Javon Thewles

Javon Thewles, a Human male, held the rank of lieutenant within Galactic Alliance Security. The year 44 ABY saw him enter into a romantic relationship with Seha Dorvald, a Jedi Knight whom he knew as "Sela Dorn," a pilot. Following Dorvald's implication in the attempted murder of several Senators, Thewles was apprehended on charges of conspiracy. Though quickly released, he chose to resign from Galactic Alliance Security and launch his own investigation into the conspiracy. Before his resignation took effect, he leveraged his connections to speak with Dorvald. She tried, without success, to dissuade him from pursuing the conspiracy. Shortly thereafter, during a Jedi coup against the government, Thewles aided a Security Corporal in managing the crowd near the Senate Building.

Later, as Leia Organa Solo, a Jedi Knight, prepared for a mission to the planet of Klatooine, Dorvald recommended Thewles to oversee the security detail for Solo's adopted daughter, Amelia. On Klatooine, Thewles accompanied Amelia in her search for the family's protocol droid, C-3PO, after the droid disappeared. He subsequently alerted Organa Solo when Amelia evaded his security, enabling the Jedi Knight to intervene and thwart a Sith plot to assassinate Tenel Ka Djo, the Hapan Queen Mother.

Biography

Galactic Alliance Security

Around the time of the Second Galactic Civil War, Javon Thewles, a Human male, resided in an apartment situated on Coruscant, the galactic capital. Having joined Galactic Alliance Security, he had risen to the rank of lieutenant by 44 ABY, and was anticipating evaluation for promotion to captain. Thewles was present when the Lambda-class shuttle named DeepRay returned to the Senate Building on Coruscant. Piloted by an individual known as "Sela Dorn," the DeepRay carried Wynn Dorvan, Chief of Staff to Natasi Daala, the Chief of State, along with General Merratt Jaxton, and Senator Fost Bramsin, following their participation in the inaugural Tendrando Arms Celebrity Sabacc Charity Challenge. Thewles engaged with Dorn, instructing her to depart immediately, as her authorization extended only to passenger drop-off. However, she initiated a false restart of the ship's dormant systems, triggering a simulated explosion in the right stern thruster. Dorn feigned indignation, but the smoke from the staged explosion activated the hangar's fire suppression mechanisms, blanketing the area in foam. Subsequently, Thewles granted Dorn time for a mechanic to inspect the DeepRay and proposed a dinner date. Unbeknownst to Thewles, Dorn was actually Seha Dorvald, a Jedi Knight, and the DeepRay's real objective was to discreetly transport Kyp Durron and Octa Ramis, both Jedi Masters, into the Senate Building in preparation for a Jedi coup against the Galactic Alliance government.

Thewles and Dorn went on their date for dinner and dancing, which Dorvald later described as a success. Concurrently, a conspiracy involving Drikl Lecersen, an Imperial Moff, along with General Jaxton, and Senators Fost Bramsin and Haydnat Treen, was also plotting Daala's removal. They observed Dorvald's actions and sought to ascertain her motives. To achieve this, they fabricated a poisoning incident involving Jaxton, Lecersen, and the Senate water supply, framing Dorvald as the perpetrator. Dorvald—whose identity as Sela Dorn had been compromised to the Galactic Alliance—became a suspect wanted for attempted murder. Shortly thereafter, Thewles was apprehended by the Galactic Alliance Military Police for conspiracy to commit murder, due to his association with Dorvald. He was soon exonerated due to lack of a motive, but he promptly initiated the process of resigning from Galactic Alliance Security. However, before his resignation was finalized, he used his connections to speak with Dorvald in the Security Center of the Senate Building. After ensuring the room was free of listening devices and that their conversation would not be overheard, he began questioning her. She maintained her innocence regarding the poisoning, but Thewles pressed further, suggesting she had become aware of the conspiracy involving Lecersen and Jaxton. She cautioned him to be careful, warning that he risked being killed. When he showed no signs of backing down, she attempted to plead insanity, claiming the Senators were impostors, but he simply wished her luck and departed.

Thewles' resignation was eventually processed, transitioning him to civilian status. Soon after, the New Jedi Order launched a coup against the government to remove Daala from her office. As news of the coup spread, crowds gathered in the Senate Plaza, which was barricaded by security troopers. There, Thewles noticed a holocam operator moving towards the Senate Building, protected by quad-linked lasers powerful enough to destroy starfighters, programmed to fire if anyone approached within fifty meters. A Quarren corporal ordered the individual to retreat, but he ignored her. Thewles pushed through the crowd and convinced the corporal to use the stun setting on the man, preventing him from triggering the lasers and endangering the crowd. The Quarren stunned the man in time, prompting outrage from the crowd. Meanwhile, the Jedi successfully executed their coup, establishing a triumvirate.

Guarding Amelia Solo

Amelia Solo

As Leia Organa Solo, a Jedi Knight, prepared for a mission to the planet Klatooine to foster better relations between the world and the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances, Dorvald suggested hiring Thewles to lead the security detail for Solo's adopted daughter, Amelia. Thewles initially hesitated, having never guarded someone so young, but with Solo's reassurance, he accepted the offer and accompanied the Solo family to Klatooine.

There, he remained with Amelia and her pet nexu, Anji, at all times. However, Amelia began experiencing Force visions depicting her mother—who was, unbeknownst to most of the galaxy, actually Tenel Ka Djo, the Hapan Queen Mother—being killed. She also sensed the presence of a darksider. Soon after, Djo arrived on Klatooine to participate in the negotiations. While Organa Solo, her husband, Han, and Djo attended a meeting with the negotiators, Amelia decided to take matters into her own hands. When the family protocol droid, C-3PO, went missing, she decided to search for him, hoping to find the dark side individual and prevent him from harming her mother. Thewles was reluctant to allow Amelia to leave the Solos' ship, the Millennium Falcon, because Organa Solo had instructed them to remain inside; however, he agreed to accompany her when he realized she would persistently bother him if he didn't.

They soon located C-3PO, who had become involved in a meeting of the Manumission Mandate Militia, a droids' rights organization. They dispatched C-3PO to the negotiators' meeting, but on their return to the Millennium Falcon, Amelia managed to evade Thewles and the other security troopers. Realizing she was missing, Thewles contacted Organa Solo, who quickly went to find her adopted daughter. Amelia, meanwhile, located the dark side individual—who was actually Querdan Dei of the Lost Tribe of Sith—and prevented him from completing his mission to assassinate Djo. Dei then attacked Amelia, but was confronted by Anji and subsequently killed in a duel with Organa Solo.

Personality and traits

Javon Thewles was drawn to Jedi Knight Seha Dorvald and dated her, unaware of her Jedi status at the time. When arrested for conspiracy to commit murder, he displayed a sense of humor, joking with the officers despite believing his career was over. Later, he hesitated when Organa Solo asked him to lead Amelia's security detail, lacking experience in guarding children and fearing incompetence. Nevertheless, he accepted the task and managed to entertain Amelia.

Faced with the holocam operator approaching the Senate Building's laser defenses, Thewles knew the man had to be stunned before the lasers fired, potentially killing many. As expected, the crowd reacted with outrage when the Quarren corporal stunned the man, and both she and Thewles were distressed by the necessity of their actions.

Thewles was considered handsome with short brown hair styled in a military cut.
