A male Muun by the name of Nix Card functioned as the InterGalactic Banking Clan's representative within the Galactic Senate. In addition to this role, he held the position of senator for his homeworld, Muunilinst, a planet situated in the Outer Rim Territories. During his tenure as the Banking Clan's representative, he engaged in clandestine discussions with fellow senators Lott Dod from the Trade Federation and Gume Saam of the Techno Union, prompted by the introduction of a bill aimed at deregulating the banking sector. Within their assembly, Saam suggested killing their adversary, Padmé Amidala of Naboo, a proposition dismissed by both Card and Dod, who asserted that the Banking Clan and the Trade Federation were focused on "business not violence." Instead, Senator Card engaged in dialogue with Count Dooku and the latter's enforcer, General Grievous, urging them to initiate an assault on Coruscant, the capital of the Republic. Responding to their Muun ally's request, the Separatists dispatched numerous Infiltrator demolition droids to the planet with the objective of destroying the Central power distribution grid of the capital.
When the Separatist Senate cast their votes in favor of commencing peace talks, Card once again convened with Dooku, Dod, and Saam. During this meeting, the Muun conveyed to the Sith Lord his concern regarding the Serennian's own senate's proposal for peace negotiations. To their relief, the Count reassured the senators that an attack was imminent, guaranteeing that their corporations would receive their due share, and even more, from the profits generated by the war. The demolition droids, under Grievous' command, succeeded in destroying the power distribution grid, inciting anger within the Senate, effectively terminating the peace proposal and securing Card's substantial income through the continuation of the conflict. Later, Senator Card was present at a slave market on Zygerria, where he observed Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and remarked that the Jedi were not as formidable as they seemed.
Subsequently, Card accompanied Amidala on a visit to Scipio, where Amidala and Clovis collaborated to devise a strategy for investigating the bank's missing funds. While Amidala entered the vault, Card, accompanied by a squad of Muun guards, escorted Clovis. Later, upon the loss of power within the vault, Card inquired about the situation from one of the Muun guards. After the Naboo senator and the Core Five departed from the vault, Amidala returned to her quarters, only to be placed under arrest by Card on charges of espionage. As Amidala and Clovis made their escape from Scipio with stolen files capable of exposing the corruption within the Muun organization, Card asserted that Clu Lesser, the spokesperson for the Core Five, was solely responsible for allowing these events to transpire. Following the incrimination of Lesser, Card communicated with his patron, Darth Sidious, informing him of Clovis and Amidala's current status. The Sith Lord responded by stating that they would proceed with the next phase of their plan, and upon Card's inquiry, he assured the Muun that he would receive protection. With Clovis's demise, Card relinquished control of the banks to Palpatine - the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic and Darth Sidious' public identity.

Nix Card originated from the planetary system of Scipio. At some stage, he transitioned into an operative serving the Sith, engaging in secret agreements with Count Dooku and Darth Sidious. By the year 21 BBY during the era of the Clone Wars, Card held the position of Senator representing the InterGalactic Banking Clan within the Galactic Republic's Senate, succeeding Baron Rush Clovis. Following the introduction of a bill that aimed to deregulate the banking institutions, Card engaged in discussions with Trade Federation Senator Lott Dod and Techno Union Senator Gume Saam within his designated office, addressing the underlying reasons for its failure to pass. Despite Saam's proposition to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala, Card concurred with Dod's assessment that the elimination of the young Senator from Naboo would prove to be an ill-advised course of action, as he perceived the Banking Clan and the Trade Federation as primarily focused on commercial endeavors rather than resorting to violence. He also believed that the Senate would not deregulate the banks even if Amidala was no longer alive, leading him to suggest that they needed to bring the War to Coruscant to compel the congress to deregulate the banks. Consequently, the Muun Senator opted to establish contact with his clientele aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Senator Card engaged in dialogue with Dooku, formally requesting the orchestration of an attack targeting Coruscant. Subsequently, Count Dooku delegated the responsibility of overseeing the mission to General Grievous, the leader of the droid army. The Muun Senator's entreaties were initially met with the Supreme Commander's displeasure; however, the latter ultimately acquiesced, proceeding to assemble a specialized unit of demolition droids.
Following the Separatist Senate's affirmative vote to initiate peace negotiations with the Republic, Card, Dod, and Saam convened with Dooku. They voiced their discontent regarding the Separatist Congress's decision to commence negotiations; however, the Count provided reassurance, affirming that the prospects of peace would be nullified following their impending offensive, thereby securing the continued prosperity of their respective megacorporations. To the relief of Card, Dod, and Saam, Dooku and Grievous successfully executed the assault. Upon confirming the Confederacy's involvement, the Galactic Senate was swayed by Saam to retaliate through the deregulation of the banks, thereby facilitating access to urgently needed funds for military expenditures.
In the year 20 BBY, Senator Card was in attendance at a slave auction held on the planet of Zygerria, where he made the assertion that the Jedi were not as formidable as commonly perceived, following his observation of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi's undergoing torture. He also paid visits to various enslavers, who showcased their respective slaves.

In the year 19 BBY, he later made a visit to the planet of Scipio in the company of Senator Amidala, where Amidala and Rush Clovis, an operative affiliated with the Core Five, formulated a strategy aimed at conducting an inquiry into the missing funds belonging to the InterGalactic Banking Clan. As Amidala gained entry into the vault, Card, accompanied by a squad of Muun guards, escorted Clovis. Subsequently, upon the occurrence of a power outage within the vault, Card directed an inquiry to one of the Muun guards concerning the situation, to which the Muun responded by indicating that the power supply had been disrupted and that a period of time would be required to transition to an alternative power generator. Following the departure of Amidala and the Core Five from the vault—and Amidala's acquisition of data pertaining to the missing funds—the senator returned to her designated quarters, where Card, along with two Muun guards, placed her under arrest on charges of espionage. Subsequently, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Amidala's secret husband, successfully extricated Amidala from a prison cell in which she was being held. Upon Amidala's disclosure of the files being held by Clovis, Amidala journeyed to Clovis' private residence and rescued Clovis from Embo, a bounty hunter seemingly tasked with eliminating him.

As Amidala and Clovis absconded from Scipio carrying stolen files capable of revealing the status of the Muun organization, Card apprised Clu Lesser, the spokesperson for the Core Five, of the unfolding events. He then proceeded to assert that the governing board alone had permitted the events to transpire. Following the accusation directed at Lesser, Card hastened to his private chambers, where he established contact with Darth Sidious, providing him with an account of the transpired events. Pleased, the Sith Lord informed the Senator that they would subsequently proceed with the next phase of their planned proceedings. Perturbed, Card inquired about his own well-being, to which Sidious provided assurance that he would be shielded from the forthcoming events. After Clovis assumed control of the Banking Clan, Dooku compelled Clovis to eliminate interest rates for the Separatists and elevate those for the Republic, a decision that incensed the Senate.

Acting in accordance with Sidious's directives, Dooku dispatched his flotilla to Scipio, where his forces, under the command of himself and Kraken, a tactical droid, invaded the planet, thereby prompting the Republic to reciprocate. Upon the Republic's arrival, the Separatists withdrew their invasion, and Clovis met his demise when he plummeted from a tower as a consequence of a Hyenna-class droid fighter's crashing into it. Following the stabilization of Scipio, Card addressed the Senate, concluding that Clovis's purported treachery served as evidence of the current leadership's inadequacy, thus enabling him to transfer control of the banks to the Office of the Supreme Chancellor, in pursuit of "a better tomorrow." Card's decision aligned precisely with the master plan orchestrated by Palpatine, the Supreme Chancellor and Sidious's concealed identity.
Originating from Scipio, Nix Card was a Muun male characterized by his cunning nature, despite his status as a mere pawn in the machinations of Dooku and Darth Sidious. The Muun exhibited arrogance, not only toward his adversaries but also toward his peers. He possessed fair skin and yellow eyes. His height measured 2.46 meters, and his hands were distinguished by five elongated and slender fingers.
Nix Card was typically seen wearing a hat that covered the top of his head, along with a red and black-colored tunic that enveloped his entire body. He maintained an office on Coruscant.
Card made his inaugural appearance in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, specifically in the tenth episode of the third season, entitled "Heroes on Both Sides," which was broadcast on November 19, 2010. The character of Card was voiced by Corey Burton.
