Bazine Netal was the assumed identity of a human female mercenary. Having been born on the Inner Rim world of Chaaktil, she spent her childhood in an orphanage and began instruction under Delphi Kloda, a former Kanjiklub pirate, at his combat school. In time, she transitioned into a bounty hunter and ultimately killed Kloda, her one-time instructor, during a mission. Approximately thirty years following the Battle of Endor, she was present at Takodana Castle. Netal alerted the First Order to the presence of BB-8 within Kanata's castle.
On the Inner Rim planet Chaaktil, in 2 BBY, the human who would become known as Bazine Netal was born. Her birth name was a secret she would later maintain. As a child, she was taken from a Chaako City orphanage by Delphi Kloda and raised at his combat school, where she acquired a variety of deadly martial arts skills. It was there that Kloda gave her the nickname "Chaakrabbit."
At the age of fourteen years, Kloda tasked her with stealing an object from one of his competitors. Her target quickly discovered this theft, and the inexperienced learner was burned by a flamethrower. Despite this, she managed to kill her attacker and complete the mission, though she was left with burn scars on the left side of her scalp.
After that, "Chaakrabbit" evolved into a renowned bounty hunter and disguise expert, learning from other teachers in addition to Kloda. At some point, she adopted the alias "Bazine Netal." Her operations were primarily based around Suli's cantina on Chaaktil.

Six years after departing Chaako City, Netal received a job from an unknown client. She was tasked with recovering a steel case in the possession of Jor Tribulus, a former Imperial stormtrooper. Netal's client cautioned her that a rival known as "Narglatch" would also be after the case.
Netal went to Kloda to borrow his ship, the Sparrowhawk. Kloda agreed to lend her the ship on the condition that she bring his student, Orri Tenro, a skilled Pantoran slicer, along on the mission as part of his training. Netal reluctantly agreed, hoping that Tenro's slicing skills would outweigh the risk he posed to her mission. As they headed for the planet Vashka, Tenro proved to be useless at anything other than computers.
On Vashka, Netal and Tenro infiltrated the medcenter where Tribulus had last been recorded as a patient. They discovered the location of Tribulus's retirement facility. Before leaving for that location, Netal injected Tenro with a poison that rendered him unconscious.
Netal found that the retirement home had been overrun by apidactyls. She entered the building by distracting the apidactyls with a thermal detonator. Inside, she encountered Aric Nightdrifter, a retired stormtrooper living in the building, who led her to Tribulus's remains.
Kloda suddenly appeared, revealing that he was Narglatch and that he had trained Netal solely to send her after the case so he could steal it himself, catching Netal off guard. Kloda took the case from Tribulus's corpse, disarmed Netal, trapped her in apidactyl wax, and escaped.
Using the materials Nightdrifter had buried with Tribulus, Netal escaped the building. She threw a detonator in front of Kloda's narglatch, creating a hole in the ground and trapping Kloda. After a brief fight, Netal killed Kloda and returned to the Sparrowhawk with the case.

During the First Order's conflict with the Resistance, Netal worked as a spy with a direct line to the First Order. She posed as Grummgar's girlfriend at Maz Kanata's castle on Takodana.
When Han Solo, the Millennium Falcon's captain, arrived with the fugitives Rey, Finn, and BB-8 in 34 ABY, she informed the Order about the wanted droid's presence, just as a Resistance-sympathetic spy did for their organization. Soon, the First Order military assaulted the location, triggering the first battle of the First Order-Resistance War.

Later, Netal was employed to locate the Millennium Falcon. After hearing a rumor that IG-88 almost captured it, she met with IG-88 to discuss it. IG-88 recounted the story of his near capture of the Falcon with Agent Kallus. IG-88 also mentioned that he almost had the Millennium Falcon again, but Boba Fett got to Solo and the Falcon first. Netal responded that IG-88 had many excuses and that her employer only paid for results. Before leaving to continue her search, Netal told IG-88 that someone knew the Falcon's location and would tell her.
Netal later met with two droids, Doc and Teetee. They shared a story of encountering the Millennium Falcon on Lotho Minor. Netal dismissed the story as irrelevant and asked where she could find the Falcon. The droids didn't know, as they hadn't seen it since Lotho Minor. Netal became angry, but Teetee mentioned that Embo had come into contact with her target. Netal left to find Embo.
Netal traveled to Felucia and found Embo. Knowing that Embo's funding from the New Republic had ended, she offered the Kyuzo credits in exchange for information about his encounter with the Millennium Falcon. Embo told Netal a story of his failed attempt to capture the Falcon on a space station shortly after the Battle of Endor. Netal questioned why capturing the ship was so difficult. Netal replied that she would do more than try and capture it, she would succeed. After paying Embo, he mentioned hearing that the ship had surfaced somewhere. Netal found this interesting and added that if anyone wanted to capture the Falcon as much as her employer, it would be "her". Netal then left for her next destination.

Upon arriving on Corellia, Netal captured a skilled White Worms child to speak with Lady Proxima about the Millennium Falcon. She threatened to kill Proxima and the child if she didn't provide information about the Millennium Falcon. Proxima recounted a story of Han's return to Corellia for parts for the Millennium Falcon. During this, Moloch, serving the White Worms, captured Han and Chewbacca and brought them to Proxima. Proxima told Han he would be punished for owing her coaxium and giving her face scars from the sunlight. Chewbacca gave Han a thermal detonator, which he used to explode the window, letting in sunlight. The sunlight further damaged Proxima's face and blinded her right eye as Han and Chewbacca escaped. Netal became frustrated that they didn't capture the Millennium Falcon. Proxima suggested that Netal visit Gannis Ducain on Jakku, as he had once possessed the Falcon.
Netal found Ducain and heard his story of stealing the Falcon from Solo and its time with him, learning that Ducain was trying to return it to Solo before the Irving Boys stole it from him. After the story, Ducain left to join the Resistance, frustrating Netal. As she left, Proxima contacted Netal, saying she had found the Falcon and that Netal should find Hondo Ohnaka on Batuu with it.
