Rodrigu Battle, an Iridonian and Zabrak individual, gained notoriety as a fighter in the brutal pits of Nar Kanji, a planet where such contests thrived. During the Galactic Empire's reign, he reigned supreme as an undefeated champion within his weight class. However, in the year 3 ABY, he faced a surprising challenge in the form of Tasu Leech, an underdog human combatant. During their intense confrontation, Leech managed to sever the blade-equipped limb of Battle, leading to the Zabrak's defeat. Following this loss, Battle vowed to his adversary that he would seek a rematch as soon as he had replaced his missing appendage.
Later, Vukorah, the Grand Leader of the Unbroken Clan criminal organization, recruited the Zabrak to serve as her personal bodyguard. He accompanied her to Coronet City on Corellia, a planet located within the Core Worlds. It was there that T'onga's crew, a group led by the bounty hunter T'onga and including Battle's previous opponent Leech, embarked on a mission to capture Vukorah, as she was crucial to their pursuit of Cadeliah, the syndicate's rightful heir. Once again, Battle clashed with Leech, only to suffer another defeat. This time, he lost his right leg and was sent plummeting from a considerable height.
After his setback on Corellia, Battle found himself at Jabba's Palace alongside other mercenaries and bounty hunters when Beilert Valance, a cyborg, made an uninvited entrance. Offended by this intrusion, the Hutt Jabba Desilijic Tiure immediately placed a bounty on Valance's capture. Battle saw this as an opportunity and attempted to apprehend the cyborg, but Valance swiftly overpowered him and severed his newly acquired right leg cybernetics.

Around 3 ABY, during the Galactic Empire's era of dominance, Rodrigu Battle was a well-known fighter within the fighting pits located on Nar Kanji, a world colonized by the Hutt. His undefeated record in his class had earned him considerable fame and popularity among the spectators. In that year, a match was arranged for Battle, heralded as the "breaker of bones" and "crusher of spirits," with a large crowd in attendance. Among the audience were T'onga, a human bounty hunter, and her wife, Losha Tarkon, who initially believed they were there to offer the Zabrak a job. T'onga corrected Tarkon, explaining that they were actually interested in his opponent. The announcer then introduced the human fighter Tasu Leech, who was viewed as an underdog. Both fighters wielded a pair of substantial blades, ready for combat.
As the match commenced, Battle engaged the human. During their struggle, Battle offered Leech a final chance to beg for mercy, an offer that the human met with mockery, infuriating the Zabrak. Battle threatened to devour Leech's human heart and use his spine as a toothpick. Leech responded with a smirk, questioning how Battle could possibly carry out his threats after Leech had dismembered his limb. Making good on his threat, Leech proceeded to sever Battle's bladed limb attachment, one of the weapons he had been using, and then held Battle at knifepoint. The Zabrak vowed to face Leech again as soon as he had replaced his missing parts. Leech, considering Battle a worthy opponent, respected the Zabrak's words and left the pit with his new trophy. Battle's defeat resulted in financial losses for those who had bet on him, including Del Meeko, an agent from the Imperial Inferno Squad, who had wagered twenty credits on the Zabrak.

In the period between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, following his defeat by Leech, Battle was employed by the Unbroken Clan criminal syndicate. He traveled to Corellia, a planet within the Core Worlds, to serve as a bodyguard and protect Vukorah, the Grand Leader who had recently assumed control of the Clan after the death of its previous leader. He accompanied Vukorah and other Unbroken Clan soldiers on a walk through Coronet City to display their power. Unbeknownst to the syndicate, Leech, disguised, and Bossk, a Trandoshan bounty hunter, approached the grand leader and presented a captured T'onga. The grand leader welcomed T'onga to Coronet City, declaring the city as Unbroken Clan territory. T'onga reminded her of Cadeliah, the true heir to the criminal syndicate, which angered Vukorah regarding her position and title as the grand leader. Vukorah ordered her soldiers to execute T'onga, but an attack from above interrupted the execution. Fulfilling his duty, Battle directed Grand Leader Vukorah towards a vehicle to ensure her safety from the attacks, but she ignored the directive, realizing that it was a trap set up by T'onga and her crew.
Other members of T'onga's crew then came to her aid, including Leech, much to Battle's dismay. The former pit fighter removed his disguise, revealing himself among the attackers of the Unbroken Clan, and confronted his "old friend." Battle urged Leech to accept his inevitable defeat with honor, but Leech declined. As they fought, Battle cornered Leech. The human asked if Battle was still upset about the loss of his arm and promised not to cut his arm during their current fight. Leech threw his knife at the Zabrak, which cut through his right leg, fulfilling his promise of not cutting Battle's arm. The loss of his leg caused Battle to fall from a high platform, ending the fight. His failure to defeat Leech contributed to Vukorah's capture by the attackers.

Later, Battle was present at Jabba's Palace on Tatooine along with other mercenaries and bounty hunters when Beilert Valance, a human cyborg, entered the throne room uninvited. The Hutt Jabba Desilijic Tiure was angered by the cyborg's presence, considering it an insult, and ordered Valance to be captured. Jabba announced that whoever brought him Valance would gain his favor and receive fifty thousand credits. Battle, with a smile, licked the blade of his arm attachment and seized the opportunity to confront the cyborg. However, Valance, wielding a battle-ax taken from a Gamorrean Guard, fought his way through and defeated Battle by severing his new leg cybernetics, much to Battle's frustration.
Rodrigu Battle was a powerfully built Iridonian Zabrak with tan skin. His body was covered in red tattoo-like markings. Despite his "undefeated" title, Battle underestimated his opponents in the fighting pits, even after his loss, which damaged his perfect record. Battle was visibly upset when Beliert Valance severed his leg once again.

As an experienced pit fighter, Battle possessed considerable skills in close-quarters combat. His imposing physique allowed him to be more aggressive, but it also created openings for his opponents to counterattack. His display of strength led Tarkon to believe that Battle could single-handedly take on the Empire, while Leech considered him to be a relatively weak opponent. The Zabrak was fluent in Galactic Basic Standard and had some understanding of Jablogian.
The Zabrak carried a pair of large knives, one of which was attached to his left hand. During his pit fighting days, Battle wore black pants with a brown belt. When employed by the Unbroken Clan, Battle wore a black jacket over a black top, along with a pair of black gloves. After his fight with Leech on Corellia, Battle acquired a new right leg cybernetics to replace his missing limb.
Rodrigu Battle made his initial appearance in the fifteenth issue of the 2020 Star Wars: Bounty Hunters comic-book series published by Marvel, which was released on August 4, 2021. The issue was written by Ethan Sacks and featured illustrations by Paolo Villanelli.
