Mission to Sibensko

In the year 28 ABY, Senator Leia Organa of the New Republic undertook the Mission to Sibensko, journeying with her senatorial team to the planet of Sibensko located in the Expansion Region. Disguised as smugglers, Leia and her team successfully infiltrated Sibensko's underwater city. While Greer Sonnel and Joph Seastriker were occupied with loading a shipment of thermal detonators, Leia, accompanied by C-3PO, managed to download crucial banking records. These records exposed the connection between the Amaxine warriors and the cartel run by Rinnrivin Di. After dispatching C-3PO back to the junker used by Greer and Joph, Leia made the decision to spy on the Amaxine base.

Shortly after, Leia found herself face-to-face with Rinnrivin Di, but she successfully managed to kill him and his bodyguards by triggering the collapse of a hydraulic tunnel. Upon infiltrating the Amaxine base, Leia was pursued by numerous Amaxine warriors. She escaped to a landing platform where she was rescued by her husband, Han Solo, who arrived in a modified racer. Together, the couple engaged and destroyed two Amaxine starfighters. One of the destroyed fighters crashed into the ammunition depot, resulting in the destruction of both the underwater city and the Amaxine base. This confrontation effectively dismantled Rinnrivin Di's cartel and eliminated the Amaxine warriors as dependable proxy agents for the First Order.

Prelude

Background

Following the Battle of Jakku, the Galactic Concordance was signed by the New Republic with the defeated remnants of the Galactic Empire, thereby concluding the Galactic Civil War. Several Imperial loyalists retreated to the Unknown Regions, where they established a military junta known as the First Order. In 21 ABY, which is seven years prior to the Amaxine warrior crisis, the First Order initiated the funding of a pro-Imperial militia called the Amaxine warriors, which was under the leadership of former Imperial officers such as Arliz Hadrassian. The First Order funneled these funds through various Centrist senators within the New Republic's Galactic Senate, including Lady Carise Sindian. To conceal these transactions, the Centrists invested their money into a criminal front organization headed by the Nikto crime lord Rinnrivin Di.

Eventually, the activities of Rinnrivin's cartel captured the attention of Senators Leia Organa and Ransolm Casterfo. Their investigation led them to uncover the collusion between Rinnrivin's cartel and the Amaxines. On Ryloth, Leia and her senatorial team found evidence that suggested Rinnrivin's rise to power was unusually rapid and under suspicious circumstances. After slicing into his spy satellites, C-3PO and Leia's starfighter pilot escort Joph Seastriker discovered that Rinnrivin was hiding on Sibensko, a planet notorious as a haven for criminal activity.

In the meantime, Casterfo and Leia's chief of staff, Greer Sonnel, traveled to Daxam IV under the guise of purchasing an Emperor's Royal Guard helmet from a local collector. This collector turned out to be Hadrassian, who revealed to Casterfo the Amaxine Warriors' encampment on Daxam IV. Furthermore, Hadrassian disclosed that the primary base of the Amaxines was located on Sibensko. Sonnel's reconnaissance flight confirmed that the Amaxines were a substantial and well-equipped militia, possessing thousands of personnel and starfighters. Upon returning to the New Republic capital Hosnian Prime, Leia, Casterfo, and their team began preparations for their journey to Sibensko.

Preparations

Leia Organa's true parentage as the daughter of Darth Vader (pictured) destroyed Organa's career.

However, the plans of Leia and Casterfo were complicated by the upcoming nomination for First Senator, a newly proposed office that would have significant control over the Republic's economy and military. As a prominent member of the Populist faction, Leia received her party's nomination for First Senator. In an attempt to create discord between Leia and Casterfo, Lady Carise leaked information to Casterfo about Leia's parentage as the daughter of the infamous Darth Vader. This revelation triggered a political scandal that not only ruined Leia's political career but also strained her friendship with Casterfo.

Despite the turmoil, Organa remained committed to pursuing her investigation into Rinnrivin's cartel and the Amaxines. After withdrawing her nomination for First Senator, Leia obtained a leave of absence from the Senate. Her pilots, Greer and Joph, also secured a job to deliver a mysterious shipment that had arrived in Sibensko from Daxam IV. For the mission, Leia and her team acquired a junker to disguise themselves as smugglers. Greer and Joph adopted the disguises of a Mandalorian warrior and an Ubese bounty hunter, respectively, while Leia and C-3PO posed as an indentured servant and minder. With all the necessary preparations completed, the four set off for Sibensko.

