Celsor 3

Celsor 3, an icy moon, resided within the Celsor system of the Hook Nebula. This celestial body was characterized by its landscape, primarily composed of ice pillars topped with snow and expansive icy terrains. The only inhabitants were the native jakoosks, creatures known for spending the majority of their time in a state of slumber. In 34 ABY, denizens of the supertanker fuel depot Colossus made their way to this moon. Fleeing from the militant First Order and in search of [food](/article/foodstuff], the Warbird gang members ventured from the Colossus with the intent to hunt a local jakoosk to provide sustenance for the station. Despite the initial hunt proving unsuccessful, Kazuda Xiono, a Resistance spy, and Torra Doza, a pilot, later revisited the moon, successfully killing the creature.

Description

Within the Hook Nebula's Celsor system, located in the Outer Rim Territories and the Trailing Sectors of the galaxy, was the small moon known as Celsor 3. This terrestrial moon, devoid of inhabitants, was situated in grid square O-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid and possessed a breathable, Type I atmosphere. Its scenic environment was defined by ice and snow, punctuated by towering ice pillars shrouded in fog. A forbidding and desolate place, the sole known species capable of surviving on this frigid and inhospitable moon was the jakoosk, a gigantic flying beast that remained in a dormant state of slumber until disturbed by unsuspecting visitors, and whose meat was a delicacy consumed across the galaxy.

History

The Warbirds attempt to kill a massive jakoosk.

Following their escape from the militant First Order above the world of D'Qar in 34 ABY, the supertanker fuel depot Colossus journeyed near Celsor 3. Jarek Yeager, a veteran of the New Republic, designated the moon as a training ground after assuming command of Ace Squadron, the platform's primary defense force. During their initial expedition to the moon, Yeager collaborated with Kazuda Xiono, an Ace Squadron pilot and Resistance spy, to eliminate the remaining Aces.

During a subsequent training exercise on the moon, the Aces encountered a jakoosk, roused from its slumber by their aerial maneuvers through the moon's ice pillars. Yeager narrowly escaped being devoured before the Aces dislodged his starfighter by collapsing one of the pillars onto the creature. Soon after, Kragan Gorr, the leader of the Warbird gang, recognized an opportunity to undermine the authority of Imanuel Doza, the Colossus's captain. The pirates of the Warbird gang journeyed to Celsor 3 with the intention of hunt the jakoosk for its meat, as the Colossus was experiencing a shortage of [food](/article/foodstuff]. However, the pirates were ill-prepared for the creature's immense size and were ultimately compelled to retreat after losing two ships.

Xiono and Torra Doza, the Ace Squadron pilot and daughter of the captain, who had been observing the pirates, decided to return to Celsor 3 shortly thereafter to attempt to hunt the creature themselves. The duo strategically positioned a blaster cannon on the ground to target the jakoosk's vulnerable underbelly. Despite complications arising from Buggles, Torra's pet, stowing away on their ship, the Fireball, and interference from the stranded pirates Snarl and Drell, Xiono and Torra's mission proved successful, resulting in the death of the jakoosk and providing the Colossus with sufficient food supplies to sustain the entire platform for a considerable time. Following the defeat of the clone of Darth Sidious in 35 ABY, Ardis San Tekka, a creature enthusiast, referenced Celsor 3 in her journal entry on jakoosks, which chronicled her adventures observing non-sentient creatures throughout the galaxy alongside her droid companion, B8-T5.
