A male Kadas'sa'Nikto technician named Neeku Vozo was a member of Team Fireball stationed on the Colossus. During his assignment on the Colossus to look into First Order activities, he later became friends with Kazuda Xiono, a Resistance undercover agent. Neeku took on the role of the station's head engineer during the subsequent search for the Colossus.

Neeku Vozo was a native of the planet Kintan, and he came from a lineage of bantha farmers. However, he was considered a "prodigy" by his family and community. As a child, Vozo was captivated by the heroic stories told by his elders, particularly those about pirates who "stole from the wealthy to give to the needy." These narratives painted a romantic picture of criminals and their lifestyles in the young Vozo's mind. Vozo's parents struggled to comprehend his desire to become a mechanic, but they made the sacrifice of selling their most valuable bantha calves to enable his apprenticeship as a skilled engineer. After leaving his home, Vozo once had a pet named Lucky, who reminded him of his origins. Eventually, Lucky passed away, which led Vozo to consume the remains of his pet.
During the New Republic period, Neeku Vozo secured employment as a technician at Jarek Yeager's repair facility on the Colossus, a large fuel depot situated on the Outer Rim aquatic planet of Castilon. Jarek Yeager was a former New Republic starfighter pilot. He collaborated with Tamara Ryvora, a female human, and R1-J5, an astromech droid known as "Bucket."
In 34 ABY, Neeku overheard a conversation between two visitors: Poe Dameron, a Resistance pilot, and Kazuda Xiono, a former New Republic starfighter pilot who had become a Resistance agent. Neeku recognized Dameron and greeted him, mentioning that it had been a while since their last encounter. Misinterpreting Xiono's comment about his childhood ambition to become the best starfighter pilot in the galaxy, Neeku announced to a crowd at Aunt Z's Tavern that Kaz was indeed the "best starfighter pilot in the galaxy."
After Kaz found himself embroiled in a fight triggered by Grevel's dishonest holo-darts game, he attempted to clarify his earlier statement about being the best starfighter pilot in the galaxy. Neeku, taking his words literally, felt deceived and took offense. To make amends, Kaz reluctantly agreed to prove his piloting skills by competing against Torra Doza, an elite Ace Squadron pilot and the daughter of Captain Imanuel Doza, the commanding officer of the Colossus.
Neeku later went with Kaz to Yeager's repair shop to borrow Tam Ryvora's racer, the Fireball. Given the Fireball's poor condition, Yeager instructed Neeku and Kaz to acquire replacement parts from Flix and Orka's Office of Acquisitions. When Kaz requested Neeku's assistance in obtaining the parts, Neeku informed him that he would have to pay for them himself. After Neeku intervened on Kaz's behalf, Orka agreed to provide secondhand parts in exchange for a gorg for lunch.
The following day, Kaz participated in the race. Due to the Fireball's dilapidated state, the ship crashed into the ocean after its engines failed. After Kaz was rescued from the water, Neeku expressed his relief that Kaz had survived unharmed and praised his exceptional piloting skills. Yeager, who was friends with Poe and aware of Kaz's role as a Resistance spy, agreed to hire Kaz as a mechanic to maintain his cover on the Colossus. Kaz was also accompanied by BB-8, Poe's BB-series astromech droid, who was assigned to watch over the young spy.
While Yeager tolerated Kaz's presence and Tam and Bucket harbored resentment towards the newcomer, Neeku remained friendly with Kaz. Neeku showed interest in Kaz's lucky trophy. In return, Neeku shared the tragic story of his former pet, Lucky, with Kaz. Given Kaz's lack of mechanical experience, Yeager entrusted Neeku with overseeing Kaz's repairs on Hallion Nark, a Neimoidian visitor's starship.
Unbeknownst to Neeku and the others, Nark was a spy working for Kragan Gorr and his Warbird gang. When the Warbirds launched an attack on the Colossus under the cover of a triple dark storm, Neeku and the rest of Team Fireball sought shelter. Kaz used Yeager's equipment to disrupt the pirates' communications, forcing them to retreat.
When Kaz struggled to repair an engine, Neeku offered encouragement and advised him that an engine was not a sentient being. After Jace Rucklin, a racer and troublemaker, and his associates befriended Kaz, Neeku cautioned Kaz to be wary of the youths, describing them as "lazy, always laughing, playing pranks on others, and not focused on their work."
