided to kill his two captives by ejecting them into the vacuum of space via a large conveyor belt.

Before Azmorigan could carry out his plan, Chopper arrived with the fifth crate and rammed the cart into the one containing the other crates, knocking several of Azmorigan's men off balance. Amidst the chaos, one of Azmorigan's henchmen was knocked onto the conveyor belt, and Hondo launched him into space. While Chopper exchanged blaster fire with Azmorigan, Ezra and Hondo struggled to free themselves from their restraints, having ended up on the conveyor belt. Ezra managed to break free and used his lightsaber's blaster function to shoot at Azmorigan's men. During the struggle, Hondo was knocked onto the conveyor belt, and the controls were damaged, sending the pirate hurtling into space, just after Azmorigan's case of credits landed in his lap, thanks to Chopper stunning the crime lord from behind. Hondo was nearly lost in space, but Ezra used the Force to pull him back to safety, revealing to the pirate that Ezra was a Jedi. Meanwhile, Azmorigan made his escape in his ship.

After the Battle

Following the confrontation, the two rebels and Hondo returned to Garel aboard the Broken Horn. Hondo attempted to recruit Ezra to his crew, suggesting that the boy would find being a "pirate Jedi" more appealing. Hearing a strange banging sound, Ezra and Chopper investigated and discovered a imprisoned Vizago, who revealed the true story of how Hondo had stolen his ship. He also reclaimed his droid controller from Ezra. Together, Vizago and the rebels went to the bridge to confront Hondo. In an attempt to resolve the conflict, Ezra proposed that the two criminals divide the credits, while he and Chopper would take the power generators for the rebellion. However, Vizago was uninterested in diplomacy and unleashed his bodyguard droids on the stowaways.

Hondo managed to escape on the Phantom with the power generators. Ezra destroyed several of the droids with his lightsaber and attempted to reason with Vizago. Instead, the crime lord sent Ezra and Chopper back to Garel in one of his escape pods. Upon landing in Garel City, Chopper revealed that the Phantom was programmed to return to its mothership, the Ghost. Ultimately, the rebels allowed Hondo to keep the money but forced him to surrender the five crates of power generators, which were sent to Rinn to alleviate the energy crisis.
