Cyclorrian

The Cyclorrians were a renowned species of sentient insectoids, celebrated throughout the galaxy for their exceptional engineering prowess. Their pride stemmed from the sophisticated starships crafted at the Cyclor Shipyards located in the Mid Rim, which held a position second only to the Corellian shipyards during the High Republic Era.

Description

As a species of sentient insectoids, Cyclorrians existed in hive-like societies alongside their swarm. Native to the planet Cyclor, a world of green-and-brown hues in the Mid Rim, and sharing a name with the Inner Rim celestial body Cyclorria, they typically stood around a meter in height. They possessed large, round heads adorned with a pair of lengthy antennae used for navigation within their dimly lit hives, as well as large, pearlescent compound eyes. Additionally, the species had two smaller antennae positioned near the area beneath their eyes, where they wore gray masks. Cyclorrians exhibited beige and bluish-gray skin, a pair of arms each with three fingers, and adhesive feet; however, they generally wore shoes and clothing that covered their torsos and legs. Their communication relied on a language consisting of chirps and clicks, and their faces displayed a purple flush when under significant stress.

The Cyclorrians at the Cyclor Shipyards operated seamlessly as a unit, requiring no verbal communication. Each individual executed their tasks flawlessly, driven by an infectious enthusiasm that allowed them to work continuously for over twenty-four hours without voicing any complaints. This exceptional work ethic enabled them to produce some of the most exceptional spacecrafts for the Galactic Republic.

History

A Cyclorian

Across the galaxy, Cyclorrians were well-regarded for their exceptional engineering skills and the advanced Cyclor Shipyards during the High Republic Era. They produced a fleet of Z-29 Skyhawk starfighters from Incom Corporation for various worlds within the Republic and beyond. Second only to the Corellian shipyards, they also constructed the cutting-edge Elite-class vessel Innovator, following the design and stringent oversight of the Aqualish Vam Targes. Jedi Padawan Bell Zettifar was deeply impressed by both the Innovator and its Cyclorrian builders when he visited the ship's hangar in 231 BBY before its commissioning. Jedi Indeera Stokes also expressed amazement at the work being carried out at the shipyard.

During the Nihil raiders' attacked on the shipyard during the Jedi's visit, the Cyclorrians defended their work by piloting Z-29 Skyhawks with their gloved fingers. In the breached hangar of the Innovator, they armed themselves with blasters. Although not [soldiers](/article/soldier], the swarm-mates bravely engaged Nihil scav droids in hand-to-manipulator-arm combat, protected by their space-suits. Simultaneously, the two Jedi visitors battled the Nihil with their own Vector fighters.

Despite the Nihil's jamming of communications with their scrambler droids, the Cyclorrians ingeniously found a way to broadcast footage of the attack. This footage reached the nearby Derra Outpost and the Republic Chancellor Lina Soh's flagship, the Coruscant Dawn, in the Core Worlds. Aboard, Jedi Knight Nib Assek deduced that the engineers had circumvented the Nihil's jamming, leading Vice Chancellor Larep Reza to suggest sharing their knowledge with official channels. Jedi Master Stellan Gios analyzed the footage and requested assistance from Derra Outpost, where Master Tera Sinube had already dispatched a squadron of Jedi Vectors led by Master Porter Engle.

Master Engle praised the Cyclorrians' valor in battle. The shipbuilders informed the Jedi that Zettifar's efforts had resulted in the destruction of the Nihil's lead ship.

A Cyclorrian swarm later joined the Resistance, including Vazzet Dipterz and Wizzich Mozzer.