Neeku's warnings proved accurate when Jace took advantage of a visit to Yeager's office to steal a container of volatile hyperfuel. After the theft was discovered, Neeku warned Kaz that hyperfuel was highly unstable and could cause catastrophic explosions. Realizing that Rucklin had stolen the hyperfuel, Kaz managed to apprehend Rucklin but destroyed Rucklin's racer in the process.
After testing comlinks during a power outage, Neeku and his colleagues Kaz and Tam went to Aunt Z's Tavern for a meal of Cirilian Sour Pastes. After experiencing another blackout, the trio encountered Hype Fazon, the Ace leader, who was a celebrity on the Colossus. While Neeku and Kaz were friendly towards Hype, Tam was hostile towards the Ace leader because she was bitter that her former friend Hype had abandoned her during her racing days.
Shortly afterward, a First Order delegation led by Major Elrik Vonreg arrived on the Colossus to negotiate a fuel supply agreement with Captain Imanuel Doza. Aware of Kaz's interest in the First Order, Neeku attempted to engage in conversation with the First Order stormtroopers, but they ignored him. As a precaution, Kaz confiscated the other half of the comlink.
Seeking to gain favor, Hype invited Neeku and his friends to the High Tower, an invitation that Neeku and Kaz accepted. Tam reluctantly agreed to join them. While Neeku and Tam socialized with Hype, Kaz seized the opportunity to spy on Captain Doza's meeting with Major Vonreg. Kaz was later forced to flee when stormtroopers spotted him.
While having drinks with Tam at Aunt Z's Tavern, Neeku, Tam, and the other patrons witnessed Kaz navigating over the ledge to escape the stormtroopers. Neeku joined the other patrons in cheering for Kaz, while Tam expressed concern for the young mechanic. Kaz successfully escaped through a blast door. After returning to Yeager's repairs, Kaz returned Neeku's comlink. Neeku was delighted to have his comlink back, but Kaz cautioned him against using it when they were in the same room.
Neeku assisted Tam and Kaz in installing an acceleration compensator. After Kaz accidentally damaged the compensator, Neeku felt sorry for Kaz and paid for his glass of water at Aunt Z's Tavern. When Kaz learned about a reward for two missing children and decided to claim it to purchase a new compensator, Neeku told Kaz that he was not a bounty hunter. However, Kaz convinced Neeku that he could buy a new compensator for Tam and help the children, making it a win-win situation.
Neeku, along with Kaz and BB-8, soon encountered the children Kel and Eila in the Colossus marketplace. Kaz tried to explain to the children that he was there to help them, but they were distrustful and ran away. Neeku then told Kaz that he had friends who could assist them in finding the children. Neeku led Kaz and BB-8 to the engineering deck, which was the territory of the Chelidae, also known as the "Shell folk." The Chelidae agreed to help.
Shortly after, Neeku, Kaz, and BB-8 were summoned by the security droid 4D-M1N for a meeting with Captain Doza at Doza Tower. Doza questioned Kaz about his interest in the children before dismissing them. Later, Neeku and Kaz received information from the Chelidae leader that his people had located Kel and Eila. Upon meeting the children, Neeku, Kaz, and BB-8 learned that they were survivors of a First Order massacre on Tehar perpetrated by Kylo Ren, and that the First Order was hunting them down to eliminate all remaining survivors of the massacre.
Since Eila had a leg injury, Neeku accompanied Kel and Kaz to the marketplace to find a medicinal herb. However, First Order forces led by Commander Pyre arrived to capture the children, having been informed by Captain Doza. After escaping back to the engineering deck, Kaz devised a plan to deceive the First Order into believing that Kel and Eila had jumped to their deaths below. Kaz's plan was successful, and the children were able to find refuge with the Chelidae. As an added bonus, Kaz managed to appease Tam by obtaining an acceleration compensator from the Chelidae.
Neeku was asleep when Kaz departed with Yeager on an early morning "salvage run." Unbeknownst to Neeku, this salvage run was actually a starfighter training exercise with Kaz's mentor, Dameron. During the flight, the two Resistance pilots investigated a distress signal in sector six of the Castilon system. They rescued Synara San, a crew member who turned out to be a member of Kragan Gorr's Warbird gang.
Later, Neeku was working in Yeager's repair station when BB-8 embarked on a frantic search for Kaz, who had been working on a targeting computer the entire time.
