Heert

A male human known as Heert held the position of Imperial officer, specifically an Attendant within the Imperial Security Bureau. This bureau served the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. Heert functioned as an assistant to Lieutenant Dedra Meero, who was an ISB Supervisor in the Investigations division. He provided support to her while she was at the ISB Central Office.

Biography

Meero's aide

Meero and Heert examine the records from Ferrix.

During the Imperial Era, Heert worked as an aide to Dedra Meero, an ISB Supervisor within the Investigations branch of the Imperial Security Bureau. He supported her in her office at the bureau headquarters on Coruscant in 5 BBY. While reviewing reports related to the Ferrix incident, Meero discovered an Imperial N-S9 Starpath Unit that had been pilfered from the Steergard Naval Yard. Given that Steergard was within their area of responsibility, she tasked Heert with requesting all relevant information concerning Ferrix from Supervisor Blevin's office. After Blevin refused the request, Meero personally went to Blevin's office to discuss the matter.

As their investigation expanded to include locations like Hosnian Prime, Meero instructed Heert to leave her office as it was getting late. However, Heert insisted on staying as long as Meero did. He offered reassurance when she expressed uncertainty about their progress. He cited events occurring in places such as Kessel, Fondor, Jakku, Base Cay, and Steergard. However, Meero concurred with Major Lio Partagaz's assessment that the events seemed too disparate to be meaningfully connected.

Heert countered by suggesting that Meero did not truly agree with Partagaz. The lieutenant believed that someone working against the Empire would intentionally scatter their activities to avoid detection, to which Heert responded that it was too random to be random. Meero then proposed reviewing two more files each, and Heert agreed, resuming their work.

Heert and Meero both attended the emergency session called by Major Partagaz.

Subsequently, the payroll for an entire Imperial sector was stolen from an Imperial installation located on Aldhani. Partagaz summoned numerous bureau personnel, including Heert and Meero, to a meeting room. He informed them that they should advise their families that they would not be returning home. The major then instructed everyone present to prepare every Star Sector and Planetary Emergency Retaliation plan for presentation by midnight.

The following day, Heert was seated behind Meero at a meeting headed by Colonel Wullf Yularen. The Colonel updated the staff on the countermeasures being implemented after the Aldhani heist, including the introduction of the Public Order Resentencing Directive. Later, during a discussion in Meero's office, she confided in Heert that she believed the Aldhani attack was not merely a robbery, but a deliberate declaration.

Hunting Cassian Andor

Heert and Corv were led to Syril Karn's cubicle by Flob.

At a later point, Meero dispatched Heert and fellow ISB Attendant Corv to the Imperial Bureau of Standards to retrieve Syril Karn for interrogation at the ISB central office. During the interrogation, Karn revealed that he had been unable to review the Ferrix report before his dismissal from his position in the Morlana System. Consequently, Meero and Heert had to depart for another meeting elsewhere in the building. As they left, Corv remained to provide Karn with a copy of the report to review.

During the meeting, Heert's superior requested additional resources to locate Cassian Jeron Andor, who had been identified as one of the two individuals involved in the Ferrix incident. Although Meero and her team had not yet identified Luthen Rael, whom they referred to as "Axis" due to his central role in the plot, she remained committed to finding him. Later that day, the ISB officers returned to the interrogation room. Meero concluded that Karn's description of Rael was unhelpful and promptly left, with Heert following closely behind.

Heert corroborated Meero's connection between Axis and the Aldhani heist with evidence.

Upon Meero's return to Coruscant following her interrogations of Salman Paak and Bix Caleen on Ferrix, Heert and Corv attended a meeting convened by Major Partagaz alongside their supervisor. Meero presented the list of Imperial equipment provided by Caleen after her interrogation, which included a targeting unit recovered from a safehouse operated by Maya Pei's rebel cell. Furthermore, she linked Axis to the Aldhani events based on Andor's return to Ferrix three days after the heist. When Partagaz expressed skepticism about the Aldhani connection, Heert pointed out that Caleen had indicated Andor was clean-shaven upon his return. He further mentioned that two soldiers at the Aldhani Garrison believed Andor resembled one of the rebels. Partagaz conceded that the increased interest warranted further investigation into the Aldhani connection.

Plotting against Anto Kreegyr

The following day, when Meero entered her office, Heert informed her that Imperial authorities had apprehended a rebel pilot using a stolen Imperial masking unit, and that Attendant Corv was verifying if the unit was on their list. Heert's superior instructed him to dispatch Doctor Gorst to interrogate the prisoner aboard the Destroyer above Steergard where he was being held. He replied that he had already sent Gorst and inquired if she wished to accompany him. She declined, stating that she lacked the time, and dismissed him after commending his work.

Following the interrogation of the prisoner, Heert and Meero attended a small meeting with Partagaz, Lagret, and two other attendants. During the interrogation, the prisoner maintained that he had not contacted anyone during his escape attempt. Heert informed the attendees that the masking unit had been stolen from the Imperial naval yard in Lozash the previous year. Supervisor Lonni Jung and his attendant arrived late to the meeting, having been offsite. Partagaz informed them about the capture of the rebel pilot, who was affiliated with Anto Kreegyr's rebel cell. The major stated his belief that Kreegyr was unaware of the pilot's capture and that the prisoner had revealed a planned raid on the Spellhaus Imperial power station.

When Jung cautioned that the pilot would soon be reported missing, Lagret suggested destroying the ship and staging an accident. Heert's superior proposed sabotaging the ship, planting the pilot's body, and allowing it to drift into traffic near Kafrene. As Meero and Heert departed the conference room to implement this plan, Partagaz instructed Lagret and Jung to arrange a meeting with Military Intelligence regarding the planned raid on Spellhaus.

Heert was later present in the conference room when it was confirmed that Anto Kreegyr's cell had fallen for the trap. He provided Meero with a datapad from which she reported the situation to Major Partagaz. He left shortly thereafter with his superior.

Heert was present in Dedra Meero's office when she received a communication from Attendant Corv and Captain Vanis Tigo from Ferrix. They informed the supervisor that Andor's mother, Maarva Carassi Andor, had passed away, and the locals were preparing for her funeral. After Meero authorized Tigo to grant the locals' request to close Rix Road for the ceremony, Heert inquired about the time remaining before the ceremony. Corv informed them that they had two days, in accordance with the local custom of "bricking" the deceased. He did not accompany Meero when she traveled to Ferrix shortly afterward.
