A Togorian Jedi named Jak'zin dedicated himself to the service of the Jedi Order. In 42 BBY, as a Jedi Initiate located on the planet Coruscant, he formed friendships with fellow initiates Gheyr and Krrsish, who were a Trandoshan and a Wookiee, respectively. At the Jedi Temple, he encountered Jedi Masters Yoda and Dooku. During his training period, Jak'zin, along with his Tibidee Clan, was dispatched to the astronomical object Corvair II to participate in a trial. It was there that Gheyr and Krrsish engaged in a duel, and Jak'zin's attempt to intervene resulted in him being knocked unconscious by the Wookiee.
Eventually, Jak'zin achieved the rank of Jedi Knight. In 26 BBY, the Togorian traveled to the world of Sullust to conduct an investigation into the Kaldana Syndicate, a criminal enterprise that had established a presence there. While present on Sullust, he encountered Dooku, who had previously departed from the Jedi Order. Dooku, secretly a Sith Lord, successfully gained Jak'zin's confidence and proposed assisting him in his assignment.
Upon locating the Kaldana Syndicate, the organization's guards surrounded the pair, prompting Dooku to employ his red lightsaber in combat. Despite being taken aback by the color of Dooku's lightsaber—indicative of a Sith—Jak'zin fought alongside him against the criminals. After surviving the encounter, the Togorian remained suspicious of Dooku and his red weapon. At that juncture, Dooku revealed his true allegiance and used the Force to manipulate a blaster, fatally shooting Jak'zin in the back.

Jak'zin, a Togorian, became a member of the Jedi Order at some point before 42 BBY. As a youngling, he became part of the Tibidee Clan and developed friendships with Krrsish, a Wookiee, and Gheyr, a Trandoshan. One day, while the three Jedi were training alongside other younglings within the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, Jedi Masters Dooku and Yoda provided a demonstration of lightsaber combat. Prior to the duel, Jak'zin informed Krrsish and Gheyr that Dooku had been Yoda's Padawan and was currently a member of the Jedi High Council, to which the Wookiee responded that the Togorian was excessively informed. When Jak'zin ceased speaking, Gheyr took his hand and guided him to a closer vantage point to observe the duel. Following the demonstration, Jak'zin and Gheyr expressed their excitement regarding the duel, while Krrsish asserted that he would surpass the two Jedi Masters. His friends ridiculed him, stating that he would require eight hundred years to reach their level. Gheyr inquired whether Dooku was truly that old, but Jak'zin clarified that it was Yoda's age and that Dooku was likely seven hundred years old.
Later, as the three Jedi were engaged in meditating, Jak'zin and Gheyr continued to discuss the duel they had witnessed. However, Krrsish complained that they were disturbing him, prompting the two younglings to leave the meditation room to converse elsewhere. During his meditation, the Wookiee experienced a vision of Wookies and Trandoshans engaged in combat. Subsequently, Jak'zin and Gheyr engaged in a lightsaber sparring match, with the Trandoshan emerging victorious. Following the duel, Krrsish bumped into Gheyr, accusing her of enjoying causing harm, which the Trandoshan denied. As Krrsish continued to experience visions of Wookies being killed by Trandoshans, he discussed the matter with Dooku, who advised him to continue observing and gathering information regarding his visions.
Jak'zin continued his training alongside Krrsish and Gheyr, participating in duels, meditation, and eating together. The three friends also constructed their lightsabers collaboratively. At a later time, Yoda accompanied the Tibidee Clan to undergo a trial on the astronomical object Corvair II, where several initiates were left alone to reconnect with the Force. While on Corvair II, Krrsish approached the Togorian and the Trandoshan, requesting to speak with Gheyr in private. Jak'zin questioned whether the Wookiee was agitated, but Krrsish did not respond. Once alone, the Wookiee struck Gheyr, who retaliated, knocking Krrsish to the ground. After regaining his footing, the Wookiee activated his lightsaber and lunged at Gheyr.

Before Krrsish could attack the Trandoshan, Jak'zin intervened, pushing the Wookiee to the ground. However, Krrsish retaliated by harming the Togorian with his lightsaber and punching him in the face, rendering Jak'zin unconscious. Krrsish and Gheyr continued their fight until Yoda intervened, halting the duel. The Jedi Master instructed Jak'zin to return to the camp and calmed the other two initiates. Eventually, the Tibidee Clan returned to the Temple, and Krrsish continued his training to become a Jedi. Gheyr, however, chose to leave the Jedi Order and departed with Dooku as he embarked on a diplomatic mission. Before her departure, Jak'zin embraced his friend and expressed his sadness at her leaving.
Subsequently, Jak'zin became acquainted with Qui-Gon Jinn, Dooku's apprentice. However, Dooku grew disillusioned with the Order and left it in 42 BBY, returning to the planet Serenno to assume his legacy as the Count of Serenno. In his absence, in 32 BBY, Jedi Master Jinn was killed by the Sith Darth Maul. Jak'zin soon became aware of rumors circulating among the Jedi regarding Dooku, the most prevalent being that Dooku was establishing his own order of Force-sensitives.