Neeku and his fellow Team Fireball mechanics received a contract from Captain Doza to repair the station's air defense system's tracking computer. While working on the computer, Vozo discovered that they needed a new CoMar Tri-Tracker chip, a rare military component. Since Neeku was known for being a "chatterbox," Yeager instructed him to work in the garage and postpone his lunch break.
After Kaz and Tam returned with a tracker chip provided by Synara San, Yeager allowed Vozo to take a break but ordered them to keep their operation secret. Vozo took it literally and muffled his mouth. Neeku's muffled speech annoyed Kaz and Tam, who struggled to understand him. Later, Synara San visited to give Xiono some connector couplings. In reality, she wanted to confirm that the platform's air defense system was disabled.
After Tam returned from her lunch break, Kaz asked Neeku about the likelihood of a pirate attack. Before Neeku could answer, Kragan Gorr and his pirates attacked the Colossus. During the attack, Neeku and Bucket hid inside the supply closet. Following the attack, Neeku recounted his and Bucket's ordeal to an exhausted Yeager, who had just returned from installing the tracking computer into the air defense system.
Neeku and his fellow crew were working on the Fireball racer when Tam informed them about the upcoming Platform Classic race. When Kaz mentioned a rumor that would make the Platform Classic the "greatest race" in the galaxy, Neeku thought he was joking. Shortly after, Neeku accompanied Yeager and the rest of Team Fireball to a meeting with Captain Doza, who wanted Yeager to compete in the Platform Classic against Marcus Speedstar, a galactic racing champion and Yeager's estranged younger brother.
While Neeku and the other members of Team Fireball were excited by Marcus Speedstar's presence at the Platform Classic, Yeager remained hostile towards Marcus for causing the deaths of his wife and daughter. After returning to the workshop, Neeku asked Yeager why his brother had a different surname. Yeager was annoyed that Neeku thought that Speedstar was a proper surname.
When Speedstar visited Yeager's garage to attempt to reconcile with his older brother, Neeku introduced Yeager's Esral'sa'Nikto Oplock and astromech droid R4-D12 to his teammates. When Oplock howled, Yeager reassured Kaz and Tam that this was a traditional Esral'sa'Nikto greeting.
Later, Neeku accompanied Yeager and the rest of the team to Aunt Z's Tavern, where Yeager attempted to force Speedstar to withdraw from the race. Speedstar refused because he needed to repay his debts to the Guavian Death Gang to secure Oplock's release. Yeager's plan backfired when Aunt Z and her patrons began betting on the two brothers.
While Yeager was preparing his racer for the race, Neeku asked Yeager why he had stopped speaking to his younger brother. Without revealing the details of their falling out, Yeager told Neeku that Speedstar had not been there when he needed him.
Neeku and the rest of Team Fireball watched the Platform Classic on a holoscreen. During the descent phase, Neeku remarked that he could not bear to watch. During the race, Yeager and Speedstar reconciled after Yeager realized that Speedstar genuinely cared for Oplock. Yeager then withdrew near the finish line, allowing Speedstar to win the race and claim the prize money to pay Oplock's ransom. Neeku and the rest of Team Fireball were present when Yeager and Speedstar parted ways on amicable terms.
Neeku and his fellow Team Fireball members and Torra Doza later played a game of holo-darts at Aunt Z's Tavern. Xiono missed all three shots in his round. Bucket managed to hit the bull's eye twice, but the third dart struck Xiono in the backside.
As a reward for his hard work, Yeager treated Neeku to lunch and allowed him to buy anything he wanted. Neeku decided to buy a gorg from Bolza Grool's stall in the Colossus marketplace. However, the gorg escaped and led Neeku on a chase through the market. Following the chase, Neeku changed his mind and decided to have bantha milk instead. Yeager remarked to BB-8 that Neeku could have gotten a droid instead.
Neeku was present with Ryvora when Xiono took a test flight in the Fireball. Xiono managed to circle the Fireball with Torra Doza's Blue Ace. However, the ship's throttle broke, causing Xiono to descend rapidly into Yeager's hangar. Xiono managed to regain control of the ship and land it safely. However, the Fireball's landing gear and canopy soon fell apart.