The mission

The destination for Leia and her team was an underwater city located beneath the planet's oceans. Access to this city was only possible via a series of mechanized landing platforms equipped with Force fields to keep out the water. Upon landing, Joph and Greer were greeted by an Amaxine warrior named Padric, who informed them that they would be delivering a shipment of thermal detonators to contacts on Hosnian Prime. Meanwhile, Leia and C-3PO seized the opportunity to explore the city. Leia also successfully used a tracker to determine that Rinnrivin was present on Sibensko. Earlier, she had placed a tracking device on a holocube that she had returned to the crime lord on Harloff Minor.

Leia and Threepio visited a local cantina and were able to access the Sibensko computer core through a local terminal. Due to the lax security measures, Threepio was able to download banking records that linked Rinnrivin's cartel to the Amaxine warriors. The Amaxines were making substantial investments into Rinnrivin's cartel, which then channeled the profits to unidentified sources on various Centrist worlds. Leia also discovered that the Amaxines had their headquarters in the same Sibensko city. After instructing C-3PO to return to Joph and Greer, Organa decided to conduct reconnaissance on the Amaxine headquarters.

However, she was soon confronted by Rinnrivin and two bodyguards. Following a heated exchange, Leia shot one of Rinnrivin's bodyguards. She then used a blaster to dislodge a bolt holding a hydraulic tunnel, which resulted in the death of the crime lord and his remaining bodyguard. Maintaining contact with her team via comlink, Leia made her way to the Amaxine base. She managed to enter the base, where she discovered that the Amaxines had amassed a fleet of starfighters, including X-wings, TIE fighters, Y-wings, and B-wings. Leia was quickly surrounded by six Amaxine warriors but managed to escape to a landing platform.

Leia activated the force field controls and allowed the platform to ascend to the surface. In response, the Amaxines deployed a Y-wing and a B-wing to eliminate the New Republic intruder. Before the Y-wing could engage her, Leia's husband, Han Solo, arrived in a modified racer and shot down the starfighter. Solo then maneuvered the racer towards Leia, who boarded the ship. The couple then exchanged fire with the B-wing starfighter, and Han successfully shot it down. As a response, the Amaxines dispatched additional starfighters to eliminate the intruders. During the ensuing dogfight, Leia managed to shoot down one of the new fighters, which crashed into the sea and collided with the Amaxine base's arms depot. This collision triggered a massive explosion that destroyed the underwater city and all its inhabitants.

Aftermath

Despite the destruction of the Amaxine Warriors as a military threat, Leia was disappointed that much of the physical evidence had been lost, except for the information stored in C-3PO's data banks. Upon returning to Hosnian Prime, Leia announced her intention to address the Galactic Senate regarding her investigation into the Amaxines and Rinnrivin's cartel. With the support of her former friend Casterfo and the Populists, Leia secured the necessary quorum. During her final speech, Leia informed the Senate about the connection between Rinnrivin's cartel and the Amaxines, presenting the banking records downloaded by C-3PO as evidence. Despite the destruction of these two factions, Leia cautioned that other threats to the New Republic still existed.

Due to the recent scandal surrounding Leia's father, many senators did not believe her, with one accusing her of warmongering. To Leia's surprise, Casterfo spoke in her defense and presented visual logs from his undercover mission to Daxam IV. He assured the Senate that Leia was telling the truth and warned that the Amaxines admired the Old Empire and sought to overthrow the Republic. While Casterfo's actions earned him Leia's respect, they angered his nominal ally, Lady Carise Sindian, who decided to eliminate him. Lady Carise ordered Hadrassian to assassinate the Populist senator Tai-Lin Garr, who was the new Populist candidate for First Senator.

She then fabricated evidence linking Casterfo to Hadrassian. Consequently, Casterfo was deported to his homeworld of Riosa to stand trial for aiding Hadrassian, thus implicating him in the Napkin Bombing, the Amaxines, and Rinnrivin's cartel. In retaliation, Leia persuaded the Elder Houses to strip Carise of all her royal titles. Disheartened by the infighting and inaction of the Galactic Senate, Leia resigned as Senator and established a paramilitary organization called the Resistance to safeguard the New Republic.
