Plot summary

Exposition

During the escape that unfolded in Cloud City, Lando Calrissian gives Lobot the task of securing his prized possessions before they make their getaway on the Millennium Falcon. After some interaction with the lava lamp, Lando discovers that his cargo is secured behind a portrait. He successfully deactivates the lava lamp, but Imperial stormtroopers apprehend him before he can actually retrieve the cargo.

Taking a break

Zander comforts Rowan

At the Wheel's Freemaker Garage, Rowan Freemaker struggles to join two LEGO bricks together using the Force. Meanwhile, his sister, Kordi Freemaker, faces financial difficulties after failing to sell a Z-wing to Nien Nunb, a Sullustan customer. Kordi expresses her annoyance with her older brother, Zander, who advises her to remain calm. Out of frustration, she jokingly suggests selling Roger, which prompts gasps of alarm from both the droid and Rowan. His master, Naare, takes a private call from a dissatisfied Emperor Palpatine, with Darth Vader present.

In a fit of frustration, Rowan throws his LEGO bricks, but one accidentally hits Zander, prompting him to inquire about what's wrong. Rowan confesses that he doesn't want to disappoint Naare because her mission is so important to her. Simultaneously, Darth Vader questions Naare about why she hasn't located more Kyber crystals. Naare defends Rowan, saying that he is still young and learning. The Emperor points out that Rowan has been the one finding the crystals thus far. Vader suggests that Rowan might be deceiving Naare, and Palpatine warns her that he will be monitoring her progress closely. Naare becomes visibly angry.

Zander attempts to counsel Rowan, suggesting that he might be approaching things incorrectly because the Force cannot be forced to his will. He suggests taking a break to clear his mind. To cheer up his younger brother, Zander takes Rowan to a podrace in the Lower Ring. He cautions Rowan not to tell Kordi because she considers the Lower Ring to be dangerous. Suddenly, a fight erupts, and one of the spectators is thrown onto the race circuit, narrowly avoiding being run over by a podracer. However, the podracer crashes into a wall.

Lando's job

Freemakers travel to Cloud City

Lacking interest in the race, Rowan decides to explore the area. He stumbles upon a mouse droid outside a seedy cantina. Inside, he discovers a gathering of bounty hunters, including IG-88 and Graballa's Iktotchi henchmen, Baash and Raam, meeting with Lando and Chewbacca. Lando seeks to hire bounty hunters to retrieve his valuable cargo from Cloud City, a task that IG-88 points out is complicated by the Imperial occupation. The bounty hunters decline Lando's offer, with IG-88 explaining that his programming prevents him from working for the Rebel Alliance.

Using mouse droids to increase his height, Rowan decides to offer his services to Calrissian by pretending to be older. Calrissian is initially hesitant to hire the boy until Rowan emphasizes that he is not hiring him personally. He assures Calrissian that his team consists of adults and that they possess a ship. Meanwhile, Baash and Raam are discussing lunch when they encounter the bounty hunter Dengar, who is frustrated by his lack of success in finding Rowan. Dengar takes offense when one of the Iktotchi makes a joke about his appearance. As Dengar prepares to give his status report to Graballa, Baash and Raam inform him about a job with "big credits."

Before Zander can watch the final lap of the podrace, Rowan informs him that he has found them a "real job." Kordi is initially angry that Zander took Rowan to the Lower Ring, comparing it to giving someone death sticks. However, she agrees to take Lando's job because it promises a small fortune. Before they leave, Kordi instructs Roger not to reveal their destination to anyone. Since they are not going on a salvage run, Zander detaches the cargo bay from the StarScavenger. Unfortunately for Roger, Naare indirectly manipulates him into revealing the Cloud City mission. Based on Roger's explanation, Naare suspects that a Kyber crystal might be present and that Rowan is withholding information from her.

Race to Cloud City

Baash, Dengar, and Raam on Cloud City

With a forced, formal tone, Zander jokes about the cloudy weather forecast for Cloud City before they jump into hyperspace. Simultaneously, Naare departs on the Eclipse Fighter, vowing to make the Freemakers regret double-crossing her. Dengar and his fellow bounty hunters also set course for Cloud City on their ship. While in hyperspace, Rowan struggles to use the Force to connect the bricks. Zander encourages him to clear his mind, and Rowan instead uses the Force to exit hyperspace above Bespin. The Freemakers then pilot the StarScavenger towards Cloud City.

Disguised as maintenance workers, the Freemakers land their ship on a landing pad. However, three stormtroopers initially deny them entry until one of them mentions that the carbon-freezing chamber is malfunctioning. Dengar and Naare also arrive, employing their own methods of entry: a bribe and a mind trick, respectively. Naare tricks four stormtroopers into taking a "long walk" off the platform. Inside, stormtroopers escort the Freemakers to the carbon-freezing chamber. On the way, they observe stormtroopers jumping into the depths of Bespin. Kordi seizes the opportunity to separate from her brothers and their stormtrooper escorts.

