Electro-whip
An electro-whip, alternatively known as a Zygerrian slaver whip or lightwhip, was a type of electrified whip. The Zygerrian Slave Empire favored it as a tool for dominating the slaves they captured. It was constructed with a metal handle and an electrified cord that emitted light when activated. When not in use, the wire could retract into the handle. While extremely painful, it typically did not inflict lasting physical harm, as the Zygerrians aimed to preserve the value of their merchandise. Electro-whips proved effective against lightsabers. The Mining Guild also utilized this weapon during the Imperial Era. The name "lightwhip" often designated a different kind of lightsaber, one with blades made of pure plasma.
Description

Electro-whips featured a metal grip paired with an electrified wire. This wire, capable of retracting, illuminated when the weapon was powered on and automatically withdrew into the grip when deactivated. These whips were intended to incapacitate, delivering significant pain without causing lasting physical damage. This design choice reflected the Zygerrian enslavers' desire to maintain the condition of their enslaved property. When powered, electro-whips could withstand a lightsaber strike. The term "Lightwhip" served as an alternative name for the weapon, although it more commonly described a specialized lightsaber variant equipped with flexible blades of pure plasma.
History
The Zygerrian Slave Empire's reliance on electro-whips in their slavery practices led to their association with the weapon, hence the name Zygerrian slaver whip. The Zygerrian slaver Darts D'Nar attempted to use his whip against Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano when she apprehended him during the battle on Kiros. However, she swiftly subdued him before her Master, Anakin Skywalker, arrived. Following this, Skywalker, Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Clone Captain Rex, and R2-D2 embarked on a mission to locate and save the abducted Togruta colonists of Kiros.
During the mission, Kenobi was captured while trying to rescue Governor Gupat Roshti and was subjected to whipping by his captors. Later, at the Royal Slave Auction, Queen Miraj Scintel offered her personal whip to Skywalker, who was disguised, requesting him to whip Kenobi as proof of his slaver identity. Instead, Skywalker initiated a brawl, resulting in the capture and subdual of all non-droid members of the team, largely through the use of electro-whips. Subsequently, during their escape from Zygerria, Skywalker attempted to duel the Sith Lord Count Dooku using Scintel's electro-whip, but his performance was poor. Dooku used his lightsaber to disarm Skywalker.

When Clone Force 99 undertook a rescue mission to retrieve the rancor Muchi from Zygerrian enslavers on Ord Mantell, the slave owner Raney attempted to use his electro-whip to subdue the mercenaries. However, Hunter managed to overcome the electricity and disarm Raney, leading to a brief hand-to-hand struggle in which the slaver was rendered unconscious.

During the Imperial Era, Proach, the Mining Guild foreman and Slave Master overseeing the ore crawler 413-24 on the occupied planet Lothal, employed a whip to control the slaves aboard his vehicle. When members of the Spectres hijacked the vehicle to utilize its transmitter, Proach engaged in combat with Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus, briefly managing to disarm him of his lightsaber. Nevertheless, the slaver was ultimately defeated with assistance from Garazeb Orrelios.
