Fozec, a male human, functioned as a security officer at the palace belonging to Jabba Desilijic Tiure, a crime lord of the Hutt species, situated on the planet of Tatooine. In the year 4 ABY, he was an audience member for a rendition of "Jedi Rocks" performed by the Max Rebo Band, and he expressed amusement when the performance concluded with Oola, an enslaved dancer, becoming a meal for Pateesa, Jabba's rancor pet. He was present when Leia Organa, a Princess, arrived at the palace, using the disguise of Boushh, a bounty hunter. However, after she successfully liberated Han Solo, a smuggler, from his imprisonment, Fozec participated in capturing both her and Solo, subsequently escorting the smuggler to one of the palace's detention cells. Following the arrival of Luke Skywalker, an ally of the prisoners, who then killed Pateesa, Fozec escorted Skywalker from the rancor pit back to Jabba, who then condemned him and his companions to die.
Fozec then journeyed to the Great Pit of Carkoon aboard Jabba's sail barge, named Khetanna, where he shared drinks with Geezum, a Snivvian, and Yoxgit, an Ugnaught, during the voyage. At the pit, Jabba intended to sacrifice Skywalker and his allies to the sarlacc residing there, but the prisoners managed to reverse the situation against Jabba and his followers, resulting in the Hutt's death, the destruction of the sail barge, and their own escape.
Fozec, a male human, served as a security guard within the palace complex of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, located on the [desert](/article/desert] planet Tatooine. In the year 4 ABY, Fozec was positioned behind Jabba's throne as the Hutt and his court observed a performance of the song "Jedi Rocks" by the Max Rebo Band. After Jabba insisted on a repeat performance, he attempted to pull Oola, the enslaved dancer, closer, but upon her resistance, he interrupted the song by dropping her into a pit beneath the throne room. Inside, Jabba's pet rancor, Pateesa, devoured the screaming dancer, while Fozec shared a laugh with another human member of the court. With Oola's demise, the court's attention was diverted to the throne room's entrance by the sound of blaster fire. Leaning against an archway behind the throne, Fozec watched as Leia Organa, a Princess disguised as the bounty hunter Boushh, entered the room, bringing the Wookiee Chewbacca as her prisoner.
Jabba offered the twenty-five thousand credit bounty he had placed on Chewbacca, but Organa demanded double that amount, brandishing an active thermal detonator to reinforce her demands. Fozec, along with many others present, sought cover from the potential explosion, but Jabba merely laughed and countered with an offer of thirty-five thousand credits, which Organa accepted before allowing Chewbacca to be taken away. The princess's true motive for being at the palace was to free Han Solo, a smuggler whom Jabba had frozen in carbonite and displayed on one of the throne room's walls. Later that night, she sneaked back in and released Solo. However, Jabba had seen through Organa's disguise and set a trap. Once Solo was free, Jabba had several curtains in the throne room pulled back, revealing the Hutt and his court lying in wait. Fozec was among those who had been hiding, and he emerged with a Gamorrean guard to capture Solo, escorting him to the palace dungeons while the captive Organa was brought closer to the Hutt.
While Jabba and his courtiers were later at rest, Luke Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, arrived with the intention of rescuing Solo, Organa, and Chewbacca. Skywalker employed a mind trick on Bib Fortuna, Jabba's majordomo, persuading him to grant him access to the throne room and awaken Jabba. As the Hutt and the rest of the court began to stir, Fozec emerged from behind Jabba's throne and assumed a position with his weapon ready. Skywalker demanded that Jabba release his friends and threatened the Hutt with a blaster pistol when Jabba refused. The crime lord then dropped Skywalker into the rancor pit, but the Jedi triumphed over the beast. Fozec and Lando Calrissian, another of Skywalker's allies in disguise, hauled him from the pit back up to the throne room. Solo and Chewbacca were also brought out, and Fozec stood with his weapon at the ready behind the prisoners as Jabba condemned them to death at the Great Pit of Carkoon. He then led the prisoners out of the throne room, followed by a crowd of courtiers.
Fozec was part of the entourage that accompanied Jabba aboard his sail barge, the Khetanna, en route to the Great Pit of Carkoon, where the prisoners were to be fed to a sarlacc residing there. The guard was enjoying a drink inside the sail barge with Yoxgit, an Ugnaught, and Geezum, a Snivvian, when the astromech droid R2-D2 bumped into the protocol droid C-3PO in front of the trio, causing the drinks he was carrying to spill. C-3PO apologized while Yoxgit and Geezum cleaned themselves up from the spill, and shortly thereafter, the barge arrived at the pit. At the pit, Skywalker and his allies managed to free themselves, with Organa strangling Jabba and shutting the barge's blinds, causing chaos within. The former prisoners then destroyed the barge and made their escape.
Fozec made his appearance in the 1983 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. Within the current Star Wars canon, the character received identification in the 2017 reference book titled Star Wars: Geektionary: The Galaxy from A - Z. The name's origin lies in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it initially appeared on a card in Jabba's Palace Limited, a 1998 expansion for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game produced by Decipher. The creation of the name Fozec involved randomly selecting tiles from a bag of Scrabble tiles, a suggestion made by Chuck Kallenbach, an employee of Decipher.