Jak'zin eventually achieved the rank of Jedi Knight. In 26 BBY, he was sent to the planet Sullust to investigate the Kaldana Syndicate, a criminal organization that had established a presence on the planet and posed a threat to the Galactic Republic. While on Sullust, he encountered Dooku, who had become a Sith Lord and was there to conduct contract negotiations with Representative Kap Klyp of the SoroSuub Corporation—and also to secretly seek out the Kaldana Syndicate for Darth Sidious, his Sith Master.
After reuniting with Dooku, Jak'zin praised the count's past as a Jedi and mentioned his acquaintance with his apprentice, Jinn. Although Klyp was eager to resume business, Dooku invited Jak'zin to join them for dinner. During the meal, Dooku and Jak'zin discussed the rumor of Dooku establishing his own order of Force-users. Dooku dismissed the claim, explaining that he was attending to his family's interests on Serenno. When the count inquired about Jak'zin's presence on Sullust, the Togorian replied that it was a confidential matter for the Jedi Council, and Dooku did not press further.
That evening, Dooku approached Jak'zin, suggesting a walk together. The count inquired about the danger associated with Jak'zin's mission, to which Jak'zin responded that there was a reason a Jedi had been dispatched to handle it. Dooku then brought up his apprentice, Jinn, and the two spoke highly of the late Jedi Master, with Dooku pondering whether his remaining in the Order could have prevented Jinn's death and adding that the presence of Jinn's own apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, had not been sufficient to save him. The count subsequently offered to assist Jak'zin with his mission, expressing his desire to make a difference. Trusting the former Jedi Master, Jak'zin confided in him the details of his task, and Dooku offered to accompany him. Jak'zin was initially skeptical, but Dooku convinced him by highlighting his particular interest in Sullust's safety due to his significant financial investment on the planet.

After allowing Dooku to join him, Jak'zin immediately began jumping across the rooftops of the city, with Dooku following. They soon arrived at a building to which Jak'zin had tracked the Kaldana Syndicate, but the Togorian was unaware of the composition of the organization's forces. Dooku suggested a more diplomatic approach, and the two Force-users approached the entrance of the building. As Jak'zin knocked on the door, a hatch opened to his right, and a blaster fired at him. Dooku Force-pushed the Jedi out of harm's way, saving his life. Utilizing his lightsaber, Jak'zin cut through the door and deflected blaster shots from members of the Kaldana.
As he fended off several more members of the syndicate, the Jedi discovered crates of weapons, deducing that the organization was smuggling arms. The pair was then surrounded by numerous Kaldana guards. As Jak'zin assessed the situation, Dooku revealed his lightsaber. Much to the Togorian's surprise, it was red in color, signifying Dooku's true allegiance to the Sith. The Kaldana members then opened fire, after which Dooku and Jak'zin killed the criminals. Jak'zin subsequently questioned how Dooku had acquired his red-colored weapon. In response, Dooku claimed that he had constructed the lightsaber and used the Force to lift a blaster and shoot Jak'zin in the back, killing him. Following Jak'zin's death, Dooku assumed control of the Kaldana Syndicate, delivering it into the hands of Darth Sidious.

During his time as a youngling, Jak'zin was friends with fellow initiates Gheyr and Krrsish. He was impressed by Dooku and Yoda's dueling abilities, discussing the duel with his friend Gheyr. He attempted to protect Gheyr during a fight against Krrsish, even though the intervention put him in danger. As a Jedi Knight, Jak'zin idolized Dooku even after Dooku had left the Jedi Order. This clouded his judgment of Dooku during their conversations, and he was manipulated into revealing his mission and bringing Dooku along, despite being wary of it. Jak'zin did not perceive any flaws in his decisions until Dooku revealed his red lightsaber, and even then, he did not immediately assume Dooku was a Sith. Jak'zin was a Togorian with yellow eyes and orange and white fur with black stripes.
Being Force-sensitive, Jak'zin possessed the ability to Force jump and could sense danger, although he was unable to perceive or evade the blaster bolt fired through a hatch in the wall. He wielded a lightsaber and was capable of deflecting blaster bolts with it.
During his training as a youngling, Jak'zin wielded a green lightsaber and wore white Jedi robes. As a Jedi Knight, the Togorian wore brown and tan Jedi robes and utilized a blue lightsaber during combat.
Jak'zin's first appearance was in the one-shot comic Age of Republic - Count Dooku 1, published by Marvel Comics on February 13, 2019. The comic was written by Jody Houser and illustrated by Luke Ross and Java Tartaglia.