Neeku and Xiono later visited Synara San at the Colossus loading docks in search of parts for the Fireball. Synara retrieved the wreckage of a Z-95 Headhunter from the sea. They discovered a baby rokkna inside the Z-95 Headhunter's engine. Neeku quickly took a liking to the creature, believing it reminded him of a pet he had as a hatchling back home. To the dismay of Kaz and Synara, Neeku adopted the creature as his pet, named him Bibo, and hugged him.
Neeku's new pet created tension with his employer, Yeager, and colleagues Ryvora and Kaz. Despite Yeager's "no pets" policy, Yeager relented after Neeku promised to share his bunk and rations with Bibo. Despite Neeku's efforts to keep Bibo contained, Bibo wreaked havoc around Yeager's garage, annoying Yeager and terrifying the astromech droid Bucket. Having had enough of Bibo's disruptive behavior, Yeager ordered Neeku to get rid of Bibo.
Unwilling to abandon his new pet, Neeku responded that he would also leave, provoking a gasp from Tam. When a shocked Yeager asked what he had said, Neeku responded that he had never asked anything of him in all his years of service, but that if he rejected Bibo, he would resign. Bibo then ran away, and Neeku chased after him. In response, Tam spoke up for Neeku's affection for Bibo and criticized Yeager for his perceived leniency towards Xiono.
A distraught Neeku searched the Colossus marketplace for Bibo but found no sign of him. Tam consoled him and reassured Vozo that they would find Bibo. After hearing news about a disturbance in the engineering deck from Yeager, Neeku and Tam ventured down there, where they met the Chelidae and the two human orphans Kel and Eila, who had found Bibo. Neeku introduced Tam to Kel and Eila, telling her that they were the "shell folk"'s helpers. Eila then sensed through the Force that something was coming for Bibo.

Shortly after, the Colossus was targeted in an assault by a massive rokkna. Captain Doza, forewarned by Kaz and Synara, reacted swiftly, sealing the station. The Fireball, piloted by Kaz, and Ace Squadron joined forces in an attempt to repel the colossal sea beast, but their attacks proved ineffective against its thick hide. As the rokkna tightened its grasp on the station, Tam and the other inhabitants of the Colossus began imploring Neeku to relinquish Bibo. After witnessing the rokkna peering into the viewport, Neeku came to the realization that appeasing the creature required him to give up Bibo.
Mustering his courage, Neeku carried Bibo to the rokkna on a nearby platform. To Neeku and Tam's astonishment, the rokkna tenderly embraced Bibo. This event led Neeku and the others to understand that the rokkna was Bibo's mother. A heartbroken Neeku was comforted by Tam. Later, Kaz attempted to lift Neeku's spirits by presenting him with the gorg Lubo as a potential pet. However, Neeku, mistaking the gorg for sustenance, promptly consumed it.
After Kaz successfully installed a new GX engine, repulsorlifts, and injectors, Neeku, Tam, and Yeager showered Kaz with compliments, acknowledging his improved mechanical abilities. Kaz revealed to his colleagues that he had acquired the components from Flix and Orka in exchange for managing their establishment, the Office of Acquisitions. Subsequently, Kaz thwarted a First Order plot aimed at stealing a crucial phase connector.
While Neeku and Kaz were repairing a speeder bike, BB-8's antics irritated Bucket, triggering a quarrel between the droids. Later that evening, the Warbird pirate gang was contracted by the First Order to kidnap Captain Doza's daughter, Torra Doza. However, the First Order betrayed the pirates and rescued Torra, thereby persuading Captain Doza to accept their "protection."
Following the First Order's occupation of the Colossus, Neeku noticed the arrival of TIE/fo space superiority fighters. Neeku was also present at Yeager's garage when stormtroopers arrived, seeking details about Kaz's acquaintance, Synara San. Kaz successfully diverted suspicion by reminding them that he had been instrumental in alerting Captain Doza to Torra's abduction. Subsequently, Kaz sought Neeku's assistance in guiding him and Synara to the lower levels of the Colossus, enabling Synara to escape the First Order in an escape pod and rejoin the Warbirds.
During the First Order's control, Neeku participated in a discussion with Kaz, Tam, and Yeager regarding the First Order and its predecessor, the "Old Empire." Neeku echoed Tam's sentiment that the First Order provided a sense of security. Yeager countered, arguing that the First Order was barely distinguishable from the Empire, sacrificing freedom under the pretense of security. Tamara, whose grandfather had been employed as a factory worker under the Empire, disputed the notion that the Empire was inherently evil. Following her departure in anger, Neeku followed after her.
