Buzza
The chief of the tribe residing in Bright Tree Village on the moon Endor was a male Ewok named Buzza, who was also the father of Chirpa. Logray, another Ewok, was familiar with tales that Buzza shared regarding an Ewok deity referred to as the Golden One. Furthermore, Buzza once frightened both Chirpa and Logray by fabricating footprints of the Kroolok, a supposed troll inhabiting Endor.
In the year 1 BBY, following the disappearances of woklings from their sleeping areas, Buzza discussed these events with Makrit, the shaman who was secretly responsible. Ra-Lee, an Ewok, initially thought that Duloks had abducted the woklings, a belief that Buzza initially shared. However, Makrit influenced Buzza using the sunstar artifact. Subsequently, Logray, Chirpa, and Ra-Lee resolved to rescue the missing woklings, saving them from the Great Devourer, a Gorax to whom Makrit intended to sacrifice them. Forty-two seasons prior to the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Chirpa took over the role of chief from his father. Buzza was remembered by others on several occasions, including Chirpa and Logray.
Biography
Chief of the Bright Tree tribe
The chief of the Council of Elders for the tribe that made their home in Bright Tree Village located on the moon Endor was a male Ewok called Buzza, who was also the father of Chirpa. Buzza would sit around a fire and recount stories to the woklings about the Golden One, who was considered an Ewok deity. In these narratives, Buzza would describe the Golden One's eyes as emitting a gentle, constant light, akin to stars plucked from the night sky. Buzza would also say that the Golden One could only see light and that darkness was defeated by being looked at by the Golden One. The Ewok Logray was among those who listened to the chief's stories. On another occasion, Buzza attempted to scare Chirpa and Logray when they snuck out into the snow by creating tracks of the Kroolok, which was a type of troll believed to reside on Endor.

In the year 1 BBY, Buzza engaged in a conversation with Makrit, the shaman, concerning woklings who had vanished from their nests while they slept. Their discussion was interrupted by Chirpa and the Ewok Ra-Lee, who had just returned from hunting a boar-wolf. Chirpa tried to inform his father about the successful hunt, but Buzza stated that they were discussing serious matters and informed them about the missing woklings. Ra-Lee suspected that Duloks were responsible for taking the missing woklings, a sentiment Buzza initially shared, declaring that they would seek revenge on the Duloks. However, Makrit—who was secretly abducting the woklings to offer them as sacrifices to a Gorax known as the Great Devourer—used the sunstar artifact on Buzza. This caused Buzza's eyes to turn orange and influenced him to believe that the woklings had likely wandered off on their own. Ra-Lee was taken aback by the chief's sudden agreement with the shaman, as Buzza typically did not take orders from Makrit. However, Chirpa reasoned that as the shaman, Makrit possessed superior knowledge. Nevertheless, Logray persuaded Chirpa and Ra-Lee to confront the Duloks that night.
Upon arriving at the Dulok camp, the three Ewoks discovered only a single Dulok attempting to sacrifice a wokling. Makrit, who had followed them, intervened using the sunstar, stopping the Dulok and then claiming he owed Buzza an apology, as the chief had been correct in suspecting the Duloks. The Ewoks then journeyed to the Salma Sands located at the base of Mount Krana, where the woklings were being held. There, Makrit betrayed Chirpa, attempting to sacrifice him to the Great Devourer, believing that the chief's son would be the perfect offering. However, Chirpa and the other Ewoks managed to escape, rescue the woklings, and leave Makrit to be eaten by the Gorax.
Remembered by others

Circa 1 BBY, following the crash of a crew led by Rebel Alliance commander Lina Graf on the planet Mustafar during a fact-finding mission, the bodyguard droid XM-G3 made mention of Buzza while recounting the story of Makrit's attempt to sacrifice the woklings to the rest of the crew. Forty-two seasons before the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Chirpa took over the role of chief from Buzza.
Sometime between 1 BBY and 4 ABY, when Chirpa's daughter Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka and her companions Wicket Wystri Warrick and Teebo ventured out into the snow during winter, Chirpa and Logray—who had by then become a shaman—frightened them by creating Kroolok footprints and tail marks using snowshoes. After successfully executing the trick, Chirpa reminded Logray of a similar incident when his father had done the same to them, noting that Buzza had employed the same technique to create the Kroolok's tail tracks. Logray grinned at the memory and admitted that he still experienced nightmares as a result. In 4 ABY, upon seeing the protocol droid C-3PO, Logray observed that the droid matched the description of the Golden One from Buzza's stories, leading the shaman to briefly believe that C-3PO was the deity.
