Falumpaset cheese served as an ingredient for mashed chokeroot, a side dish that accompanied the main course, Fried Endorian Tip-Yip. Strono Tuggs, an Artiodac chef, featured these recipes in his cookbook. This cheese could be sourced from the planets of Batuu and Saleucami, both located within the Outer Rim. There was an incident where Webb Taffral experienced an unfortunate face-first encounter with a bowl of mashed chokeroot. The tip-yip meal was enjoyed by humans like Vi Moradi and Julen Rakab, as well as Izal Garsea, and Neelo, a Togruta.
As a component of the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip entrée, Falumpaset cheese played a role in the side dish mashed chokeroot. This cheese, along with some simple spices that had an orange hue, worked to accentuate the inherent sweetness of the otherwise somewhat bland chokeroot. The name "Falumpaset cheese" is shared with falumpasets, which are a species of domesticated creatures hailing from Naboo. This cheese was obtainable on the planets Batuu and Saleucami, both situated in the Outer Rim.

Mashed chokeroot was part of a family dinner at the Taffral house on Saleucami in 4 ABY. This event was disrupted when TIE fighters flew over the Taffral residence because Webb Taffral, an Imperial loyalist, informed Imperial forces about the location of his brother, Dav, who was Rebel-aligned. Glen, their father, used a blaster to stun Webb, which caused him to fall face-first into a bowl of mashed chokeroot.
After the Battle of Takodana in 34 ABY, Strono Tuggs, an Artiodac chef, launched Tuggs' Grub, his mobile restaurant operating from a modified transport shuttle. Chokeroot was considered a standard family dish on numerous worlds at this time, but Tuggs felt the root lacked sufficient flavor for his culinary creations. During a trip to Saleucami, he discovered a creamy mashed chokeroot recipe that utilized falumpaset cheese along with spices to bring out the chokeroot's inherent sweetness. When Tuggs authored his cookbook, he included both the mashed chokeroot recipe and the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip entrée that featured it.
In 34 ABY, Tuggs brought Tuggs' Grub to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, participating as a guest chef at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo on a rotating basis. Vi Moradi, a human Resistance spy, consumed Fried Endorian Tip-Yip at Tuggs' Grub during one of his week-long monthly residencies. In that same year, Julen Rakab, a farmer, and Izal Garsea, a smuggler, also enjoyed the meal when Tuggs served it. After Garsea departed the table, Neelo, a Togruta musician, helped himself to Rakab's dish. Eloc Throno, an adventurer, described the meal in his book, Traveler's Guide to Batuu, but referred to mashed chokeroot as "mashed vegetables."
The ingredient falumpaset cheese made its debut, although initially unnamed and later identified retroactively, within the mashed chokeroot dish in Aftermath, a 2015 novel penned by Chuck Wendig. Mashed chokeroot is a part of the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip entrée; both became available to patrons at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, a restaurant located in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, a themed area that opened at Disneyland on May 31, 2019.
Falumpaset cheese received its name in the 2019 cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, authored by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak, which also confirmed its role as an ingredient in mashed chokeroot. The out-of-universe recipe for mashed chokeroot calls for parmesan cheese, and the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip recipe suggests mashed potatoes as a potential substitute for mashed chokeroot.
