Pyke Boss
The Pyke Boss, a male Pyke, was the leader of the Pyke Syndicate's operations on the planet Tatooine. By 9 ABY, he had complete control of the syndicate. Around 5 ABY, issues arose between the Pyke operations and the local Tusken Raiders, leading to a demand for protection money for the indigenous people. The boss's superiors rejected this demand, as they were already paying the Nikto bikers of the Kintan Striders Gang. The Pyke boss discussed these arrangement issues with Boba Fett, the Tuskens' representative and a former bounty hunter, who assured him that the Nikto bikers would no longer be a problem.
The boss, having deceived Fett, ordered the destruction of the Tusken tribe and falsely implicated the Kintan Striders, prompting Fett's revenge. The ex-bounty hunter later became the Daimyo of Tatooine, but Mayor Mok Shaiz of the city Mos Espa defied him, promising the Daimyo's territories to the Pyke Syndicate. Consequently, the boss prepared to overthrow Fett, dispatching the bounty hunter Cad Bane to prevent the settlement of Freetown from siding with the Daimyo and orchestrating a bomb attack on the Sanctuary cantina in Mos Espa.
In collaboration with the leaders of Mos Espa's three families, the boss initiated an attack on the Fett gotra within Mos Espa. However, their forces were unable to defeat the gotra and retreated to the Mos Eisley [spaceport](/article/spaceport], where the boss had established his base. The Pyke informed the Mos Espa leaders of his intention to abandon Tatooine, much to their dismay. Their conversation was interrupted by an attack. As his allies were eliminated, the boss returned fire and attempted to confront the attacker, Fennec Shand. However, Shand fatally stabbed him from behind.
Biography
Conflict with locals
A Pyke male, he held the position of boss within the Pyke Syndicate. Around 5 ABY, he oversaw the Pyke's spice trading endeavors on Tatooine, a desert planet situated in the Outer Rim. His base of operations was the Desert Survey Office in the Mos Eisley spaceport. During his spice operations, the boss provided protection payments to the Kintan Striders Gang, a local Nikto biker gang, to ensure safe passage through Tatooine's Dune Sea. However, when their transportation of sansanna spice encountered a conflict with the Tusken Raiders, the Dune Sea's native inhabitants, a tribe of Tuskens attacked a Pyke repulsor train. The train crashed, and the surviving Pykes were sent back to the boss with a demand for a toll to be paid to the Tuskens.

In response to the Tusken retaliation, the boss consulted with his superiors in the Pyke Syndicate, who refused to pay protection fees to multiple groups, as they did not want to be exploited. Subsequently, Boba Fett, a former bounty hunter representing the Tuskens, traveled to Mos Eisley to meet with the Pyke boss and collect protection fees. The boss informed Fett of his superiors' refusal to make double arrangements and their existing agreement with the Kintan Striders. The Pyke stated that he was willing to pay either party, but not both, and Fett assured him that the Nikto bikers would no longer pose a threat. As the ex-bounty hunter prepared to leave, the boss expressed his anticipation for their partnership.
However, the boss had lied to Fett, dispatching his forces to massacre the Tusken Raider tribe. The Pykes strategically left behind the symbol of the Kintan Striders to frame the biker gang. Upon discovering the destroyed tribe, Fett recognized the symbol and fell for the syndicate's deception, later obliterating the Nikto bikers in 9 ABY in what he believed was revenge. Subsequently, Fett shifted his focus to assassinating Bib Fortuna, the Daimyo of the Tatooine territories, seizing the position for himself and establishing his own gotra, the Fett gotra. Fett's newly established rule faced opposition from various individuals, including Mayor Mok Shaiz of the city Mos Espa, who opted to pledge Fett's territories to the Pyke Syndicate. By this point, the Pyke Boss had assumed control over the entire Pyke Syndicate.
Tatooine takeover
As Pyke forces amassed in Mos Espa, Mok Shaiz sought refuge in the Desert Survey Office with the boss. The Pyke initiated his takeover of Fett's territories by bombing the Sanctuary cantina. He also deployed the Duros bounty hunter Cad Bane to the settlement of Freetown, where Fett's Mandalorian ally Din Djarin had contacted Marshal Cobb Vanth to assist the Daimyo, ensuring that the residents there would not interfere with the Pykes. The Duros shot down Vanth as a warning to the people of Freetown to remain neutral.

Upon Bane's return to the Desert Survey Office, the Pyke boss, interrupting his conversation with Shaiz, praised the bounty hunter's swiftness. After Bane confirmed Vanth's neutrality in the war against Fett, Shaiz inquired about any other assets Fett possessed, mentioning his former Tusken tribe. The boss explained to the mayor that the Pykes had dealt with the tribe themselves and framed the Kintan Striders. Shaiz questioned when the Pyke Syndicate's war with Fett would conclude and expressed dissatisfaction with the bombing of the Sanctuary, as he had not agreed to open warfare. The boss apologized for overstepping the bounds of his agreement with the mayor and revealed intelligence that Fett was seeking refuge in the cantina's ruins, with Bane suggesting a plan to lure the Daimyo out.
Failed attack
As part of the Pyke boss's strategy to seize control of Mos Espa, he negotiated a deal with the leaders of the three ruling families to betray Fett, violating a neutrality agreement they had established with the Daimyo. While soldiers from the three families turned against Fett's forces, Pyke forces advanced on the Sanctuary, ultimately leading to a battle. Unfortunately for the boss, half of his forces were killed in the engagement, forcing them to retreat. Back at the Desert Survey Office, the Pyke informed Shaiz and the three family dons that his remaining forces were withdrawing to Mos Eisley in preparation for a departure from Tatooine. Two of the family leaders angrily confronted the Pyke boss, citing their agreement, but the boss countered that the agreement required Tatooine to be conducive to the Pyke Syndicate's business, pointing to the Pykes' losses in the battle of Mos Espa when Shaiz argued that it was conducive.

The group was then interrupted by the sound of blaster fire outside, and the boss called out to his door guards, drawing his blaster pistol when there was no response. At that moment, blaster fire rained down from above, killing the three family leaders and the room's two Pyke guards. Shaiz was subsequently ensnared by a grappling line which strangled him to death. As the sole survivor, the Pyke fired upwards and scanned the surroundings, spotting a silhouette through a window. However, the attacker, Fett's assassin, Fennec Shand, stealthily approached the boss from behind and fatally stabbed him in the back.
Personality and traits

The boss, a Pyke male, possessed light blue and beige skin, complemented by black eyes. In the face of potentially lethal situations, the esteemed boss favored resolving conflicts and identifying solutions that would not disrupt his illicit enterprise. He retaliated against the Tusken tribe by annihilating them to safeguard his business interests. The boss opted to frame the Kintan Striders for the atrocity, intending for Boba Fett to exact revenge on the Nikto bikers rather than the Pyke Syndicate, while simultaneously feigning a welcoming attitude towards a partnership with Fett.
Despite Mayor Mok Shaiz's aversion to open warfare in Mos Espa, the Pyke nonetheless authorized a bombing at the Sanctuary cantina, later apologizing to the mayor for his actions. Following the division of Pyke Syndicate forces in their battle for the city, the boss decided to minimize his losses and abandon Tatooine, deeming it no longer suitable for the syndicate's operations.
