Tekli

Tekli, a female Chadra-Fan Jedi Knight within the New Jedi Order, learned the ways of the Force under the tutelage of Master Cilghal. Regarded as one of the most proficient Jedi healers in the Order, she provided her services throughout the Yuuzhan Vong War and the Dark Nest Crisis. Later on, Tekli became a part of Jaina Solo's clandestine group of Jedi, known as Darkmeld, which actively fought against the attempts of Chief of State Natasi Daala to seize control of the Jedi Order.

Biography

The Yuuzhan Vong War

Tekli during the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Following the Battle of Duro, Tekli aided her master in the Eclipse Project and contributed to the establishment of the Great River.

Although she wasn't as powerful in the Force compared to other Jedi in her cohort, she was one of the seventeen Jedi members who participated in the Myrkr strike team, where her healing skills were essential in ensuring the team's survival. After surviving this mission, she was officially recognized as a Jedi Knight in a ceremony held on Mon Calamari approximately four years into the war. Subsequently, she joined the team tasked with locating the living planet Zonama Sekot. During this expedition, Tekli's healing prowess was crucial in saving the life of Admiral Pellaeon following the Battle of Bastion. During her time on Luke Skywalker's mission to find Zonama Sekot, Tekli cultivated a new ability: sensing life signs through the Force, which enhanced both her healing capabilities and her overall effectiveness as a Jedi.

During the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar, Tekli was among the numerous Jedi who defended the world against the Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster Nas Choka and the Alpha Red bioweapon. After the war concluded, Tekli chose to remain on Zonama Sekot, where she eventually began training to become a Magister.

The Dark Nest

In 35 ABY, Tekli, along with the other surviving members of the Myrkr strike team, ventured into the Unknown Regions to investigate a mysterious summons through the Force. This summons led them to assist a species called Killiks, who were involved in a border dispute with the Chiss Ascendancy. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to the Killiks resulted in some individuals becoming Joiner, as happened with the former members of the strike team.

When Luke Skywalker and his companions discovered the group, Cilghal tested them at the Jedi Academy on Ossus to understand why the Jedi Knights were acting as Joiners. Tekli later participated in the Conclave on Ossus, where she decided to remain a Jedi. Tekli, Tesar Sebatyne, and Lowbacca were Joiners, similar to Zekk and Jaina Solo, but their connection was not as strong, preventing them from reading each other's thoughts and feeling each other's emotions.

Alongside Tesar Sebatyne and Lowbacca, she was exiled to Dagobah to meditate on their actions concerning Raynar Thul, who was then known as UnuThul and presumed dead by his mother, Aryn Dro Thul. They overheard the Masters discussing battle strategies, including the assassinating of Raynar. Upon learning that Aryn Thul possessed the only droid left capable of repairing R2-D2, they decided to inform her about both her son's survival and the assassination plot. When Grand Master Luke Skywalker and his wife, Jedi Master Mara Jade Skywalker, went to acquire the droid needed to fix Artoo, they were both surprised and angered that any Jedi would reveal such information. However, they maintained their composure, and Aryn Dro Thul agreed to give them the droid if they promised to do everything possible to prevent her son's death. The duration of their stay on the planet remains unknown, but they returned in time to help resolve the three-way conflict between the Killiks, Chiss, and Galactic Alliance. Subsequently, she was aboard the Megador with her former Master during the assault on the Dark Nest.

Unlike Zekk and Jaina Solo, Tekli's exposure to the Killiks had only a partial impact, and while she felt sympathy for their cause, she did not clash with the Masters' Council to the same degree.

Political tensions

In 43.5 ABY, the relationship between the Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance reached a critical point. Chief of State Natasi Daala, who rose to power after the Second Galactic Civil War, cultivated anti-Jedi sentiments, which led to the arrest of Grand Master Luke Skywalker, his subsequent exile, and his replacement by Kenth Hamner.

Tekli opposed Daala's obvious attempt to seize control of the Order, and therefore, she joined Jaina Solo's secret group, Darkmeld, which aimed to thwart the Chief of State's plans. In this role, she assisted in alerting the group to Seff Hellin's scheme to free Valin Horn from prison. This led to the Darkmeld members capturing him and initiating the process of studying the strange Force disease affecting him, with the hope of discovering a cure.

Following the capture of Natua Wan at the Coruscant Livestock Exchange and Exhibition by the Solos and fellow Jedi Knight Radd Minker, a report from Javis Tyrr revealed that the New Jedi Order had been secretly holding Seff Hellin captive in the lower levels of the Jedi Temple. Enraged, Daala issued a series of demands to acting Grand Master Kenth Hamner, who was unaware of Hellin's presence within the Temple. As part of the agreement between Daala and Hamner, the Jedi conspirators of Darkmeld were exposed and punished, including Tekli, who was compelled to give a live interview discussing her involvement in the incident.

Shortly thereafter, Tekli accepted a human male named Josat as her Padawan. He served as her nurse while developing his Force healing skills. She would assign physical conditioning, such as running laps, as a punishment for failing to master his assignments.

Tekli

Tekli's Padawan Josat was tasked with assessing whether the Horn Jedi were indeed cured of their Force psychosis. Throughout the Jedi's testing, he spoke incessantly, posing questions and then instructing them not to answer. He performed commendably.

Jedi Leaving Coruscant

Tekli was among the Jedi who departed Coruscant under the orders of Grand Master Luke Skywalker. They retreated to their hidden base and began learning how to deceive the Sith who had seized control of Coruscant.

Liberation of Coruscant

Tekli accompanied Raynar Thul and Lowbacca to locate the Killik Thuruht nest in order to gather more information about Abeloth.

After the Sith were defeated, the Senate requested that The New Jedi Order leave Coruscant. Following a meeting with the Jedi High Council, they agreed to depart but assured their continued willingness to assist.

Preparing to leave

The relocation of the entire Jedi Order took nearly three months, during which they moved to their secret base on Shedu Maad.

Leaving Coruscant

Tekli was present at the Wedding of Jagged Fel and Jaina Solo.
