Ferrix City

Ferrix City, a city situated on the planet of Ferrix within the Free Trade sector, served as the residence of Maarva Carassi Andor, her spouse Clem Andor, and their adopted offspring, Cassian Jeron Andor. Demonstrating a strong inclination towards rebellion, it was the location of a protest directed against the Galactic Republic in 18 BBY, an attack launched against a Pre-Mor security Inspection team in 5 BBY, and a significant riot opposing the Galactic Empire later in that same year.

History

Imperial occupation

Within the Morlani system, specifically on the planet Ferrix within the Free Trade sector, stood Ferrix City, which had ties to the Galactic Republic during the era of the Clone Wars. Following the conclusion of the war, it fell under Imperial control sometime after the Proclamation of the New Order. The initial clone trooper units of the Empire arrived in the city, accompanied by Imperial officers, in 18 BBY. The inhabitants of the town displayed unease at the sight of the new governing body, and a radical group of Ferrixians spontaneously initiated a protest. They hurled stones at the clone units as they marched along the main thoroughfare, Rix Road. The commanding officer in charge instructed the marching units to pivot and aim their weapons at the protestors, leading to the swift apprehension of all involved. Some individuals, including Clem Andor, were publicly executed, and their corpses were left hanging in Fountain Square for several days following the protest. Although the Empire soon departed from the planet, feelings of distrust and animosity towards the new authority persisted among the locals, who had not forgotten the terrible fate of their neighbors.

Return of the Empire

Sometime before 5 BBY, Ferrix, along with the rest of the Morlani system, was transferred to the control of the Preox-Morlana corporation. The corporation, along with its security force, known as the Pre-Mor Enforcement, preferred to leave the planet undisturbed, believing that "locals had their own way of doing things." The most recent census had been conducted in 11 BBY, and the locals were rarely visited by any corpos, whom they referred to as "the blues". However, this period of calm was disrupted when Cassian Jeron Andor, a local resident, traveled to the system capital, Morlana One, in search of his sister, Kerri. During his search, he engaged in a confrontation with two local corpos, Verlo Skiff and Kravas Drezzer, ultimately resulting in their deaths. Syril Karn, a Deputy Inspector with Pre-Mor, assumed responsibility for the case and quickly identified Andor, tracing him back to his hometown on Ferrix. He then organized a Pre-Mor Security Inspection team, led by Sergeant Linus Mosk, to apprehend him. Upon arriving in the city aboard three Mobile Tac-Pods, the corpos from the team encountered immediate resistance from the locals when they attempted to question Maarva Carassi Andor, Andor's beloved mother and former President of the local Daughters of Ferrix. A crowd quickly formed outside her house, harassing the officers by striking metallic objects along their path and removing street signs to disorient and intimidate them. The disoriented officers were soon ambushed by Andor, who, in collaboration with rebel spymaster Luthen Rael, had strategically placed explosive charges on the doors of the warehouse where they were hiding. This resulted in the deaths of the corpos who attempted to surround them and caught the remaining officers off guard with a trapped speeder. Leaving many officers dead or seriously wounded, Andor and Rael made their escape aboard Rael's Fondor Haulcraft.
