Marrok was a male anooba who maintained a tight bond with Embo, the Kyuzo bounty hunter, throughout the era of the Clone Wars.
Serving as both a pet and a hunting ally, Marrok, a male anooba, loyally accompanied the Kyuzo bounty hunter Embo on various assignments. During the Clone Wars, Marrok joined Embo on numerous journeys. In 20 BBY, Marrok accompanied Embo on Tatooine, a planet, where they met with Boba Fett's Krayt's Claw group of bounty hunters. While most of the group left for a mission on Quarzite, Marrok and Embo stayed behind. Later, on Nal Hutta, Marrok, Embo, and other bounty hunters witnessed the leaders of the rising Shadow Collective – the Sith Lord Maul, his Sith apprentice brother Savage Opress, and the Mandalorian Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla – attempt to form an alliance with the Grand Hutt Council. The Hutts rejected the Shadow Collective's offer, ordering the bounty hunters to engage them in combat.
As the battle commenced, Marrok stood by Embo's side as the Kyuzo fired his bowcaster before charging towards Maul. Using the Force, Maul pushed the anooba away. With the Shadow Collective outnumbered, they retreated, prompting the bounty hunters to pursue them. Marrok surged ahead, stopping as the Shadow Collective's leaders found themselves surrounded. When three Mandalorian Nite Owls arrived and launched rockets at the group, Marrok sought cover with Embo. As the battle raged on, Sugi, an associate of Embo, was threatened by Maul's lightsaber. Marrok intervened, leaping at the Sith, knocking him down, and attempting to bite him. While Embo fought Opress in close combat, Maul struggled to shake off Marrok, eventually managing to force him away. After Opress threw Embo to the ground, the bounty hunters Dengar and Latts Razzi deployed smoke grenades, allowing the hunters to escape. Embo limped away, with Marrok retrieving his hat.
On Scipio, Marrok participated in the pursuit of Rush Clovis, driving him off the planet. He provided Embo with a probe droid, chased the trio as they escaped on a hover sledge, and retrieved Embo's hat after Embo attacked Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, and Rush Clovis.
During the Clone Wars' third year, Marrok joined Embo in another collaboration with Krayt's Claw on a mission to Serenno, a planet, to rescue the Jedi Master Quinlan Vos. The mission failed, and Marrok and his master were forced to flee alongside the other bounty hunters. By the time of the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY, Marrok's life had died ended.
Marrok made his debut in "Bounty," an episode of the animated television show Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Marrok's name is inspired by Sir Marrok, a Knight of the Round Table featured in Allen French's The Tale of Sir Marrok, who was transformed into a wolf. Marrok's character design was based on the anooba design from "Citadel Rescue," an earlier episode. The updated design, featuring changes to the head, ears, and texture, was created by Dave Filoni, an executive producer of the show.
