Numidian Prime, a planet covered in jungle terrain, sat at the edge of the galaxy's Mid Rim. It was infamous as a refuge for outlaws like smugglers and thieves; for example, the bounty hunter Shenda Mol maintained a fortified stronghold there. During the Imperial Era, the future smuggler Han Solo famously won the Millennium Falcon from the [gambler](/article/Lando Calrissian)Lando Calrissian on Numidian Prime.

Description

Situated in grid square L-7 on the Standard Galactic Grid, at the edge of the galaxy's Mid Rim, Numidian Prime was a planet characterized by its warm climate and lush jungle environment, though it also featured swamp regions. Possessing a breathable [atmosphere](/article/atmosphere], this terrestrial planet offered a comfortable environment for human life, making it a popular, exotic vacation spot. Besides the dense flora, a species of birds also called it home.

History

In the era of the Galactic Republic, during the time, Shenda Mol, a bounty hunter, established a stronghold on Numidian Prime, supported by numerous followers. As part of a strike team, the Jedi Dooku and Qui-Gon Jinn tracked her to this stronghold, successfully capturing Mol and her entire group, subsequently imprisoning her on the world of Stygeon Prime.

A version of sabacc was created with rules based on Numidian Prime, and the gambler Lando Calrissian once had a winning hand using these rules. Calrissian also won a disabler device in a card game played on Numidian Prime.

After a mission that Tobias Beckett's crew undertook for the Crimson Dawn criminal organization, where Calrissian was hired to use his starship, the Millennium Falcon, the gambler abandoned Beckett's gang on Savareen and went to Numidian Prime. Han Solo and Chewbacca, two former members of Beckett's crew, eventually found their way to the planet, where Solo ultimately won the Millennium Falcon from Calrissian in a game of sabacc.

Sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the Jedi Luke Skywalker, accompanied by the astromech droid R2-D2, journeyed to Numidian Prime seeking a specific temple. Unable to locate it, Skywalker encountered Doctor Chelli Aphra, who captured Skywalker with the intention of recruiting him for a particular mission.

Inhabitants

Numidian Prime was a known refuge for criminals attempting to evade their financial obligations. The Falleen bounty hunter Shenda Mol made her home on the planet and commanded a sizable group of followers there.

Locations

A concealed and fortified [jungle outpost](/article/jungle_outpost] could be found on the planet, in addition to Shenda Mol's stronghold, which was nestled within a rocky valley deep within the jungles of Numidian Prime.

Behind the scenes

Numidian Prime made its debut appearance in Solo: A Star Wars Story, a 2018 film released in theaters as part of the Star Wars Anthology Series. The name "Numidian Prime" was first mentioned in Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide, a reference book authored by Pablo Hidalgo, but it was not connected to the planet featured in Solo until the publication of the novelization, Solo: A Star Wars Story: Expanded Edition, by Mur Lafferty, along with the junior novelization, by Joe Schreiber, and the Databank entry on StarWars.com.
