Ardennia, a world situated within the Outer Rim Territories, served as the original planet for the Ardennian species, a sentient group. This world was also the birthplace of Juronus Opto, a human, and Topi Topi, a Wayuning. Furthermore, the people of Ardennia were known for their recurring celebrations referred to as Mynock roasts. Rio Durant, an Ardennian pilot and thief originating from Ardennia, was aware of these gatherings.
Within the Outer Rim Territories and [New Territories](/article/new_territories], Ardennia existed as a terrestrial planet. Its location was specified as grid square K-6 on the Standard Galactic Grid. A hyperspace route connected it to both the Carlac system and Orinda, a Mid Rim celestial body. The name Ardennia was also shared by the Ardennian Guild of Technicians, an organization active during the High Republic Era.

The sentient Ardennians, the native species of Ardennia, were already known beyond their world by 382 BBY. Rio Durant, an Ardennian pilot and thief from Ardennia, had previously served with the Freedom's Sons army, an organization aligned with the Galactic Republic, during the Clone Wars period spanning from 22 BBY to 19 BBY.
During an attempted theft in 10 BBY involving a shipment of valuable refined coaxium from a Galactic Empire 20-T Railcrawler conveyex transport on Vandor, Tobias Beckett, the human leader of the criminal crew that Durant was a member of, proclaimed that their impending score would make that day the best in the Ardennian's life. Durant responded with a jest, suggesting he doubted that claim since Beckett had never experienced a Mynock roast on Ardennia.
Furthermore, Ardennia was the original home of the human Juronus Opto and the Wayuning Topi Topi. This fact was mentioned in bounties posted for them around the time of the First Order occupation of Batuu in 34 ABY. An entry about the Ardennians also appeared in an artist's journal, within a section devoted to sentient species from wet environments. This journal was restored, expanded, and put on display at the Graf Archive no earlier than 34 ABY. In addition, the journal of Ardis San Tekka, a cartographer belonging to the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts, mentioned the Mynock roasts of Ardennia in a publication released no earlier than 35 ABY.

Ardennia was the originating world for the Ardennian species, whose members possessed four arms and prehensile toes on their two feet. The planet's population also included the human Juronus Opto and the Wayuning Topi Topi. The inhabitants of Ardennia regularly held Mynock roasts, events that Rio Durant once described as "nuts." These events centered around the cooking of mynocks, edible, silicon-based, ergovorous beings that originated from Ord Mynock and were capable of surviving in deep space as well as on planetary surfaces.
Ardennia was initially referenced in the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, part of the Star Wars Anthology Series.
