Trade Federation Script

Trade Federation Basic, alternatively referred to as Trade Federation Script, functioned as a writing system employed to represent Galactic Basic Standard. The Trade Federation made use of it. The Confederacy of Independent Systems utilized it by the time of the Clone Wars.

Form

The Trade Federation Script consisted of a minimum of 26 characters and implemented a base-10 positional numeral system. It was capable of being written either from left to right horizontally, or from top to bottom vertically.

History

High Republic Era

While undergoing testing by the Jedi, a youthful Osha Aniseya was tasked with interpreting images displayed on a testing screen. Jedi Master Sol held the screen with its face turned away from Osha. The screen presented various patterns along with some small symbols, the majority of which were unfamiliar, but a handful were sourced from the Trade Federation's alphabet.

Later, as an older Osha, along with fellow meknek Fillik, were in the process of repairing the shield generator on the Trade Federation freighter Fallon, a monitor located inside the ship showed the word "WARNING" rendered in Trade Federation Script.

A series of symbols appeared on the viewscreen of Jedi Knight Yord Fandar's macrobinoculars; most were unknown, yet two were recognizable as an R and a stylized Z, written in the characteristic Trade Federation script.

Republic Era

When Darth Maul was searching for Queen Amidala on Tatooine, the display on his macrobinoculars showed numerals originating from the Trade Federation Script.

During the Battle of Naboo, one of the B1 battle droids that deactivated featured "1138" rendered in the alphabet's numerals on its comlink booster pack. Additionally, a computer within the Droid Control Ship, which was employed to activate the Trade Federation Droid Army, also made use of this alphabet.

In the course of the Battle of Geonosis, a B1 battle droid firing at opposing Jedi while Mace Windu deflected a blaster shot into a OOM command battle droid, displayed "1138" printed on its booster pack.

The blueprints for the Jedi Temple contained text employing Aurebesh letters, along with numbers rendered in Trade Federation Script. The blueprints for the temple hangar included the text "AB281", "DELTA-7" and "DELTA-7 AETHERSPRITE," while the blueprints for the Analysis Rooms contained "FLOOR 47" and "3263827 ANALYSIS". The specifications list for an SP-4 analysis droid included the text "IC-GR8 ANALYSIS DROID".

The T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid, also known as T1, had the letter L displayed on its chest. Certain models of the droid also had the letter on their head.

During the Battle of Lola Sayu, the computer screen of a T1 droid used this alphabet. A scan of a cargo shuttle displayed: "SEPARATIST ESCORT SHUTTLE CLASS TYPE B" . "SCAN COMPLETE" . "SUPPLIES" . "BEVERAGES" . "FOOD" . "MORE FOOD" . "GUNS" . "GENERAL SUPPLIES" . "FROZEN RATIONS" . "ANAKIN SKYWA[obscured]" . "CARBONITE" . "METAL", accompanied by the options "DESTROY" and "LET PASS".

During the Clone Wars, the name of "CATO", a dancing establishment located on Coruscant's Level 1312 and 1313, was written using this alphabet. Toward the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the monitors found on General Grievous' flagship, the Invisible Hand, utilized this alphabet.

Imperial Era

Computer at Nixus Hub 218 – screen says "LOCKED TURBOLIFT"

During a mission to save Jedi Master Luminara Unduli from the Spire, Sabine Wren interacted with a computer that displayed this alphabet. The screen displayed the words "LOCKED TURBOLIFT". The same text was presented on a computer utilized by the crime boss Azmorigan within Nixus Hub 218.

At the time of the Galactic Civil War, a sign located on Hradreek displayed "FOODS" in both Aurebesh and Trade Federation Script.

New Republic era

Trade Federation Script was used on the console of the racing starfighter Fireball. The messages "WARNING" : "CHECK OIL" and "SYSTEM" : "WARNING" appeared on multiple occasions while Kazuda Xiono was piloting it. These messages first appeared when the young pilot was powering up the Fireball for the race against Torra Doza, and during the actual race. Later, they showed up while Xiono was flying the Fireball over Castilon, and during a training exercise with Ace Squadron. At times, the console simply displayed "SYSTEM" : "WARNING". This occurred during Xiono's mission to rescue Torra Doza from pirates, and during the mission to the Dassal system. On other occasions, only the second set of data, "WARNING" : "CHECK OIL", was displayed. This happened during the Battle of Castilon and another training exercise with Ace Squadron.

When Sidon Ithano rendezvoused with Drell and Kragan Gorr on an asteroid, small red monitors affixed to the crates being unloaded from the Meson Martinet displayed "LOCKED". Subsequently, the monitors turned green and displayed "UNLOCKED". A datapad utilized by Neeku Vozo while repairing a B1-series battle droid showed:
