Nod

On Castilon, residing on the Colossus, was a criminal Snivvian named Nod, identified as male. He was a common face alongside his brother, Narb, at locations such as Aunt Z's Tavern, the Colossus marketplace, or observing the frequently held races. One particular evening, an argument arose between the brothers, during which they discovered Kazuda Xiono eavesdropping. While they issued threats, Kazuda managed to escape. Later, Nod initiated a search for Narb when he failed to return after an attempted robbery of the Office of Acquisitions. Confronting the owners with a blaster, Nod was outsmarted and found himself falling through a trap door they activated.

Biography

The Arrival of Kaz

Nod (left) became involved in an all-out bar fight between the patrons.

During the era of the New Republic, Nod made his home on the Colossus, an autonomous refueling station orbiting Castilon. At one juncture, both he and his brother Narb were present at Aunt Z's tavern. Their visit coincided with a disturbance involving the human Kazuda Xiono and the Klatooinian Bolza Grool. Grevel, an Aleena employed by Narb, attempted to intervene to recover credits owed by Xiono, only to be thrown by Grool, landing in Nod's arms. While in the Snivvian's hold, Grevel retaliated by throwing a cup at Grool, who then hurled Xiono into a serving droid. A cup dislodged from the droid's grasp, striking the Rodian Glem, prompting him to launch cups at Nod. Irritated, Nod joined the fray, escalating into a full-scale bar brawl that ended only when Jarek Yeager intervened with his blaster.

Soon after, the Nikto Neeku entered the tavern to announce Xiono as the latest contender in the Colossus's regular races. Despite Xiono's lack of intention, Nod and the other patrons voiced their support. Later, Nod and Narb were among the spectators at a race. Xiono and Neeku soon joined them, and the race's announcer, Jak Sivrak, introduced Xiono as the new challenger. Sivrak presented Xiono with the racers and asked him to select an opponent. Xiono's choice of Torra Doza elicited laughter from the crowd. Nod attended their race the following day, witnessing the crash of Xiono's racer, the Fireball, into the ocean.

Market Dealings

Narb and Nod confront Kazuda Xiono

On one occasion, Nod confronted Narb regarding an outstanding debt. During their dispute, Nod spotted Xiono concealed behind a crate and seized him by the collar. Grevel then reappeared, again seeking to collect Xiono's debt, prompting Xiono to flee. Nod and Narb pursued him through the Colossus marketplace, where Grevel tripped Xiono with a box. Nod and Narb apprehended him, and Grevel led them away from the public area. Grool happened upon the confrontation, and Xiono's droid, BB-8, discharged an electrical shock, causing his crate of gorgs to spill. The gorgs landed on Grevel and the Snivvians, allowing Xiono to escape.

At one point, Nod was engaged in conversation with Narb and another individual in the marketplace when Commander Pyre and two First Order stormtroopers were questioning residents about the whereabouts of two children. He and Narb were also conversing in the market when BB-8 was searching for Kaz and when the residents were confronting Torra Doza on the recent race cancellations.

When Marcus Speedstar arrived at the Colossus to participate in the racing competition known as the Platform Classic, he visited Aunt Z's tavern, where Nod, Narb, and the other patrons offered to buy him a drink. Speedstar politely declined, and they left him alone. Yeager then entered the tavern and challenged Speedstar to the Platform Classic. Speedstar accepted, and Aunt Z initiated the betting for the race. Nod promptly placed his bet. He later watched the race alongside Narb.

The Search for Narb

Later, Narb ventured to the Office of Acquisitions armed with a blaster with the intent of robbing Flix and Orka, the owners, of their credits. When he failed to return, Nod, also armed with a blaster, went in search of his brother. The pair attempted to misdirect Nod regarding Narb's location, strategically positioning him above their trap door. Once Nod was situated over the trap door, Flix activated the release mechanism. Nod eventually reunited with Narb, and shortly thereafter, they attended another race together. During the race, they stood on either side of Grevel. Nod was seated at the bar in Aunt Z's when Kaz received his drink from Aunt Z. When the Mirialan Synara San visited Kaz, Torra invited them and Tamara Ryvora to engage in a game at Doza Tower.

During the Occupation

Following the First Order's deployment of patrols on the Colossus, Nod and Narb were present in the marketplace when the fifth TIE fighter arrived at the refueling station. Shortly thereafter, three stormtroopers passed by and confronted Glem about his identification, nearly arresting him before he was able to produce it. As the stormtroopers continued to treat the residents harshly, some of them assembled in the marketplace to protest their presence. Nod and Narb soon joined the gathering as night fell, and they hurled produce at the trooper CS-515, who was secretly Xiono in disguise, fleeing from a squad of stormtroopers seeking to apprehend him. As he ran past Nod and the other residents, the intercepting squad arrived, also becoming targets of the fruit thrown by the protesters. The squad leader, CS-812, attempted to fire his blaster into the air, but this proved ineffective. Another stormtrooper then set their blaster to stun and fired at the crowd. The residents were compelled to cease their actions and raise their hands, enabling CS-831 to locate the rogue trooper his squad was pursuing. After pinpointing him on the squad's tracker, 812 stunned Nod and Narb to create an exit, and they retreated into the corridors.

On one occasion, Nod was at Aunt Z's requesting a drink when Grevel began arguing with a First Order BB-series astromech droid, ultimately conceding. Two stormtroopers then joined the BB unit, prompting Nod to depart, shaking his head at them as he left. However, he was soon apprehended by the First Order. They confined him to a crate at the West Docks alongside Grevel, Aunt Z, and Hype Fazon, all of whom had previously clashed with the First Order. Aunt Z continued to reject her status as a prisoner while the other three sat helplessly on the other side. They eventually learned of their impending off-world transport after overhearing stormtroopers escorting other prisoners to their designated ship.

While awaiting their departure, Aunt Z shared some stories. As she concluded one that elicited laughter from Nod and the others, Xiono, who had infiltrated the West Docks with Torra Doza, whispered into the crate, suggesting that Aunt Z attempt to steal their transport. She immediately agreed, before Xiono and Doza were forced to retreat as more stormtroopers arrived. The troopers removed Nod and the others from the crate and escorted them to the transport. After they boarded, Xiono and Doza attacked the guards stationed at the boarding ramp. The stormtroopers guarding Nod and the others then rushed to confront them when Aunt Z attacked them, knocking them unconscious. Nod and Grevel fled the scene as the fight ensued, leaving Aunt Z and the others to resolve it for them.

The Uprising

Xiono later devised a plan to submerge the Colossus, leaving only Doza Tower at the summit above water. As he executed this plan, the remainder of the platform was sealed off to prevent flooding. Following the arrest of Jarek Yeager for his involvement in the operation, Commander Pyre addressed the Colossus residents. At this time, Nod was in the now-abandoned marketplace, pilfering items from the stalls.

Nod was a male Snivvian characterized by brown skin, dark brown hair, and black eyes. He maintained a close association with his brother Narb and demonstrated concern for his well-being when he failed to return from his attempted robbery of the Office of Acquisitions. He was easily provoked by others, assaulting Glem for throwing cups at him and seizing Xiono by the throat upon discovering him eavesdropping.

Equipment

Nod typically wore a sand-colored shirt and trousers paired with a gray overshirt. He also sported a brown tunic and brown boots. For combat situations, he possessed a blaster and wore protective armor plating on his forearms.

Behind the scenes

Nod was conceived for Star Wars Resistance, making his debut in the Season One premiere "The Recruit." He was subsequently identified in the following episode, "The Triple Dark," where his voice was provided by Jonathan Lipow.