When the refugees Kel and Eila sought Kaz's assistance at Yeager's garage, Neeku and Tam accompanied Kaz and discovered that the two children had incapacitated a First Order stormtrooper identified as CS-515. To confirm that CS-515 had not reported the children, Kaz donned the stormtrooper's armor and infiltrated the First Order base, seizing the opportunity to steal a data rod containing intelligence on First Order fleet movements.
While under the care of Neeku and his companions, CS-515 regained consciousness and inquired about his location. Neeku feigned friendship with the stormtrooper, explaining that he was disoriented due to being knocked unconscious. After gaining the stormtrooper's confidence, Neeku incapacitated him once more using an electro-shock prod. Upon Kaz's return, they managed to return CS-515 to his armor and conceal him. However, CS-515 was subsequently reprogrammed due to his perceived "erratic behavior," while Kaz was impersonating him.
Neeku was engaged in servicing a racer alongside Tam, Bucket, and Yeager when Xiono returned from a Mission to the Dassal system. When Neeku and Tam inquired about his whereabouts and the location of the Fireball, Xiono claimed that he had taken the fighter for a brief flight. When Neeku inquired about BB-8, Xiono asserted that he had taken the droid to Takodana for repairs and that CB-23 was on loan. Neeku expressed his longing for BB-8's return.
Later, Neeku suggested that Kaz and Tam participate in an upcoming race against the Aces the following week. Neeku was also present at Aunt Z's Tavern when the First Order attempted to display a recruitment poster. Aunt Z voiced her opposition to their presence. Subsequently, the First Order cancelled all races on the Colossus as a security precaution.
Neeku and his fellow Team Fireball members frequented Aunt Z's Tavern. While Neeku appreciated the security provided by the First Order, he voiced concerns regarding the restrictions imposed by the First Order garrison and the communications blackout. Following the disappearance of the racer Hype Fazon, Aunt Z accused the First Order of involvement in his disappearance and hurled a propaganda poster at a stormtrooper patrol.
Following Aunt Z's disappearance, Neeku informed Kaz that Yeager was conducting a private meeting in his office. Kaz interrupted the meeting and discovered Yeager conversing with Commander Doza, who was concerned about the First Order detaining individuals at the West Docks. When Neeku inquired about the meeting, Yeager claimed that they were organizing a social event to boost morale.
Neeku and the other members of Team Fireball, with the exception of Kaz, were present when the garage was raided by Commander Pyre and his stormtroopers. Pyre revealed that the Fireball had breached Sector Epsilon 51-3 and accused Team Fireball of conspiring against the First Order. Before Pyre could apprehend them, Bucket discharged foam at the stormtroopers, enabling Neeku and the majority of Team Fireball to escape. However, Tamara surrendered, believing the situation to be the result of a misunderstanding.
Neeku, who was not yet affiliated with the Resistance, was taken aback to learn of Kaz's involvement with the Resistance. Despite his surprise, he remained loyal to Yeager and Kaz. Upon reaching the engineering deck, Neeku, Yeager, Kaz, and CB-23 reunited with Bucket, Kel, Eila, and the Chelidae. Collaborating with Captain Doza, they submerged the Colossus, allowing Yeager and Kaz to reach the summit of Doza Tower and disable the transmitter, enabling Kaz to contact the Resistance. However, Yeager was captured, and General Leia Organa was unable to dispatch reinforcements to Castilon. In response, Kaz established the Colossus resistance and enlisted Neeku, CB-23, Kel, Eila, and the Chelidae as members.

Following the formation of the Colossus resistance, Neeku was informed of Kaz's strategy to rescue Yeager and Captain Doza from First Order captivity and escape to Hosnian Prime to solicit reinforcements. Struggling to reconcile with Kaz's dual identity as a spy, Neeku initially doubted that Kaz was the son of a senator.
Prior to initiating their rescue operation, the Colossus resistance seized control of the hyperdrive chamber. Neeku, along with Kel, Eila, and the Chelidae, remained inside the chamber while Kaz and CB-23 attempted to swim to Doza Tower. However, they were pursued by First Order SCUBA troopers, who cornered them beneath the engineering deck. At Kaz's urging, Neeku managed to depressurize the chamber, expelling the SCUBA troopers.
