The Intelligence Service of the Rebel Alliance, also known as Alliance Intelligence, Rebel Intelligence, or Rebel Alliance Intelligence, constituted a segment of the Alliance to Restore the Republic with the responsibility of gathering and scrutinizing military, diplomatic, and economic data concerning the Galactic Empire, subsequently disseminating this information to the appropriate divisions within the Alliance. By the time of the Battle of Scarif, General Airen Cracken was serving as the Chief of Intelligence, a position he continued to hold up to the Battle of Endor. Within a diary entry documented in the Rebel Files, chief of state Mon Mothma expressed her aversion to collaborating with Intelligence, remarking that agents such as Davits Draven possessed a dispassionate moral practicality that allowed them to rationalize any transgression.

History
Genesis
The establishment of Rebel Intelligence occurred between 19 BBY and 18 BBY, during the initial days of the rebellion directed against the Galactic Empire. Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi Padawan, assumed leadership of the Intelligence network following her recruitment into the rebellion by Senator Bail Organa. Their approach involved identifying and monitoring nascent resistance factions to assess their proficiency in disrupting Imperial activities and maintaining secrecy. Organa deemed this strategy harsh yet indispensable, recognizing the Empire's capacity to swiftly dismantle amateur groups and jeopardize the overarching organization that he and Senator Mon Mothma were endeavoring to create.
Acquiring the "Farkiller"
Rebel intelligence utilized some Kihraxz Light Starfighters. At some point after the Battle of Yavin, Alliance Intelligence was informed that archaeologist Chelli Lona Aphra had knowledge of the "Farkiller" weapon and dispatched Strike Team Misericorde to secure her. Airen Cracken, the Chief of Intelligence, was of the opinion that assassinating Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine was the only way to bring an end to the Galactic Civil War.
Operation Ringbreaker
After the [Battle of Hoth](/article/battle_of_hoth], Alliance Intelligence carefully examined Operation Ringbreaker.
Aftermath
With the conclusion of the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance underwent a transformation into the New Republic, and Alliance Intelligence was subsequently reformed into New Republic Intelligence.
