Aeos, also referred to as Aeos Prime, was a planet largely covered by oceans. It resided within the Aeos system, located in the Outer Rim Territories and served as the homeworld for the aquatic Aeosian species. Certain Aeosians permitted the Rebel Alliance to establish a base there. This base later suffered an attack from the First Order during their conflict with the Resistance.
Sometime later, the Colossus space station sought sanctuary on Aeos Prime. However, some Aeosians initially resisted their arrival due to several misunderstandings. Eventually, after realizing the Colossus posed no intentional threat, the Aeosians welcomed the station and its inhabitants, leading to a mutually beneficial agreement. Later, the First Order discovered their location and returned to Aeos with the intention of attacking and/or seizing the Colossus. With the aid of the Aeosians, the space station successfully escaped into hyperspace. In retaliation for aiding the Colossus, the First Order then initiated an orbital bombardment on a specific area of the planet.
Aeos Prime, or simply Aeos, was a planet largely covered in vast oceans and encircled by a planetary ring. It was situated in the Aeos system within the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy. The ocean's surface was dotted with small islands, and numerous rocky caverns and tunnels existed beneath the water's surface.
The planet was the homeworld of the krakavora, an aquatic species with webbed wings enabling flight, often used by the Aeosians for transportation. The atmosphere on Aeos Prime was breathable for various species, including the native Aeosians and humans.
During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic was permitted by the Aeosians to maintain a rebel outpost on Aeos Prime. By the era of the New Republic, the outpost had been abandoned. During the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance, the First Order discovered information about the old rebel base on Aeos Prime. Seeking to eliminate any former rebel installations to prevent their use by the Resistance, the First Order attacked Aeos Prime, resulting in the destruction of an Aeosian village.

The space station Colossus, under the command of Captain Imanuel Doza, sought a safe haven from the First Order and arrived above Aeos Prime. Unaware of the planet's inhabitants, Doza decided to claim Aeos as the new home for the Colossus. While on a reconnaissance mission, Kazuda Xiono and Griff Halloran, members of the Colossus's Ace Squadron, discovered the devastated village. Xiono learned of the Rebellion's past presence on the planet. However, the Aeosians captured the two Aces, believing them responsible for the village's destruction, and launched an assault on the Colossus.
Initially, the Aeosian queen intended to have Xiono and Halloran fed to the krakavora as punishment. However, she spared their lives after Xiono used medicine to heal an injured Aeosian. The queen then visited the Colossus, ceasing the attack and agreeing to assist the station's inhabitants in exchange for medicine, thus allowing the Colossus to remain on Aeos Prime.
However, the First Order became aware of the Colossus's presence when Xiono, attempting to rejoin his Resistance comrades, was spotted by a First Order probe droid. Having been searching for the station for some time, the First Order dispatched a Star Destroyer, the Thunderer, to attack the Colossus, deploying numerous TIE fighters and TIE/se Bombers. The Aeosian queen chose to stay behind and assist the Colossus in its escape, with the Aeosians helping to defend the station from the TIEs. The Colossus successfully cleared Aeos Prime's atmosphere, jumped into hyperspace, and escaped the First Order, while the Aeosians retreated beneath the ocean.

Although the Colossus escaped unharmed, the First Order decided to punish the Aeosians for sheltering the Resistance on their planet. Some time after the Colossus's departure, the First Order sent several Star Destroyers to the Aeos system. As the Aeosians looked up at the approaching fleet, the First Order opened fire on the village that had aided the Resistance, bombarding the planet from orbit. This orbital bombardment devastated the village and the surrounding area, leaving destruction visible from space.
The Aeosians lived in tunnels beneath Aeos Prime's surface. An Aeosian village, which was targeted in a First Order attack, was located on the planet. A former Rebellion outpost was also situated on Aeos Prime. The Colossus space station docked on Aeos for a while, but was later forced to flee.

Aeos Prime made its debut in "The New World," an episode of Star Wars Resistance that aired on January 12, 2020. While the episode identified the planet as Aeos, the subsequent episode, "No Place Safe," which aired on the same day, referred to it as Aeos Prime.
Jason Pichon created concept art of Aeos Prime's surface, while Jim Moore designed concept art of the planet as viewed from space. To represent the Aeosians' blend of technology and nature, the design team incorporated veins of gold into the sea rock of the planet's tunnels, visually connecting to the gold metal used in the Aeosians' armor and weapons.
In earlier versions of "The Escape," the First Order was originally intended to attack Dendro IV in the opening sequence, instead of Aeos Prime. The location of the First Order's attack was changed to Aeos following the development of the two episodes it appeared in, with the intent of connecting the series finale to earlier episodes and more effectively showcasing the consequences of the First Order's actions. However, the episode's StarWars.com concept art gallery featured an image described as art of Aeos after the attack, but its appearance differed from that of the ocean planet and was labeled "planetballDendroDstrd."
