Ord Tiddell

Ord Tiddell, a planet situated in the Mid Rim Territories and specifically within the Near Perlemian sector, was seized by the Rebel Alliance from the control of the Galactic Empire during their Mid Rim Offensive. This campaign commenced around 1 ABY. Lieutenant Caluan Ematt served with the Alliance forces stationed on Ord Tiddell during this time. Following the offensive's failure in 2 ABY, the planet was among the first to be evacuated, with the Empire attacking during the withdrawal. In 4 ABY, a Cynabar's InfoNet news report speculated that Ord Tiddell, along with three other worlds, might be the location of either a rebel summit or a new rebel base, prompted by rumors that a high-ranking rebel was en route to the Near Perlemian.

Description

A terrestrial planet, Ord Tiddell resided in the Mid Rim Territories region, specifically within the Near Perlemian area.

History

Alliance retreat

Lieutenant Caluan Ematt served on Ord Tiddell.

The Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire were locked in the Galactic Civil War when, around 1 ABY, the Alliance initiated an offensive into the Mid Rim. Ord Tiddell, then under Imperial control, became a focal point of this offensive, with Alliance forces rapidly seizing control. Lieutenant Caluan Ematt was stationed on the planet during this military campaign. However, about nine months into the Mid Rim Offensive, in 2 ABY, the campaign faltered and ultimately collapsed due to increased Imperial resistance at various key points.

Due to the Empire's counter-offensive, Alliance troops were compelled to retreat to more secure locations. Preparations were made to withdraw from Ord Tiddell, along with five other planets—Charros IV, Durkteel, Jeyell, Pothor, and Trasse—which were expected to be quickly reclaimed by the Empire. General Carlist Rieekan detailed this situation in a classified communication to the Alliance Commander-in-Chief [Mon Mothma], specifically mentioning Ord Tiddell and the other five worlds. Rieekan also noted that while some local revolutionaries would join the evacuation, the majority planned to remain and harass the Empire. As the Alliance evacuated, the Empire arrived at Ord Tiddell, bombarding rebel launch facilities with plasmic artillery as the final transport, carrying personnel like Ematt, departed.

Rumors around the region

Cynabar's InfoNet suggested Ord Tiddell as one of the possible locations of rebel activity.

Archivist Hendri Underholt compiled documents related to the Mid Rim Offensive and its failure for The Rebel Files, a collection of non-electronic materials. In 4 ABY, Underholt traveled to Durkteel, acting as a decoy for Mothma, to divert Imperial attention from the Alliance's preparations to attack the Empire's second Death Star superweapon. Leaks regarding a high-ranking rebel leader's journey towards the Near Perlemian led to a report by the Cynabar's InfoNet news channel, which listed Ord Tiddell, Durkteel, Jeyell, and Trasse as possible sites for a rebel meeting or the establishment of a new headquarters.

Underholt included this news report in The Rebel Files before being killed during the Imperial bombardment of their position on Durkteel. The Rebel Files, initially buried by the attack, eventually fell into the hands of the Resistance—a military organization with roots in the Alliance—following an excavation of the bombarded location in 34 ABY. Ematt and other Resistance officers added annotations to the documents within. Ematt, among others, provided commentary on the reports concerning the Mid Rim campaign and its collapse, recalling his time spent on Ord Tiddell.