Kaz and CB-23 continued their mission by navigating through the corridors, establishing contact with Buggles and Torra Doza. Following the Hosnian Cataclysm, Kaz and Torra succeeded in freeing Yeager and Captain Doza. Collaborating with Kaz and Torra, Neeku, along with Kel and Eila, flooded the corridors, dislodging numerous stormtroopers. While Kaz and the others attempted to reason with Tamara Ryvora, who had been swayed by First Order Security Bureau Agent Tierny, Neeku and his team prepared the Colossus's launch, activating its engines and readying the hyperdrive.
The Colossus ascended into space amidst a dogfight involving Kaz, Yeager, Ace Squadron, the Warbird gang, and Major Elrik Vonreg's squadron. Upon reaching space, the Colossus and its starfighters jumped into hyperspace, evading Commander Pyre's Star Destroyer. While Neeku had charted a course to the Ileenium system, he lacked sufficient time to input all the coordinates.
Neeku was among those who welcomed Kazuda Xiono, Jarek Yeager, Synara San, and Norath Kev upon their return from the battle on Varkana. Neeku remarked that he found it amusing to see Xiono in stormtrooper armor once more, to which Xiono responded that the armor served primarily as a disguise.
After the Colossus was freed from the First Order and escaped Castilon, Vozo was instructed by Kragan Gorr and the Warbird gang to repair and reprogram a collection of antiquated B2-series super battle droids. Vozo pretended to be pleased to assist, having been deceived by the pirates, who told Vozo the droids were a gift and new security force for Captain Doza. However, Vozo had in fact realized Gorr's deception, finding the sheer number of super battle droids concerning. Vozo reprogrammed the droids to initially carry out the assault, while he meanwhile reprogrammed lone B1-series battle droid, B1, to act as the super battle droids' commander in the final attempt to prevent the mutiny. Vozo was captured alongside Kazuda and Synara, and soon escaped with assistance from B1. It was at this time that Vozo activated the failsafe, allowing B1 to gain control of the super battle droids, banishing the Warbird gang from the Colossus.
Once the Colossus entered the atmosphere of the planet Aeos Prime, Kazuda became concerned from the turbulence created by the stations atmospheric re-entry, believing it to mean they were under attack. Neeku corrected Kazuda, bringing him to the stations market where the blast doors opened, revealing the tropical surface of Aeos Prime.
After Kazuda and the other aces went to scout the planet, a trio of Aeosian's boarded the Colossus. Neeku attempted to treat them with courtesy by welcoming them and introducing himself. This did not work and they ignited their spear's in a threatening manner. B1 entered the scene with his squad of super battle droids following in an effort to gain control of the situation. Yeager asked Neeku to order B1 to stand down. Neeku cautiously ordered B1 not to get too close but it was in vain as one of the Aeosian soldiers attacked B1. The B2's began firing in an effort to push the Aeosians back. The B2's were quickly overwhelmed by the Aeosian's and Neeku, Yeager, Torra and Hype fled the scene.
It seemed that the group would be overwhelmed as more Aeosian soldiers approached but the advance ceased when the Aeosian Queen appeared along with Kaz and Griff. Kaz and Griff had made an alliance with the Queen while on their mission, giving them medicine in exchange for their lives. This allowed for Captain Doza to discuss staying on Aeos Prime with the permission of the Queen.
Some time after Kaz had aided in the rescue of Resistance Recruits, Kaz assisted Neeku in repairing the Fireball. During this, Tam transmitted a coded message to Kazuda's comlink. Neeku recognized this code as one he and Tam had devised to discuss Kazuda's mechanical shortcomings without his awareness. Neeku deciphered the code, revealing its meaning: "Meet me in three cycles in the place where Bibo lives." Kazuda interpreted this as a sign that Tam was defecting from the First Order and would soon be on Castilon.
While on their mission to save Tam, Yeager and Kazuda were captured. Neeku, while working on the Colossus's bridge, lost their signal.
While Captain Doza attempted to persuade the inhabitants of the Colossus to endorse his plan to attack the Star Destroyer carrying Kaz, Yeager, and Tam, Neeku interrupted the meeting with an urgent transmission from Kazuda. Kazuda and Tam implored the people of the Colossus to evacuate while they still had the chance before the First Order arrived, until their communication was abruptly cut off by incoming blaster fire. This transmission galvanized the people of the Colossus to resist, with Neeku joining in, exclaiming, "Let's blast some buckets!"
