In the year 3 ABY, the Freemaker family embarked on a quest to Cloud City, situated on the planet Bespin, with the goal of retrieving what Lando Calrissian referred to as his "lost treasure." Unbeknownst to them, they were being tracked by a trio of bounty hunters: Dengar, Baash, and Raam. These hunters were specifically after Rowan Freemaker. Adding to the complexity, Naare, a Sith operative working undercover and also serving as Rowan's "Jedi" mentor, made her way to Cloud City as well. She was under the impression that the Freemakers were in pursuit of another fragment of the Kyber Saber crystal. Following a brief conflict with the bounty hunters, the Freemakers and Naare decided to cooperate in order to rescue Rowan and repair Cloud City's repulsorlift generator.
During the escape that took place at Cloud City, Lando Calrissian gave Lobot the assignment to recover his "treasure" from his private living space. However, Lobot inadvertently turned on the lava lamp inside the chamber, leading to his capture by stormtroopers. After becoming a part of the Rebel Alliance, Lando made it his mission to get back his "lost treasure." He journeyed to the Lower Ring of the Wheel and attempted to enlist the help of several bounty hunters, including IG-88. But, because Cloud City was under the control of the Empire, none of the hunters were willing to take on such a perilous task.
While visiting the Lower City alongside his older sibling Zander Freemaker, Rowan managed to persuade Lando to hire him and his siblings. The Freemakers, facing a shortage of funds to cover their rent and daily expenses, accepted Lando's offer and set off for Cloud City. They were shadowed by the bounty hunters Dengar, Baash, and Raam, who had been dispatched by the Hutt crime lord Graballa with orders to capture Rowan. Another group that followed them was the undercover Sith Naare, who was on a mission to find the pieces of the Kyber Saber crystal. She was under the assumption that the Freemakers had embarked on a search for the ancient lightsaber without informing her.
The Freemakers successfully navigated their way past the stormtrooper guards by feigning to be maintenance personnel. While Zander and Rowan proceeded into the depths of Cloud City to repair the Carbon-freezing chamber, Kordi secretly slipped away and exited the building via the exhaust system. She then climbed the building and made her way to Calrissian's private quarters. Meanwhile, Dengar and his fellow bounty hunters were able to bribe their way past the guards. Later on, Naare arrived in the Eclipse Fighter and employed a mind trick to make the stormtroopers throw themselves off the landing platform.
After turning off Lando's lava lamp, she successfully located the briefcase containing Lando's "lost treasure" inside his wardrobe. However, she was soon discovered by a pair of stormtroopers. Kordi managed to talk her way out of trouble by claiming that she had to go and fulfill a fumigation order. Meanwhile, Rowan struggled to repair the cooler tube in the carbon-freeze chamber using his Force abilities. Zander managed to fix the tube with the help of Rowan's Force powers. Despite fixing the tube, Rowan was frozen in carbonite.
At that moment, Kordi entered the carbon-freeze chamber carrying the briefcase that held Lando's treasure. Dengar and his fellow bounty hunters then seized the case, only to have it snatched by Naare, who believed it contained a Kyber Saber crystal. Upon recognizing the frozen Rowan, Dengar and his fellow hunters kidnapped the boy. The Freemakers and Naare joined forces to rescue Rowan. During the pursuit, Dengar managed to knock out Naare with the brief case.
The bounty hunters then attempted to escape offworld in their starship, but Zander used Naare's Jedi lightsaber to sever the cable connecting the repulsorlift generator. This action prevented the bounty hunters from leaving the planet but caused the city to drift into the depths of Bespin. As the bounty hunters tumbled through Cloud City's corridors, Naare and the Freemakers waited and rescued Rowan's body.
Following a chase and a struggle through Cloud City's hallways, the Freemakers and Naare also succeeded in recovering Lando's briefcase. The bounty hunters ended up confined in a cell. After unfreezing Rowan, the Freemakers got him to repair the cable connecting the repulsorlift generator. Despite experiencing temporary blindness due to hibernation sickness, Rowan managed to use his Force abilities to reconnect the cable. As a result, Cloud City's balance was restored, and the city returned to its normal position.
Having accomplished their mission, the Freemakers and Naare made their way back to their garage on the Wheel. Upon their arrival, they were greeted by Lando and Chewbacca, who provided them with enough credits to cover their living expenses. Naare passed out when she realized that the "lost treasure" was not a Kyber Saber crystal but Lando's cape. Meanwhile, Dengar and his fellow bounty hunters were held in prison on Cloud City. A breakthrough in the case occurred when Dengar discovered the Freemakers' business card and learned the name of the mysterious boy he had been pursuing: Rowan Freemaker.
The Mission to Cloud City acts as the central storyline in the LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Season One episode titled "The Lost Treasure of Cloud City," which was first broadcast on Disney XD on June 24, 2016.
