Gungi's lightsaber
The personal lightsaber of Gungi, the Wookiee Jedi Padawan, was his treasured possession. This weapon was uniquely crafted from Brylark tree wood and produced a green blade. Its construction took place on the Paladin-class corvette Crucible during the year of 20 BBY.
This weapon saw action during the rescue mission for Padawan Ahsoka Tano on Florrum, as well as the subsequent invasion of Florrum. Furthermore, it was present during the duel at the Jedi Temple that occurred between Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and the renegade Jedi Barriss Offee.
History
Construction

Approximately twenty years before the Battle of Yavin, Gungi, the Wookiee Jedi youngling, embarked on a journey with other younglings to the planet Ilum. This trip was for the Gathering, a Jedi tradition where younglings would obtain a kyber crystal to power their future lightsaber. Gungi traveled aboard the Crucible with his peers and Padawan Ahsoka Tano, who served as their guide. Upon arrival, Gungi and the group ventured into the Crystal Cave, where they met with Grand Master Yoda to begin the trial.
Yoda explained that each youngling needed to delve deep within the cave's caverns to find their specific crystal. Failure to return before the exit froze over would likely result in death. The younglings quickly entered the cave and separated to search. Gungi located his crystal relatively quickly, but it was situated across a frigid stream that could only be crossed once frozen. He eventually managed to cross and retrieve his crystal, escaping the Crystal Cave just in time. After everyone made it out, they returned to the Crucible with Ahsoka to construct their lightsabers.
After the Crucible left Ilum's atmosphere, Huyang, a droid who had instructed Jedi in lightsaber construction for thousands of years, greeted Gungi and the other younglings. Huyang instructed Gungi to use the Force to envision his lightsaber's design. After thinking for a moment, Gungi described a lightsaber made of wood. Huyang then provided Gungi with a wooden hilt crafted from a Brylark tree, which he used to start building his lightsaber. Before he could finish, the Ohnaka Gang, a group of pirates led by Hondo Ohnaka, attacked the Crucible.
After many skirmishes with the pirates, the younglings and Ahsoka managed to force them off the ship. However, Ahsoka was captured and taken to the pirates' base on Florrum.
Usage during the Clone Wars

Following the attack, the younglings contacted Master Kenobi and reported the events. He instructed them to remain where they were until he could help rescue them and Ahsoka. While waiting for Kenobi, Gungi, along with Petro and Byph, finished constructing their lightsabers.
During the last year of the Clone Wars, Gungi participated in a lightsaber training exercise led by Jedi Master Tera Sinube at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. While training, Petro noticed a lightsaber duel between Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and the rogue Jedi Barriss Offee. Gungi and the others watched as Skywalker defeated and apprehended Offee, bringing her to justice.
Usage during the Imperial Era
After becoming a Padawan and surviving the Great Jedi Purge, Gungi continued to use his lightsaber into the Imperial Era. After the fall of Tipoca City, Gungi was captured by the Vanguard Axis's droids and imprisoned in their base on their space station. The Axis planned to sell him alive to a wealthy buyer, with their leader holding onto Gungi's lightsaber. While the Axis leader negotiated with Clone Force 99, a commando squad of genetically defective clones, over forged chain codes, Gungi escaped his cell with the help of Omega, a member of Clone Force 99. As the Axis droids and Clone Force 99 fought, Gungi used the Force to reclaim his lightsaber while the Axis leader was distracted.

After escaping the station aboard the Omicron-class attack shuttle the Marauder, Clone Force 99 returned Gungi to his home planet of Kashyyyk. Upon arrival, they found a Wookiee village ablaze and a warrior held captive by Trandoshans. Enraged, Gungi activated his lightsaber and charged at the hunters to free his fellow Wookiee, successfully removing his handcuffs. However, the remaining hunters turned on him with Incinerator tanks. The Bad Batch joined Gungi, and together they destroyed the tanks. The rescued Wookiee invited Gungi to their village, introducing him to the elder, Yanna.
Meanwhile, the Trandoshans and a squad of stormtrooper clones, led by Babwa Venomor, discovered the remains of the destroyed tanks. Realizing a lightsaber was responsible, Venomor ordered the jungle razed to find the culprit. The Wookiee tribe consulted the Wroshyr trees for a counter-attack plan, deciding to lure the Trandoshans into nearby netcaster nests. The enraged netcasters attacked the Trandoshans in response to their nests being destroyed. Venomor, however, fled into the jungle, following Gungi into a clearing which he set ablaze to trap the Wookiee. Gungi distracted Venomor, causing the hunter to surround himself with fire. In the close-quarters fight, Gungi sliced Venomor's flamethrower, leaving him vulnerable to netcasters who descended from the trees, wrapped him in webs, and carried him to the treetops where Venomor met his end.
