Vroma was an inhabitant of Hon-Tallos and a member of the Nautolan species. During the age known as the High Republic Era, Vroma's actions of taking a durga berry from the groves caused Ghenli, a local tormentor, to pursue her and forcefully push her. Deva Lompop, a marauder affiliated with the Nihil, intervened to assist Vroma, and together they formulated a strategy to retaliate against Ghenli. Upon encountering Ghenli in the grove, it was revealed that Vroma had taken another berry. A chase ensued, with Ghenli and his companions pursuing Vroma, but Lompop systematically incapacitated Ghenli's allies. Eventually, Lompop intimidated Ghenli, leading to her confession of stealing the fruit. Subsequently, Vroma and Lompop returned to the city, where Vroma expressed her gratitude to Lompop for her assistance. Vroma expressed a desire to join the Nihil, but Lompop enlightened her about the Nihil's destructive activities, causing her to reconsider.
Vroma, a young Nautolan, lived with her mothers in a city located on Hon-Tallos. During the time of the High Republic Era, Vroma plucked a durga berry from the groves which a human boy called Ghenli asserted ownership over. Ghenli pursued Vroma throughout the city until she stumbled and fell. With the berry ruined, Vroma declared that the durga berry groves were for everyone, not just Ghenli, but Ghenli remained indifferent and believed that individuals like Vroma should not be permitted in the groves. He proceeded to shove Vroma, warning her not to return to "[his] grove."
Deva Lompop was nearby and inquired about the problem. Vroma explained that the durga berry was a favorite of her mothers and she simply wanted to do something thoughtful for them. However, Ghenli was a bully to Vroma and would seize anything of Vroma's that he desired. Lompop advised her to reclaim it, but Vroma believed stealing was wrong. Lompop countered by stating that it was not stealing to retrieve something that had already been stolen. Vroma then grew wary of Lompop and stated that she could not speak to strangers. Lompop introduced herself as a member of the Nihil, whom Vroma mistook for the Jedi, and promised to teach Ghenli a lesson.
At the grove, Vroma explained that she would pick her berry and attempt to leave but Ghenli and his friends would already be waiting for her. Lompop suggested they exit from the back of the grove, but Vroma said it would take longer for her to escape and it was dark. Lompop then developed her plan and assured Vroma she would never have to worry about the bullies again.
Vroma thought it was terrible idea as she traveled through the groves but Lompop reassured her it was not. She was then confronted by Ghenli and his friends who told her she should have stayed away. Vroma replied that they are making a mistake and the Grove Guardians would not like it. Ghenli didn't believe that was a thing and the chase began. One of Ghenli's friends shouted to Vroma she would regret this but Vroma kept running. Then, each of Ghenli's friends were picked off until just he remained. Vroma stopped and told Ghenli that she tried to warn him about the Grove Guardians but he made them angry. Ghenli brushed them off as stories but then a loud voiced echoed throughout the grove. It introduced itself as the "Guardian of the Grove" and promised to punish Ghenli. The figured revealed itself to be Lompop who opened her mouth to reveal her rows of sharp teeth, scaring Ghenli into admitting to stealing the durga berries. Ghenli ran away and Lompop and Vroma returned to town.
Vroma was surprised the plan worked out and thanked Lompop for her help. She then asked Lompop if she could join the Nihil to stop bullies all over the galaxy. Lompop told her she could, but the Nihil were pirates who do not stop bullies. Vroma didn't think her mothers would allow that. Lompop told her to head home as the Nihil began the attack. Vroma thanked Lompop again and walked away, believing Lompop was a nice lady as the Nihil opened fire on the city.
Vroma's character was introduced in "Tales of Villainy: A Very Nihil Interlude," which served as the backstory for the fourteenth and concluding issue of the 2020 Star Wars Adventures anthology Star Wars comic book series. The comic story was penned by Justina Ireland, illustrated by Nick Brokenshire, and released by IDW Publishing on February 9, 2022.
