B1-268 was an OOM command battle droid who served within the Separatist Droid Army during the period known as the Clone Wars. Following the conclusion of that conflict, B1-268 found himself among the debris of a downed Separatist supply ship situated on the planetary surface of Agamar, in company with super tactical droid General Kalani and numerous other battle droids. During the era of the Galactic Civil War, B1-268, along with a number of B1-series battle droids, captured individuals belonging to Phoenix Cell, who had arrived on Agamar in search of weaponry. With no alternative, Kalani compelled the rebels into fighting the droids in what he declared to be the "last battle" of the Clone Wars. After the battle's resolution, the forces of the Galactic Empire made their presence known on the planet, having tracked a rebel transmission to its source, and B1-268 was dispatched to determine the reason for the Empire's arrival. However, upon encountering the Imperial stormtroopers, he met his end, being destroyed.
B1-268 was a OOM command battle droid that was constructed by Baktoid Combat Automata and Baktoid Armor Workshop to fight for the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars, an interstellar war. This war saw the Confederacy of Independent Systems fight against the Galactic Republic. The Confederacy aimed to break away from the Republic due to their belief that it was corrupt, and they fought the Republic across the galaxy, battling their army of clone soldiers.
As the Clone Wars neared its conclusion, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine of the Republic—who was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, the Separatists' true leader—issued Clone Protocol 66. This protocol labeled the Force-using Jedi of the Republic as traitors, leading to the destruction of the Jedi Order. Sidious then addressed the Galactic Senate in a speech, declaring the Jedi as traitors and announcing the Republic's transformation into the First Galactic Empire. During his address, his new apprentice, Darth Vader, killed the remaining Separatist leaders at their base on the planet Mustafar. Vader then contacted Sidious, who instructed him to send a message ordering all remaining battle droids to be deactivated. Kalani, a super tactical droid who served as a general in the Droid Army and was B1-268's superior, received this message on the Outer Rim world of Agamar. However, Kalani, suspecting a Republic trick, chose not to deactivate his forces.
With the Clone War finished and the Separatist Alliance gone, B1-268 and his droid comrades were located in the remains of a downed Separatist supply ship on Agamar. In the year 2 BBY, seventeen years after the end of the war, members of a rebellion against the Empire entered the ship in search of weapons. After finding the ship's weapons storage, the rebels found themselves trapped in a ray shield and were quickly surrounded by B1-268 and five B1 battle droids. B1-268, thinking the intruders were part of the Galactic Republic, told his forces to get ready to fire. However, he then got new orders to bring the invaders to the ship's command center instead. B1-268 mentioned that this was his first time capturing enemies, so he and his droids stunned them before dragging the captives back to the center.

After getting the rebels to the command center, B1-268 reported to General Kalani, who congratulated him on his success. Kalani spoke with the prisoners, two of whom were Jedi, one of whom was a Captain, and one of whom was a Lasat guardsman. Kalani, wanting to finally win the Clone Wars with a Separatist victory, suggested a final battle. In this battle, his forces would hold the Lasat hostage while the Jedi and clone fought his droids to save him. Facing the threat of being destroyed if they refused, they accepted the tactical droid's conditions and left the ship while Kalani's forces got ready. After defeating the first group of droids and getting to the hangar, the rebels were surprised by droidekas from the catwalk above and had to find cover. As the rebels planned how to defeat the droids, B1-268 moved towards their location with several B1 battle droids. However, the rebels managed to start their plan: one of the Jedi, Ezra Bridger, used the Force to crash a crane into the catwalk, causing the droidekas to fall onto B1-268's forces below. B1-268 avoided being crushed, and the rebels passed him as they continued to the command center.
The rebels took control of the command center, ending the battle. However, the Empire had picked up a distress signal sent by a rebel astromech droid that the battle droids had failed to capture, C1-10P, and sent soldiers to Agamar. Kalani ordered B1-268 to investigate, and the droid approached the incoming shuttles with three other battle droids. B1-268 greeted the stormtroopers, telling them that he was sent to find out why the Empire was on the planet. His words were ignored, as Imperial protocol stated that all "clankers" (battle droids) were to be shot on sight. And so he was shot by one of the stormtroopers.
B1-268 demonstrated a strong dedication to the Separatist cause, informing the rebels he and his droids captured that they were in Separatist custody, even though the Confederacy had been gone for over a decade. B1-268 was quick to obey orders, readily changing his goal from killing the intruders on Agamar to stunning and capturing them. He also didn't shy away from dangerous situations, fearlessly marching with his fellow droids towards the rebels in the supply ship's hangar.
Like B1 and other OOM command battle droids, B1-268 was 1.93 meters tall and was designed for combat. B1-268 had yellow markings, which identified him as a command droid. However, unlike most standard and command battle droids, B1-268 did not have a comlink booster pack. B1-268 carried an E-5 blaster rifle, the standard weapon for most battle droids, and would store it on his back when not in use. Due to the lack of maintenance after the Clone War, B1-268's plating had various scratches and scorch marks.

B1-268 was featured in the sixth episode of Star Wars Rebels' third season, "The Last Battle," which was broadcast on October 22, 2016, on Disney XD. Matthew Wood provided the voice for B1-268, having also voiced the battle droids in Lucasfilm Animation's previous series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Steven Melching, credited as story editor for "The Last Battle," named the battle droid after his own birthday.
In the original plan for "The Last Battle," Ezra Bridger would have befriended B1-268 and called him "Roger," but this idea was dropped because the series LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures already had a B1 battle droid named Roger. B1-268's nickname was then changed to "Clanky," but the idea of Bridger giving the droid a nickname was removed from the episode early in production. The Star Wars Rebels team considered making B1-268 a member of the Ghost crew, but decided against it because they felt there were already too many crew members and not enough space for another.
