The Battle of Mygeeto IV, also referred to as simply the Battle of Mygeeto, took place on the planet of Mygeeto during the closing days of the Clone Wars. It was a part of the Galactic Republic's three year-long campaign to dislodge the Confederacy of Independent Systems from that strategically vital world. This battle occurred only a few months following the Third Battle of Mygeeto.
Following the death of Ki-Adi-Mundi, a Jedi General, due to Order 66 being executed during the conflict, Marshal Commander Bacara and the soldiers of the 21st Nova Corps pressed on, striving to eliminate the last Separatist holdouts on the planet.
Mygeeto, a frigid world of strategic importance situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was under the control of the InterGalactic Banking Clan throughout the Clone Wars, making it a target for both the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic. The Republic engaged in numerous battles aimed at expelling the Confederacy from Mygeeto, which developed into a protracted three year campaign.

The Third Battle of Mygeeto saw Jedi General Depa Billaba's battalion of clone troopers team up with the Republic's Mandalorian allies in Skull Squadron; nonetheless, the Republic forces were still outnumbered by the battle droid forces present. General Grievous himself commanded the Separatist Droid Army during this battle, but he was ultimately compelled to withdraw, resulting in a Republic victory in the Third Battle of Mygeeto.
However, only a few months later, warfare returned to the planet when the Republic sought to eliminate the deeply entrenched Banking Clan forces on Mygeeto and seize the planet from the Confederacy, thereby initiating the Battle of Mygeeto IV. This battle was also a component of the broader Outer Rim Sieges campaign. Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi and Clone Marshal Commander Bacara, who had served under Mundi throughout the Mygeeto campaign and in other engagements, were tasked with leading their 21st Nova Corps into the battle with the goal of securing the world for the Republic. Earlier in the sieges, Bacara had been leading Republic forces against the Confederacy, which led to the Republic's attack on Mygeeto. Mundi and Bacara once appeared as holograms at a meeting concerning the sieges.

Members of the 501st Legion participated in this battle, undertaking a clandestine operation to capture a massive crystal. During the combat, Mundi directed his forces against Separatist positions on Mygeeto, specifically targeting the fortified locations of the Banking Clan's forces. He fought alongside the Galactic Marines and Unstable Terrain Artillery Transports on a bridge, engaging the Droid Army. While battling numerous B1 units, Mundi urged his troops to secure the bridge, unaware that Bacara was simultaneously receiving Order 66 from Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, which designated the entire Jedi Order as traitors to the Republic and mandated their immediate execution.
Despite the Clone Commander's initial hesitation due to disbelief, his obedience, like that of all clones, was ensured by his behavioral modification biochip, causing Bacara and the rest of the 21st to turn against their own commander. As Mundi and the clones battled the droids, losing a UT-AT to an Octuptarra tri-droid, the Jedi General called for his troops to follow him into battle against B2-series super battle droids, only to realize that his squad had stopped and were priming their blasters. Bacara and his marines suddenly opened fire, and, although he deflected some of their blaster bolts, Mundi was killed in the assault, causing his lightsaber to fall to the ground.
After their success in the Bracca Invasion, Jedi General Jaro Tapal's 13th Battalion received orders to join the Battle of Mygeeto IV, but the enactment of Order 66 resulted in the destruction of his Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Albedo Brave, before they could depart. After Mundi's execution, Bacara and the 21st continued their fight against the droids, determined to eradicate the Confederacy's remaining presence on Mygeeto.
The Clone Wars concluded with the mission to Mustafar, during which Darth Vader, a Sith apprentice, assassinated the Executive Separatist Council and deactivated the Droid Army, and Palpatine transformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire. Mygeeto became part of the Empire, but the Banking Clan was permitted to continue its operations from the planet. Vice Chairman Anolo acquired Mundi's lightsaber. Despite the Imperial occupation of the planet, Mygeeto found peace. The crystal recovered on Mygeeto by the 501st was later utilized for the superlaser on the DS-1 Death Star Mobile Battle Station.
While in conversation with a Givin codebreaker, Anolo drew a comparison between its wielder and the Banking Clan, noting the Banks' involvement in a series of trade wars with the Hutt Clan. Shortly thereafter, Anolo was killed during Greedo's mission to Mygeeto, a bounty hunter mission, and the Rodian absconded with Mundi's lightsaber. After Greedo's return to Tatooine, the lightsaber was purchased by Dok-Ondar, a collector, who kept it in his Den of Antiquities on Batuu.