Neeku assisted on the Colossus's bridge during the ensuing conflict. Upon securing victory, Neeku expressed his elation to Captain Doza.
Neeku reunited with Tam who said she was sorry for what she had done. Neeku forgave her, saying all people make mistakes. Neeku, Tam, Kazuda and Yeager went to Aunt Z's together where they shared drinks. Neeku hugged Tam and Kaz as they were surrounded by Yeager, the Ace's and others that had fought in the battle against Pyre's Star Destroyer. They were all christened as "Team Colossus" by Aunt Z.
Neeku Vozo was a male Kadas'sa'Nikto distinguished by his black eyes and verdant complexion. He possessed a tendency to interpret statements literally. Neeku readily formed friendships but his literal interpretations often led to misunderstandings and complications. While Neeku was initially disappointed that Kaz was "not the best starfighter pilot in the galaxy," he forgave him after Kaz took part in a race with Torra Doza. Though Kaz lost and even crashed his ship, Neeku regarded Kaz as an exceptional pilot since he escaped uninjured.
Neeku's inclination to take things literally manifested in his muffled speech when Yeager instructed him to maintain the confidentiality of their tracking computer project. On another occasion, Neeku assumed that Marcus Speedstar's surname was a genuine name, unaware that it was merely a nickname. Neeku held Speedstar in high regard due to reputation as a galactic racing champion. Neeku also regarded gorgs as food rather than pets.
Having not experienced life under the Empire, Neeku lacked a full understanding of its oppressive and exploitative nature. He also initially shared Tamara's view that the First Order brought security to the Colossus. As the First Order's occupation became more restrictive and oppressive, Neeku came to question the increased First Order military presence and the communications blackout. Despite his initial appreciation of the First Order, Neeku's loyalty to his friend Kaz and employer Yeager led him to join Kaz's informal resistance cell.
While the rest of Team Fireball initially resented or barely tolerated Kaz's presence, Neeku went out of his way to befriend Kaz despite the latter's lack of mechanical skills. Neeku also recognized that the seemingly charismatic racer Jace Rucklin and his associates were idle and unscrupulous troublemakers. His warning was proven right when Rucklin took advantage of his friendship with Kaz to steal a bottle of volatile hyperfuel.
Neeku was friendly and approachable. He often sought to help others but in the process annoyed them or made the situation worse. On one occasion, he tried to chat with First Order stormtroopers in order to solicit information on Kaz's behalf. Neeku was also a kind-hearted individual and once treated the cash-strapped Kaz for a glass of water. As a discreet observer, Neeku told Kaz that he would not make a good bounty hunter due to the ethical implications of the job. Neeku also praised Kaz as his mechanical skills improved.
Neeku was surprised to learn that Kaz was a spy and initially did not believe that he was the son of a senator. However, he remained loyal to Kaz and supported Kaz's plan to free Yeager and Captain Doza and later to expel the First Order from the Colossus.
Neeku was a close friend of Tamara Ryvora. The two came up with a coded language that they used to gossip about Kazuda Xiono. When Neeku was upset about Yeager kicking out Bibo, Tamara spoke up for him and helped him to find the creature. When Bibo's mother attacked, she convinced him to return Bibo to his mother in order to save the Colossus from destruction.
Neeku showed great affection for the baby rokkna known as Bibo, adopting him as his pet. Neeku's love for his pet blinded him to Bibo's disruptive behavior. Neeku was greatly hurt when Yeager took offense at the mess that Bibo had cause and ordered Neeku to get rid of his pet. Neeku was so distraught that he threatened to resign. Only Tam understood Neeku's affection for Bibo and she helped him to find his pet. After Bibo's mother laid siege to the Colossus, Neeku took a leap of faith and reluctantly returned the creature to its mother.
Neeku Vozo was a skilled mechanic who was familiar with repairing starships and the dangers of hyperfuel. Neeku was familiar with comlinks but annoyed Kaz by using it in the same room. Besides speaking Galactic Basic Standard, Neeku could also speak several languages including the Chelidae language and the Nikto language Cracek.
As a resident of the Colossus, Neeku was familiar with the station's layout. He used this knowledge to help Synara San escape the First Order and find an escape pod that allowed her to reunite with her fellow pirates.
Neeku Vozo is a character created and developed for the Star Wars Resistance animated series. He is voiced by Josh Brener, who voiced Erskin Semaj in Star Wars Rebels.
