Tehar

A relatively unknown terrestrial planet, Tehar existed in the Mid Rim, situated close to the Unknown Regions. The Teharans, a human population, called this world home, and it housed a village containing a temple dedicated to the Force. In 34 ABY, the planet was utterly destroyed as a result of an attack carried out by First Order forces under the leadership of Kylo Ren.

Eila and Kel, Teharan children, became the sole survivors by secretly boarding a cargo ship. They eventually ended up on the Colossus refueling station. While trying to avoid being found by the First Order, the children shared the story of Tehar's destruction with Kazuda Xiono, a Resistance spy, as well as Tamara Ryvora and Neeku Vozo, who were mechanics.

Description

This terrestrial planet, Tehar, was to be found in the Mid Rim Territories, not far from the Unknown Regions. Its location was designated as grid square I-7 on the Standard Galactic Grid. Following the Attack on Tehar, commanded by Kylo Ren, the leader of the First Order, the planet was left as nothing more than smoldering remains.

History

Attack on Tehar

Tehar was not a widely known planet. In 34 ABY, Ren led First Order forces in an attack on a village situated on Tehar. The siblings Eila and Kel managed to survive, escaping aboard a cargo ship as their homeworld was being obliterated. The children made their way to the Colossus refueling station on the planet Castilon, where they attempted to remain hidden. The First Order discovered that there were survivors and placed a bounty of twenty thousand credits on the children, hoping to eliminate any evidence of the massacre that had occurred on Tehar.

Tehar natives Eila and Kel

After receiving information regarding the whereabouts of Eila and Kel, Captain Phasma of the First Order sent agents to the Colossus to locate the children. These agents included a tech stormtrooper and a standard stormtrooper, both under the direction of Commander Pyre. Eila expressed her wish to go back to Tehar, but Kel reminded her that there was nothing left for them there. The younglings then encountered the Chelidae, a species native to Castilon who worked in the Colossus's engineering levels. These individuals introduced them to Kazuda Xiono, a Resistance spy. Eila and Kel explained to Xiono, his droid companion BB-8, and his friend Neeku Vozo that they had escaped Tehar—a name that Xiono did not recognize—after Ren had destroyed their home. Xiono then pledged to assist the children in escaping the clutches of the First Order.

Teharans avoiding the First Order

Pyre reports the supposed deaths of the last Teharans to Phasma.

Subsequently, BB-8, Kel, Xiono, and Vozo went to the Colossus marketplace to obtain herbs to help treat Eila's broken leg. Kel was spotted by Phasma's forces, who then began to pursue the group. After they had returned to the engineering level, Xiono asked why the First Order was so interested in the children, a question that Eila could not answer. Xiono then came up with a plan to fake the children's deaths, with the assistance of the Chelidea. Pyre and his troopers were successfully fooled, and Pyre reported the supposed success to Phasma. Phasma was pleased with the report, stating that the name "Tehar" would be forgotten and that the Resistance would never discover the actions of the First Order. When Xiono informed Ello Asty, a member of the Resistance, about the incident, the Abednedo also did not recognize Tehar and suggested that the planet might be located in the Unknown Regions.

After the First Order occupied the Colossus, a stormtrooper known as CS-515 came across Eila and Kel while they were fishing for snarlfish. Because the children did not have an identification badge, CS-515 attempted to arrest the Teharans. The children resisted, and in the ensuing struggle, they knocked the trooper unconscious. Once again, the siblings sought Xiono's assistance, leading him, BB-8, Vozo, and Tamara Ryvora, a mechanic, to the unconscious body of CS-515. While the Resistance spy disguised himself as CS-515 to ensure that the stormtrooper had not reported the children's presence to the First Order, Ryvora also questioned why the First Order was hunting Eila and Kel. This prompted Eila to recount the planet's fate to her, although, as before, Kel was unable to provide a reason for the First Order's actions.

Tehar was represented by a space on the Sector Set board.

Later in 34 ABY, Eila and Kel traveled to the planet Ashas Ree. While exploring an outpost there, they discovered a temple of the Force that reminded Eila of the temple from their village on Tehar. Kel noted that the structure was larger than the Teharan temple and had unfamiliar symbols on its exterior. Later in that same year, Tehar was represented by a space in the board game Sector Set. Passengers aboard the Purrgil-class starcruiser Halcyon played the game in the starcruiser's Atrium.

At some point, the Attack on Tehar was recorded in the First Order Archives. In 35 ABY, Beaumont Kin, a historian, mentioned Tehar in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire as a victim of the First Order's conquest.
