A Pantoran individual held the position of captain aboard the Gaze Electric, which served as the flagship for Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro during the events of the High Republic Era. In the year 232 BBY, they followed Ro's directives and instructed the vessel's personnel to chart a course leading to the planet known as Trymant IV.
During the High Republic Era, a Pantoran Nihil marauder functioned as the commanding officer of the Gaze Electric, the flagship belonging to Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro, as one of a select few Nihil permitted to be on board. In 232 BBY, Ro masterminded a catastrophic encounter: the Byne Guild freighter Legacy Run collided with an obstacle, resulting in the Great Hyperspace Disaster. This disaster caused Emergences – fragments of hyperspace debris – to materialize from space and strike various celestial bodies throughout the galaxy.
After receiving information that an Emergence of this kind posed a threat to several locations within the Trymant system, the Storm Zagyar dispatched the Nihil members Baheeoo, Garank, and Ordo to notify the captain of the need to immediately prepare for a journey to the planet Trymant IV, as per Ro's instructions. The three Nihil quickly made their way to the bridge to deliver the command; they couldn't use comms to communicate the order because they were malfunctioning. In the end, only Baheeoo and Ordo survived the journey to the bridge, where they burst in to tell the captain to set a new course. The Pantoran was taken aback by their sudden appearance and instructed the crew to input the coordinates for Trymant IV.
The captain questioned why Baheeoo and Ordo hadn't contacted the bridge through the comm system, but another Nihil stated that the Nihil named Grik had only just completed the repairs on the ship's communications. As the Gaze Electric initiated its jump to hyperspace, the Nihil present on the bridge listened to an incoming holographic message from Ro, who assured the Nihil that they would gain incredible influence over the Galactic Republic, with their destiny awaiting them at their next destination.
The captain made an appearance in "Tales of Villainy: The Gaze Electric," a supplementary comic story featured in the sixth issue of the 2020 Star Wars Adventures anthology comic-book series. Daniel José Older wrote the story, Nick Brokenshire provided the illustrations, and IDW Publishing released it on July 7, 2021. When designing the color palette for the comic story, Brokenshire's goal was to emulate the style of Star Wars comics from the 1970s and 1980s, a time when color technology was limited and panels still needed to be visually striking. As a result, the Gaze Electric and its crew, including the captain, were colored in this style, although the artist clarified that the colors may not necessarily accurately reflect reality.