Using magnetic shoes, Kordi exits the building through the exhaust system and climbs up to Lando's room, where his lava lamp is still active. Meanwhile, Palpatine contacts Naare via hologram, demanding to know why she is on Cloud City. Naare denies that she is on vacation and claims that she is searching for a Kyber crystal. At that moment, Naare hears the voices of Dengar, Baash, and Raam and mutes the Emperor until they are gone. This angers the Emperor, and Naare attempts to deny it. Palpatine demands that Naare repeat what he just said, and Naare responds with, "that you (Palpatine) will blast my midi-chlorians to the ends of the galaxy if I don't get you that kyber crystal." Vader comments that she is good, but Palpatine dismisses it as a lucky guess.

Separate missions

Naare joins forces with Kordi and Zander

En route to the carbon-freezing chamber, Zander, Rowan, and their stormtrooper escorts pass through the repulsorlift generator chamber. Rowan plays with the controls, causing Cloud City to slide into the depths of Bespin. Zander corrects the issue while a stormtrooper scolds Rowan. Zander argues that they cannot fix the carbon-freezing chamber without recalibrating the repulsorlift generator. Meanwhile, Kordi deactivates the lava lamp and discovers the treasure hidden in a safe behind a sliding portrait of Lando Calrissian. She hides under a bed when stormtroopers enter to search the room.

Inside the carbon-freezing chamber, Zander and Rowan joke about tauntauns and mynocks while repairing the machinery. Their stormtrooper escorts leave to conduct target practice. When Rowan asks about Kordi's progress, Zander assures him that she has everything under control. Meanwhile, stormtroopers discover Kordi under the bed, but she manages to trick them into letting her go by claiming that she needs to fulfill a fumigation order for itch mites. Baash and Raam notice Kordi and her precious cargo.

Back in the carbon-freezing chamber, Rowan identifies the problem with the machinery. He discovers that the cooler tube is severed. While Zander climbs to reach it, Rowan tries to reconnect the tube but fails initially. However, Zander realizes that he can connect the cooler tube due to Rowan's use of the Force. As Rowan and Zander are about to celebrate, Rowan is frozen in carbonite. The stormtroopers commend Zander for fixing the chamber, but he is distraught. At that moment, Kordi arrives with Lando's treasure, only to have it stolen by Dengar, Baash, and Raam. However, Naare then snatches the case from Dengar, proclaiming that she has found the next Kyber Saber crystal, much to the confusion of Dengar and his associates.

Trouble with gangsters

Rowan uses the Force to save Cloud City

Kordi questions Zander about why Rowan is frozen in carbonite and why Dengar, his gang, and Naare are present. After Baash and Raam recognize Rowan, Graballa's henchmen open fire on the Freemakers and stormtroopers. They then steal Rowan's frozen body and the case containing Lando's treasure. Outside, Naare scolds Kordi for attempting to steal the crystals for the Freemakers. Zander urges them to set aside their differences to rescue Rowan and the case. During the chase, Naare takes a break to speak with the Emperor, who demands his crystals. Continuing the pursuit, Dengar knocks Naare unconscious with Lando's briefcase.

Unable to keep up with the gangsters, Zander instructs Kordi and Naare to follow him into the repulsorlift generator chamber. Unsure how to locate the controls to tilt Cloud City, Zander uses Naare's lightsaber to sever the cable connecting the repulsorlift generator in order to prevent Dengar from escaping with the frozen Rowan. This causes Cloud City to descend into the depths of the planet Bespin. The tilt causes Dengar and his associates to fall through Cloud City's hallways. Lying in wait, Naare uses the Force to seize Rowan's frozen body.

Riding in Rowan's body, the Freemakers and Naare pursue the gangsters through the plummeting Cloud City, exchanging fire with them. The pursuit culminates in a hallway. Using the Force and her lightsaber, Naare charges at Dengar, Baash, and Raam, recovering the briefcase. She is about to declare victory when she nearly falls down a chasm. However, Kordi pulls her to safety. Meanwhile, the three gangsters fall into a prison cell and are locked inside. A copy of the Freemakers' business card floats down into their cell. Still, Cloud City is plummeting into the depths of Bespin.

Rowan's test

Lando and Chewie reward the Freemakers

The Freemakers and Naare return to the repulsorlift generator. Kordi scolds Zander for breaking the generator. With Zander unable to reach the tube, Cloud City is doomed to fall into the depths of Bespin. With Naare unconscious, Kordi unfreezes Rowan from carbonite. After awakening, Kordi and Zander inform Rowan about their predicament. Rowan is skeptical that he will succeed because he cannot see due to his hibernation sickness. Zander encourages his younger brother, telling him that he might not need his eyes. With his older siblings' encouragement, Rowan uses the Force to connect the two cables. This restores Cloud City to its normal floating position. Rowan and his siblings are triumphant.

Back at the Wheel, Lando and Chewbacca reward the Freemakers with gold bars for their services. Kordi is overjoyed with her generous reward. Lando's precious cargo is revealed to be his cape. Lando jokes that he cannot fight the Empire without the right style and that he doesn't have to wear Han Solo's old cloak. Naare faints from the shock of failure. Zander offers to get an unconscious Naare a cape from a friend. Meanwhile, in Cloud City, Dengar discovers from examining the Freemakers' business card that Graballa's target is named Rowan Freemaker. Baash and Raam also enjoy the "surprisingly tasty" Cloud City prison fare, which turns out to be hamburgers.
