Tanner Cadaman

Tanner Cadaman was a human senator who represented his homeworld, Feenix, in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars he was an outspoken critic of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine in the media and joined the Delegation of 2,000, a group concerned with the chancellor's growing power.

Following the end of the Clone Wars and the reformation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Cadaman attended the funeral of Senator Padmé Amidala on the planet Naboo. The day after the formation of the Empire, Cadaman was arrested by Imperial Intelligence. Incarcerated in the Arrth-Eno Prison Complex on the planet Coruscant, Cadaman perished around 0 ABY when the prison was destroyed by Palpatine during a rescue attempt-turned assassination by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Outspoken senator

Tanner Cadaman was a human from Feenix, which he represented as a senator in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Cadaman was one of the most outspoken critics of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's wartime leadership of the Republic, on occasions venting his dismay to the media. He joined the Delegation of 2,000, a group consisting of other senators concerned with Palpatine's accumalation of emergency powers during the war and the lack of a formal mechanism by which they could be removed.

The delegation presented a petition asking Palpatine to relinquish those powers during a session of the senate that proved to be the body's last meeting prior to its reformation into the Imperial Senate as part of the Republic's transformation into the Galactic Empire following the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY. Shortly after the formation of the Empire, Cadaman was among those who attended the funeral of fellow senator and delegation member Padmé Amidala in the city of Theed on the planet Naboo where he marched with other senators in the procession behind her coffin.

Political prisoner

The day after the Empire was formed, Cadaman was arrested by Imperial Intelligence alongside a number of other delegation members who were labeled as traitors in the HoloNet News. Cadaman was among those then incarcerated along with other political prisoners in the Arrth-Eno Prison Complex on the planet Coruscant. Some among those members of the delegation who were not arrested went on to form the rebellious Alliance to Restore the Republic to oppose the Empire. After the Alliance saw successes against the Empire on Cymoon 1 and elsewhere in 0 ABY, Palpatine—by then Galactic Emperor—declared that all political prisoners at Arrth-Eno would be executed.

In order to try and save Cadaman and the other prisoners, rebel Princess Leia Organa and General Davits Draven of Alliance Intelligence put together a mission in which undercover agent Eneb Ray would be activated in order to extract those in Arrth-Eno in around 0 ABY. Organa sent a summary of the mission to Mon Mothma, a former senator and head of the Alliance, in which she mentioned looking forward to seeing Cadaman and others again soon. The reunion was not to be however, as Ray deviated from the plan in order to try and assassinate Palpatine, ultimately resulting in the Emperor detonating a bomb that killed Cadaman and everyone else in the prison. The Empire then blamed their deaths on the rebels. Organa, who had believed she would have the chance to save Cadaman and the others in order to make up for not saving her homeworld of Alderaan, was emotionally devastated by the mission's failure.
