The Tecora was a YV-865 Aurore-class freighter with a reddish hue, utilized by Darts D'Nar during the period of the Clone Wars. This ship was employed by D'Nar to traffic slaves and various commodities to the planet Zygerria, until it was seized by forces of the Republic during the battle on Kiros. After its capture by the Republic, the vessel was used by Jedi Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, alongside their team, as a means of infiltrating Zygerria in order to locate enslaved Togruta colonists originating from the planet of Kiros.
Being an YV-865 Aurore-class freighter, the Tecora exhibited significant resilience, possessing rudimentary yet potent thruster engines situated on articulated boom arms projecting from the main hull of the vessel. This boxy transport, with its capacious storage area modified for the transportation of live cargo, featured a sizable cargo bay capable of accommodating creatures as large as a blixus, and was effectively operated by a sole pilot – specifically, its owner, Darts D'Nar.
During the time of the Clone Wars, the Tecora was the property of Zygerrian slaver Darts D'Nar. As a subordinate of Queen Miraj Scintel, D'Nar utilized the Tecora for the purpose of transporting slaves to be auctioned at the Royal Slave Auction, thereby facilitating the resurgence of the Zygerrian Slave Empire. Through his allegiance with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, D'Nar was dispatched to the neutral planet of Kiros with the intention to round up all 50,000 of its Togruta inhabitants. Aboard the Tecora, he landed in conjunction with a detachment of the Separatist Droid Army and abducted the denizens of the artisan colony, subsequently transporting them to Zygerria, while he and his ship remained behind to await the arrival of Republic forces.
After a period of ten rotations, Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi of the Grand Army of the Republic attempted to negotiate D'Nar's surrender, but was unsuccessful. During the battle on Kiros, D'Nar attempted to escape aboard the Tecora. He boarded the vessel and took off from the landing platform atop the governor's tower, only to be thwarted when Anakin Skywalker incapacitated one of the ship's thrusters using his lightsaber. While Skywalker defended against a blixus within the cargo hold, Ahsoka Tano engaged D'Nar in a brief duel, swiftly defeating him. Following D'Nar's arrest, the Tecora was impounded by the Republic.

Having discovered that the entire Togruta population was missing from Kiros, Skywalker, Kenobi, Tano, Clone Captain Rex, and the astromech droid R2-D2 infiltrated Zygerria by utilizing the Tecora. Skywalker, Kenobi, and Rex disguised themselves as Zygerrian slavers in order to locate the missing colonists; while Skywalker interacted with Queen Scintel and presented Tano (disguised as a slave) as a gift, Kenobi and Rex sought out the colonists. Upon being exposed and captured, only R2-D2 remained at liberty to contact Skywalker and assist in freeing Tano. Skywalker then instructed the astromech and his Padawan to prepare the ship while he retrieved his lightsaber (which was in Scintel's possession). Tano and R2-D2 piloted the freighter until Skywalker signaled Tano to be ready for their escape.
Skywalker landed on the awaiting ramp of the Tecora and boarded it with a dying Scintel. In a final act of gratitude, she revealed the location of Kenobi, Rex, and the Togruta within the Kadavo system, prompting the Jedi pair to pilot the Tecora to Kadavo. En route, they contacted Republic reinforcements, led by General Plo Koon, anticipating the upcoming battle. The Tecora was the first to arrive at the Kadavo slave processing facility, where Skywalker, Tano, and R2-D2 disembarked, shortly before the facility's heavy turbolasers destroyed the Tecora, seemingly leaving the Jedi stranded.
The Tecora has its name inscribed on its hull in Aurebesh script, along with the designation "DELTA S-9" on the trailing edges of its wings. This Zygerrian vessel shares its nomenclature with a Portuguese slave ship dating back to the early 1800s.
