The group of bounty hunters, assassins, and other allies that the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Aphra collaborated with at any given time was known as Aphra's crew. Even the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader briefly joined forces with her; in 0 ABY, Vader enlisted Aphra to create secret forces without his Sith Master Darth Sidious's awareness. Ultimately, Aphra lost Vader's favor and resumed her pursuit of lost relics.
Subsequently, alongside her team consisting of Krrsantan, 0-0-0, and BT-1, she acquired the Kyber crystal containing the consciousness of an ancient Jedi named Rur. She attempted to auction it off to various criminal organizations, but her plan failed when 0-0-0, seeking liberation from his programmed restraints, unleashed Rur upon the criminals. Rur eliminated most of the criminals, and Aphra freed 0-0-0 from his leash, but not before he contacted Darth Vader. Vader arrived, confronted Rur, and defeated him in a brief duel, seizing the crystal. Aphra, Krrsantan, 0-0-0, and BT-1 made their escape in separate vessels, with 0-0-0 and BT-1 assuming control of the Rodian gang known as the Son-tuul Pride.
Aphra reactivated protocol droid 0-0-0 who became a member of the crew. Other members included Chelli's estranged father, Korin Aphra, who agreed to assist Aphra in uncovering the mysteries of Ordu Aspectu, and the bounty hunter Black Krrsantan, who participated in a raid on the Son-tuul Pride alongside Aphra before later rescuing and healing her after Vader's attempt on her life. He continued to support Aphra in her endeavors. Additional members consisted of BT-1, 0-0-0's assassin droid companion, the bounty hunter Beebox, who collaborated with Aphra on a heist on Anthan Prime, Vulaada Klam, Aphra's ward, and Klam's pet qaberworm, Gurtyl.

Just Lucky, a mercenary, also collaborated with Aphra on several occasions. Eustacia Okka had previously worked with Aphra at the University of Bar'leth and discovered the Rings of Vaale. Doctor Okka's assistant droid was TA-418, and Detta Yao was an archeology student who assisted Aphra and Dr. Okka during their expedition to locate the Rings of Vaale. Tam Posla was a former law enforcement officer who worked for Aphra as a mercenary. The assassin Sister Six operated under the command of Aphra and 0-0-0. Sana Starros, a former classmate and girlfriend from the University of Bar'leth, also occasionally worked with her. Following the scourge of the droids, Starros and Magna Tolvan, the two women she loved, would accompany Aphra on her journeys.
